Healing was never meant to be a checklist, and Kimberly Rash is here to prove it.
Kimberly walks through a wide range of healing tools beyond the basics, including nervous system regulation, somatic healing, EMDR, inner child work, forgiveness, energy healing, sound healing, and visualization. She shares an emotionally raw personal story about finally forgiving her ex-husband after years of trying to force it, and how that moment cracked something open in her that led to real freedom. Throughout, she reminds listeners that healing is deeply personal, that no single modality works for everyone, and that faith is often the real force behind any tool’s effectiveness.
Kimberly closes by encouraging listeners to release the pressure of healing on anyone else’s timeline and to trust the small steps they’re already taking. She reminds everyone that healing isn’t about becoming a finished product, it’s about becoming.

Kimberly Rash explores healing modalities beyond the basics, including nervous system regulation, somatic healing, EMDR, inner child work, forgiveness, energy healing, sound healing, and visualization. She shares a raw personal story of forgiving her ex-husband and reminds listeners that healing is deeply personal, non-linear, and rooted in faith.
Healing is not a one size fits all journey, and this episode dives into the deeper modalities that many women turn to once the foundational healing work has been done. Kimberly Rash unpacks nervous system regulation, somatic healing, EMDR, inner child work, forgiveness, energy healing and Reiki, sound healing, and visualization, explaining what each one looks like in practice and who it tends to help most.
Kimberly shares a vulnerable personal story about the years she spent trying to forgive her ex-husband out of obligation before finally feeling true freedom the night she let go for real. She connects that experience to a larger truth, that forgiveness is rarely about the other person and almost always about releasing the poison that only hurts us. Throughout the episode, she weaves in faith, reminding listeners that healing tools matter, but it is faith behind the modality that makes lasting change possible.
By the end, listeners are encouraged to stop measuring their healing against anyone else’s timeline and to trust that small, consistent steps are enough. This episode is a gentle, faith rooted invitation to keep becoming rather than waiting to arrive.

[:But healing is such a personal experience. What works for one person may not work for another. And sometimes after we're done, or after we've done some of the foundational work, we begin to look for deeper ways to understand our pain, reconnect with ourselves, and release the things we've been carrying for years.
So in this part of the episode, I wanna introduce you to some of my healing modalities that many people have found incredibly helpful. You don't need to try all of them. You don't need to agree with all of them. My goal today is simply to expose you to possibilities because healing isn't a one-size-fits-all.
't we just jump in and let's [:Many of us have spent years living in fight or flight, freeze or fawn responses, and we become hypervigilant, we overthink, we people please, we stay constantly busy because slowing down feels unsafe. Our nervous system becomes conditioned to stress, and the problem is that our bodies don't know the difference between a real emergency and a remembered one.
Nervous system regulation teaches your body safety again. What does that look like? it can c- include what I mentioned in the last one, breathwork, gentle movement, grounding exercises, time in nature, cold exposure, just rest, mindfulness, safe relationships. Healing often just starts beginning when your body finally believes the danger is over.
ic healing. The word somatic [:A knot in your throat? That's your body remembering. Somatic healing helps release stored stress and trauma through body awareness. And again, what does this look like? It may involve breathwork, gentle movement, body scanning, shaking exercises. Get yourself a little vibration plate. Grounding practices, learning to notice physical sensations.
r people who do this locally [:There's so many local people who just love other people, who love other women, who wanna help you heal. There's EMDR. One therapy approach that has helped many trauma survivors is called EMDR. And I do know that this doesn't work for everybody. I have a young lady in my life who tried this and was like, "Yep, nope.
This is not for me." But I've known other people who have tried it and were like, "Whoa, like this totally helped me." So again, one thing, it's not a one-size-fits-all. EMDR stands for eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. It was developed to help people process traumatic memories that feel stuck.
otionally overwhelming after [:It's often used for trauma, domestic violence survivors, PTSD, childhood wounds, anxiety. EMDR should always be done with a trained professional, and it has been life-changing for many people, but like I said, it isn't for everyone. Inner child healing. This one can feel emotional because many of us still carrying wounds from versions of ourselves that never felt seen, protected, or understood.
