Steve:

Okay, a quick quote to start us off. Who says this? Some people are worth melting for.

Lovella:

Oh, I know. Olaf.

Steve:

Correct.

Steve:

Welcome to Kids vs. Parents. I'm Steve.

Lovella:

And I'm Lovella.

Steve:

Are you ready for a family battle? Four tough questions for the kids and four tougher ones for the parents.

Lovella:

Today, we're playing Guess the Quote and our topic is Disney sidekicks.

Steve:

That's right.

Steve:

So who are we talking about here, Lovella?

Steve:

What's a Disney sidekick?

Steve:

Ooh, let's...

Steve:

Not the main character.

Lovella:

Yeah, not the main character.

Lovella:

So like Timon, Pumbaa from The Lion King are sidekicks.

Lovella:

Yeah.

Lovella:

And Olaf is a sidekick.

Lovella:

Like all those characters who are like helping the main characters.

Steve:

Helping the heroes or helping the princess along on their journeys.

Steve:

Or the villains.

Steve:

Yep.

Steve:

Yep.

Steve:

All the villains.

Steve:

They could be villain helpers as well.

Steve:

That's right.

Steve:

Little sidekicks.

Steve:

And what are we playing for today, Lovella?

Steve:

What is the prize for today's match?

Lovella:

Today's prize is the winner gets to pick the next takeout spot.

Steve:

Ooh, that'll be fun.

Steve:

I'm going to make you go somewhere and try something new.

Lovella:

Oh, yay.

Steve:

All right, who should go first?

Lovella:

How about the parents?

Steve:

Okay, parents, I hope you know your Disney sidekicks and what they say,

Steve:

because you're up first.

Steve:

Here we go.

Lovella:

Okay, quote number one.

Lovella:

I shall call him squishy and he shall be mine

Lovella:

He shall be my squishy.

Steve:

Okay.

Steve:

It's very hard for you not to say it in the voice of the character, isn't it?

Steve:

I think I can see you trying not to give it away.

Steve:

But I know who this is.

Steve:

I feel like this is Dory from Finding Nemo.

Steve:

Correct.

Steve:

Yay.

Steve:

Nice.

Steve:

That's in the first movie, right?

Steve:

In Finding Nemo?

Steve:

Yeah.

Steve:

Yeah.

Lovella:

She's talking to a little jellyfish.

Steve:

Oh, she's talking to a little jellyfish.

Steve:

I love it.

Steve:

Well done.

Steve:

All right.

Steve:

I'm on the board.

Steve:

Give me another one, Lovella.

Lovella:

All right.

Lovella:

Quote number two.

Lovella:

It has to be something very special.

Lovella:

Something that sparks her interest.

Lovella:

hmm ask the cassette again it has to be something very special something that sparks her interest

Steve:

okay so you're talking about a female hero that doesn't really narrow it down much because there's

Steve:

a lot of female heroes in Disney movies.

Steve:

My initial gut is something from Inside Out.

Steve:

So maybe I will say, but they're all main characters, aren't they?

Steve:

Technically.

Lovella:

I feel like sadness and joy are more main characters and then they're kind of like.

Steve:

The other ones are the sidekicks?

Lovella:

Sort of.

Steve:

Yeah.

Steve:

Am I in the ballpark?

Steve:

Is it Inside Out?

Lovella:

No.

Steve:

No.

Steve:

Okay.

Steve:

All right.

Steve:

In that case, I don't really know who it is.

Steve:

I'm going to guess, that's something that sparks your interest.

Steve:

So let's go with, how about Flounder?

Lovella:

Incorrect.

Lovella:

It was Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast.

Steve:

Oh, nice.

Steve:

Right.

Steve:

Very good.

Lovella:

It doesn't sound, it doesn't, it wouldn't sound like him unless it was like in a French accent.

Steve:

Yeah, you have to do it in a French accent.

Steve:

Can you do it in a French accent for us?

Lovella:

Um, I don't think so.

Steve:

Not even going to try?

Lovella:

Yeah, no.

Lovella:

No.

Steve:

Oui, oui.

Lovella:

Oui, oui.

Steve:

Bonjour.

Steve:

Bonjour.

Steve:

All right, not even going to try.

Steve:

Fair enough.

Steve:

Okay, good one.

Steve:

Give me another quote.

Lovella:

All right, quote number three.

Lovella:

You want something done, you've got to do it yourself.

