This week, Amanda Wagner begins our Advent series by looking at Matthew 1:1-17. These seventeen verses contain Matthew's version of Jesus' genealogy. It's so much more than just a list of names. It speaks to the kind of Savior Jesus will be. He will be a Savior who fulfills both a priestly and a kingly role. He will be a Savior for Jew and Gentile, for men and women, for the righteous and unrighteous. This Advent, we await the arrival of a Savior whose mercy and grace will be for every person.