Inner child work isn't about blaming parents. It's about recognizing unmet needs. And that means that there's a lot of times your parents were taking care of you in the best way that they could in the space that they were in
safe adult your younger self [:When we do that, we stop expecting others to heal wounds they didn't create and begin offering compassion to ourselves
And I did say in not the part A of this episode, but in the one previously, that eventually we're gonna be walking down the world of forgiveness and what that looks like. But forgiveness work is a modality, and it is one of the most misunderstood parts of healing. It does not mean what happened was okay, or you trust the person again, there are no consequences, you allowed continued harm.
Forgiveness is releasing your attachment to carrying the wound forever. Sometimes forgiveness is for the other person, but most often it is for yourself. Sometimes it's a process that takes years And sometimes forgiveness begins with simply saying, " I wanna be free. I want to release this from my life so it stops taking up space in my brain and my head."
o forgive my ex-husband. And [:Anger and bitterness and resentment that... You know what? He was living his best life. He could give two craps at how angry he made me. You know what? I did not rent space in his head, but he definitely rented space in mine. And as a Christian, God says you gotta forgive everybody. And, I was trying.
But you know what? There's a difference of doing it because you know you're supposed to and doing it because you actually feel it. And I would say for about 10 years I would sit there and be like, "Father, I forgive so-and-so for what he did to me. Father, I forgive him. Father, I forgive him. Father, I forgive him."
ed the night that I was just [:I forgive him. I don't wanna hold this anymore. I forgive him." And it was the craziest thing. Literally, like as soon as I said that, and it truly happened, I felt something unlock in my heart. I felt my heart just, I don't wanna say crack wide open. That's not what it was. But it moved. And then all of a sudden, like a flood behind my eyelids, 100 things that I had done wrong in my life came flooding in front of me, and I was able to say, "Forgive me for that.
Forgive me for that. Forgive me for that." So because I was able to finally forgive somebody
f gum at Cumberland Farms in [:All the things came flying back, and I was able to ask for forgiveness for, to my creator, for my things. And when I was done doing that, I was lighter than a feather. I just had this freedom. And you know what? Any time after that when my ex-husband would call me, I was cool as a cucumber. and it was almost like sometimes...
we're friends now, and we're in a good place 'cause we're co-grandparenting and stuff, and we're in a good place. But back then, it... Sometimes he would even, try to instigate an argument with me, and I think it aggravated him more sometimes because I wouldn't give it to him. I was like, "Okay.
relationship ever since. And [:And not everyone will deserve access to you ever again, but everyone deserves the opportunity to stop carrying the poison that only hurts them
Then there's energy healing or Reiki. It's a modality that some people find deeply meaningful and others may not connect with at all. Reiki is a gentle energy-based focus on relaxation and supporting overall well-being. Many people describe the feeling as deep peace, relaxation, emotional release, reduced stress, a greater sense of balance.
to this, and some people are [:Have you ever sat in a sound healing with the bowls and the instruments? It's just beautiful. It's been used for healing and spiritual practices across cultures for thousands of years. You may have heard of sound baths, crystal singing bowls, tuning forks. Get those healing frequencies back in you people Drumming, chanting, meditative music, worship music Sound healing works by helping people slow down, become present, and enter into a more relaxed state.