Steve:

You want something done, you've got to do it yourself.

Steve:

Okay, this, I was just one ahead of myself, wasn't I?

Steve:

This is Sebastian from The Little Mermaid.

Steve:

Because I feel like he, I'm going in very confident and I'm getting a blank stare from

Steve:

Lovella, feeling like she's either tricking me or I'm way off.

Steve:

But I'm going to say Sebastian.

Steve:

Correct.

Steve:

Yes.

Steve:

Nice.

Steve:

When does he say that?

Steve:

That's when, do you remember when he says that?

Steve:

No, you don't.

Lovella:

No, but he must be talking to Ariel.

Steve:

something. Yeah, I think he's angry because he's asked Ariel to do something and she's not doing it.

Steve:

That would be my guess. Nice. All right. Two on the board. I'm feeling good. You got another

Lovella:

sidekick for me, Lovella? Yep. Quote number four. Who's the brains of this outfit? My point exactly.

Steve:

who's the brains of this outfit my point exactly okay so it's a little confident sidekick

Steve:

who's been planning something who's the brains of this outfit oh is this um

Steve:

is this from Toy Story?

Steve:

I feel like this is Toy Story.

Steve:

So I'm not getting anything from LaValle here.

Steve:

I'm trying to see if she's giving me clues,

Steve:

but I'm not getting anything.

Steve:

I'm going to say Ham from Toy Story.

Lovella:

You were close with Ham.

Lovella:

I mean, sort of.

Steve:

Oh, it's a pig.

Lovella:

It is a pig or a...

Lovella:

Oh, is it Pumba?

Lovella:

It's Timon and Pumbaa.

Steve:

Oh, it's Pumbaa from The Lion King.

Steve:

Yes.

Lovella:

Timon and Pumbaa.

Lovella:

He's a warthog.

Lovella:

Warthog, which is technically a pig.

Lovella:

Yeah, yep.

Steve:

A wild pig.

Steve:

Some type of pig.

Steve:

A wild pig.

Steve:

So you were kind of close.

Steve:

I was kind of in the pig zone.

Steve:

Oh, that's a good one.

Steve:

Nice.

Lovella:

It's when they're like trying to distract those hyenas.

Steve:

The hyenas from attacking.

Lovella:

With a crazy random dance.

Steve:

Yep, yep.

Steve:

Ah, what a great quote.

Steve:

We had a great sidekick too.

Steve:

They're good sidekicks.

Steve:

Okay, I got two out of four.

Steve:

That's my score.

Steve:

Kids, you're up next.

Steve:

Ooh, I'm scared.

Steve:

All right, kids, sidekick time for you.

Steve:

Here we go.

Steve:

Quote number one.

Steve:

I have just met you and I love you.

Lovella:

Oh, I know.

Lovella:

This is Doug from Up.

Steve:

Correct.

Steve:

Yes.

Steve:

Nice. Well done. Okay. One on the board. Well done. Okay. Quote number two.

Steve:

I don't have a horn, but I can honk real good.

Lovella:

Um, I know who this is.

Lovella:

It's because it's like got the, like, I can't honk.

Steve:

Uh-huh.

Lovella:

Or like, I don't have a horn.

Steve:

Yeah.

Lovella:

But I can, I sure can honk or something.

Steve:

Yeah.

Lovella:

I'm guessing it's Maida because he doesn't have a horn and then he just blows his whatever it is.

Steve:

Right.

Lovella:

I don't know.

Lovella:

But no, yeah, I think it's Maida.

Steve:

You think it's Maida?

Lovella:

Yeah.

Steve:

You are correct.

Steve:

Yes.

Steve:

Nice.

Lovella:

Let's go.

Steve:

Well done.

Steve:

All right.

Steve:

Good job.

Steve:

Okay.

Steve:

Quote number three.

Steve:

i'm married i'm a married spud

Lovella:

what i'm married i'm a married spud um i'm married i'm a married spud

Steve:

Uh-huh. Do you know what a spud is?

Lovella:

No.

Steve:

You don't know what a spud is?

Lovella:

No.

Steve:

All right. A spud is another name for a potato. Does that help you now? I'm married. I'm a married spud.

Lovella:

Oh! Oh. Okay. Someone from Toy Story.

Steve:

Uh-huh.

Lovella:

It's either Mr. or Mrs. Potato Head, but I think it's Mr. Potato Head. I'm guessing Mr. Potato Head?