Even if you've never attended a formal sound healing session, you probably have experienced this yourself. Think about how a favorite song can instantly shift your mood or how worship music can make you feel connected. Sound affects us all deeply, more deeply than we actually even realize
anguage. It hits you in your [:I worship all morning before I go to work. And I'm all tearing up because I'm just praising and loving and feeling the love through the music. And it was beautiful, and it always is beautiful. I don't think you can ever really go wrong with sound healing
It's just, it's a great thing to be able to do. Next is Visualization And it became important for me when I stopped focusing on only where I was and started imagining where I was going. So I actually do that in walking meditation. I picture who I wanna be, what I wanna look like, what I wanna be doing, what it feels like, where I'm going, what I want
zation invites us to imagine [:What boundaries does she have? How does she care for herself? What joy, what brings her joy? These things do not have to be the things that are you right now, but the desire of your heart. what would bring you true joy? We are not created to be miserable little creatures Picture what you want.
Picture who you want to be. Picture how you want to feel What brings you joy? And you're not gonna become her overnight, but when you see her, you keep moving toward her. And so when I walk, she's at the end of my path. I see her. I know what I wanna look like. I know what businesses I wanna run. I know what things I wanna do
I may not even know how to get there. I may not even know how to get it done, but I know it's what I wanna do. And you know what? I'm gonna keep putting one step in front of the other, one foot in front of the other, and I'm gonna reach her. I see her. I feel her innately in my bones, in my heart.
that it took me to freaking [:And I've always been motivated as far as working. That's not a thing. I'm a worker. Anyone you ever meet who knows me or my husband will say, "Yep, they're, they work. they're workers." that's not what I mean. But finding things that actually brought me joy and figuring out how to do things with them I'm having so much fun.
t make you a little curious. [:He built it, I decorated it, painted it, did the stuff. My gardens, I had a plan. I knew what I wanted. And that I've had for a couple of years, but every year I have a new vision. I know exactly what I want it to look like, and I have a- an amazing husband who is so nice to me, and he says, "Sure, babes. We're just gonna go make that."
"Okay, cool. Thank you And he helps me build the things that I want And he helps me bring my dreams into a reality. And my dreams to other people probably don't look like much. But you know what? They look like a lot to me. Oh, look, I get to sell my little tinctures and my body scrubs and my foods and cookies and whatever.
My fire cider, my beeswax wraps. My chive salt actually sold like crazy this past weekend.
other people, that makes me [:It does not make you selfish. It does not make you stepping out of God's will for your life
It's actually implementing some of your own will into your life because we are not drone worker bees. You're allowed to be creative. You're allowed to make space in this world for yourself to be who you wanna be
It's okay to be these people It's okay to see yourself going somewhere because you're allowed to And so as you've listened today, I just want you to remember something like you don't need every healing modality. You don't need to spend thousands of dollars. You don't need to have a perfect morning routine.
your daily practice or your [:Something that you can root in that you know makes you feel good, grounded, and loved about yourself
It's okay And you can release parts of your fears, your self-doubt, your self-hatred, your fear, your s- anxieties, feeling stuck, unworthy, and start releasing some of that stuff. And know that you're loved. at the end of the day, just know that you are loved. You are loved by your creator. You are loved by people around you, even when you don't think you are
And then you can rise right back up into that next version of yourself. Maybe your next step is therapy. Maybe your next step is life coaching. Maybe it's a journal. Maybe it's a support group or a walk outside Maybe it's simply just taking a breath, a mindful, intentional breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
ble. Release the pressure to [:I'm completely healed from the things that I had going on in my life in the past. But everyone is always a healing in process. Everyone is always a healing in progress
none of us get healed and then never get scathed again. I healed from my past traumas as far as childhood traumas or teenage traumas, marriage traumas, relational traumas, but it doesn't mean that new ones don't pop up all the time to some degree. and there'll always be something, but I always feel grateful that I have given myself tools and modalities to be able to go ahead and start processing through these things.
faith to know that I can be [:That is what Jesus always said. " It is your faith that has healed you." It's not always the modality. It's actually probably most often never the modality. It's your faith behind the modality that it's going to work for you.
just know that by your faith you can be healed. Pick something to help you get there Rise into the woman that you're becoming because she's already there and she's simply just waiting for you to meet her. Because you're not stuck, you're becoming. And I'll see you in the next episode