Steve:

You're correct.

Lovella:

Yes.

Steve:

Mr. Potato Head, well done.

Steve:

Nice.

Steve:

Okay, last quote.

Steve:

Quote number four.

Steve:

Phenomenal cosmic powers, itty bitty living space.

Lovella:

Oh, this is easy.

Lovella:

This is the genie.

Steve:

Yeah, that's right.

Steve:

Arguably, the best sidekick, as in so helpful.

Steve:

Yeah.

Steve:

giving you three wishes.

Lovella:

Yeah.

Steve:

And he's such a main character in the film.

Steve:

He is.

Steve:

He may not call him a sidekick,

Steve:

but he does help the hero along the way.

Steve:

So that's why I chose him.

Lovella:

Yeah.

Steve:

He's one of my favorite characters.

Lovella:

He's so funny.

Steve:

Of all time.

Steve:

The best sidekick.

Lovella:

Yeah.

Steve:

The genie.

Lovella:

I love the genie.

Steve:

Bonus points, Lovella.

Steve:

Can you tell me who voices the genie?

Lovella:

I can't tell you that,

Lovella:

but I can tell you who plays the genie in the live action.

Steve:

Who's that?

Lovella:

Will Smith.

Steve:

Oh, very good.

Steve:

Very good.

Lovella:

But I don't know the...

Lovella:

Well, I think I do.

Steve:

the parents are about to tell you who voices the genie didn't he die he did his name is robin

Steve:

williams oh yeah yeah i think i remember that yep he's no longer with us but we remember him

Steve:

in the genie whenever we watch that along with all his other films all right you're up one right i

Steve:

think quick score check for everybody in the cars kids in our car you're up one you got three oh i

Steve:

got everything oh you got everything i got everything actually you said you got four out of

Steve:

four. And you got one out of four or two out of four? No, I got two out of four, I think. Two out

Steve:

of four. I think I was two out of four in the end. Okay, so you are a clean sweep. I got two out of

Steve:

four in our cars. All right, so that means we're moving to our bonus or tiebreaker round, depending

Steve:

what it is for you in the car. Lovella, explain to everybody how the bonus question works.

Lovella:

Basically, there's one question. First person to buzz in and get the correct answer wins. But if you

Lovella:

buzz in and get the incorrect answer, then point goes to the other team. And we're playing for two

Steve:

points. All right. So two points. So I get a chance to, oh, I can't even win. I can't even win double

Steve:

points because I'm only on two. Oh no, yes, I can. I can tie it with you. You're on four. I'm on two.

Steve:

So I need this bonus question for it to be a tie. And then we'll work out whatever we do from here.

Steve:

Maybe we'll make ours first three points. Do you want to do that? Our bonus round is worth three

Steve:

points for us, but you can make it worth whatever you want in your car. All right. Hands on your

Steve:

Here we go.

Steve:

Bonus quote.

Steve:

I'm a beautiful butterfly.

Steve:

Buzz.

Steve:

Buzz.

Steve:

It's the caterpillar.

Steve:

Yeah, you've got to tell me his name.

Steve:

If you don't get his name, it's my point.

Steve:

You can't just say the caterpillar.

Lovella:

I think it's Heimlich, right?

Lovella:

Heimlich.

Steve:

Yes, it is.

Steve:

It's Heimlich.

Lovella:

I win.

Steve:

From Bugs Life.

Steve:

Yeah, he's a good sidekick too.

Steve:

Well, not that he was super helpful all the time.

Steve:

But, yeah.

Steve:

Oh, no, he was very helpful.

Lovella:

He's funny.

Steve:

He dressed up and lured the grasshoppers away at some point.

Steve:

Mm-hmm.

Steve:

Nice.

Steve:

Well, thanks for playing Disney Sidekicks.

Steve:

The kids in our car win, so congratulations to the kids.

Steve:

I don't know how you did it in your car.

Steve:

Well done, Lovella.

Lovella:

I get takeout.

Steve:

You get to choose where we go for takeout next time we eat.

Lovella:

Yay.

Steve:

Got any ideas?

Lovella:

Hmm, maybe Chick-fil-A, In-N-Out, one of those.

Steve:

Okay, one of those.

Steve:

You want hamburgers?

Lovella:

Yeah.

Steve:

All right.

Steve:

I'm happy with that, too.
