Speaker:Well, welcome girls.
Speaker:Thank you. Hi. Hello.
Speaker:How are you doing today?
Speaker:Good.
Speaker:How was school?
Speaker:Normal.
Speaker:Normal.
Speaker:Normal.
Speaker:We did school stuff.
Speaker:Yeah, normal school.
Speaker:What was your favorite part about school?
Speaker:School.
Speaker:Lunch.
Speaker:School lunch.
Speaker:Yeah, lunch definitely.
Speaker:Not recess.
Speaker:I had pea tea and jade.
Speaker:No, it's still cold.
Speaker:Ew.
Speaker:Well, my lunch today was pizza.
Speaker:I didn't have lunch.
Speaker:Sounds good.
Speaker:Noice.
Speaker:I had no lunch today.
Speaker:Noice.
Speaker:Ha ha.
Speaker:Oh yeah, but you did have pretzels.
Speaker:So Hattie and Molly, you guys have been friends basically your entire life.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:What do you think makes that special between you two?
Speaker:Because we never see each other.
Speaker:Can you explain about that more like?
Speaker:Because we never see each other and it's hard for us to not get along.
Speaker:Okay.
Speaker:The reason why is like we have so many similarities.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And we just get along very well together.
Speaker:What are some of your similarities?
Speaker:We're girls.
Speaker:We're girls.
Speaker:We're girls.
Speaker:We're...
Speaker:We both...
Speaker:We're both the youngest.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:We both have three siblings that are older than us.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:What's it like being the youngest?
Speaker:Terrible and bad.
Speaker:Good and terrible too.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So can you explain why you don't see each other that often?
Speaker:Because we live so far away and we don't go to the same school.
Speaker:We don't go anywhere together really.
Speaker:Our parents are party poopers so that's...
Speaker:Taking shots at the parents.
Speaker:That's part of the thing.
Speaker:Oh okay.
Speaker:Okay.
Speaker:So you don't go to the same school?
Speaker:No.
Speaker:And you don't...
Speaker:No.
Speaker:You don't see each other that much?
Speaker:No.
Speaker:Not really.
Speaker:Not really.
Speaker:Other than the fair and...
Speaker:Now.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:How was the fair when you guys went to it?
Speaker:Pretty good.
Speaker:What'd you guys do?
Speaker:Tased Reagan.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:I bet Reagan really enjoyed that one.
Speaker:And had a sleepover.
Speaker:Have a sleepover.
Speaker:I had a sleepover in my camper.
Speaker:Oh no.
Speaker:Okay.
Speaker:So what about not seeing each other that often?
Speaker:What makes that special about when you do get to see each other?
Speaker:Because it just makes it fun.
Speaker:It just makes it so much better because we never get to see each other and it's nice
Speaker:to actually see each other for once.
Speaker:I'd say it's because like...
Speaker:It's like Christmas.
Speaker:Like if we had Christmas every day it wouldn't be that fun.
Speaker:So since we don't see each other every day...
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:It's fun.
Speaker:Just like to see each other once and do something.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Even though it's for a very short time.
Speaker:Yeah guys.
Speaker:That's our parents.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:That's our parents.
Speaker:It's not us.
Speaker:Of course.
Speaker:In school.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So what... can you name a couple things about each other that you like?
Speaker:Funniness.
Speaker:Definitely.
Speaker:We definitely share that.
Speaker:Yes.
Speaker:Definitely.
Speaker:Weirdness.
Speaker:Yes.
Speaker:That's true.
Speaker:That's true.
Speaker:Craziness.
Speaker:Craziness.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Craziness.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Craziness.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Craziness.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Craziness.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Well really...
Speaker:Craziness.
Speaker:We're mostly more crazy when we're together.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:We're just... yeah.
Speaker:Like partners in crime.
Speaker:Yes.
Speaker:My girl.
Speaker:Do you have like a favorite memory together or like something you guys like to do together
Speaker:a lot?
Speaker:Umm...
Speaker:Not right now but...
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:We might have some later.
Speaker:But yeah.
Speaker:Think about it.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Just... yeah.
Speaker:We'll think about it.
Speaker:Just think about it.
Speaker:Wait.
Speaker:We were just trying to babysit you.
Speaker:Oh.
Speaker:And you were coming over and our bunk bed was like half built.
Speaker:It was like bottom bed and like two...
Speaker:I don't think I remember that but still.
Speaker:And you were on the bed and... because you are afraid of Casey.
Speaker:Casey was a pretty scary dog.
Speaker:Okay yeah.
Speaker:She was.
Speaker:It was very scary.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Didn't she bite you?
Speaker:Especially for like a three year old.
Speaker:Didn't she bite you at one point?
Speaker:No that was math.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:She bit math or she tried to...
Speaker:Tried to...
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:She bit the mailman.
Speaker:Okay.
Speaker:For a three year old that's very scary for a three year old.
Speaker:Okay.
Speaker:You're right.
Speaker:You're right.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Makes sense.
Speaker:So do you want to start asking some pop quiz questions?
Speaker:Yes.
Speaker:Sure.
Speaker:Sure.
Speaker:While you think about your memories.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Sounds good.
Speaker:We have many memories.
Speaker:Oh wait.
Speaker:I do remember that time where we were out on the trampoline and...
Speaker:Oh yeah.
Speaker:We were...
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And then my eyes were closed so I fell off of the trampoline.
Speaker:Why would you be jumping on the trampoline with your eyes closed?
Speaker:Okay because we were playing dead man with Reagan.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And then my eyes were closed.
Speaker:I don't remember this.
Speaker:Wait.
Speaker:Was it their net on the trampoline?
Speaker:No.
Speaker:Huh?
Speaker:There was a net on the trampoline.
Speaker:So I was...
Speaker:Smart ideas.
Speaker:I had my eyes closed and then I walked off the edge of it.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Whose idea was it to play?
Speaker:I think it was Reagan's.
Speaker:Poor guy.
Speaker:I do not remember this memory so I'm claiming my not me about it.
Speaker:It was either me or Reagan.
Speaker:I think it was Molly because I don't even think that we knew about dead man before.
Speaker:Oh yeah.
Speaker:Because you guys didn't have the...
Speaker:I don't think you had that trampoline for that long.
Speaker:No.
Speaker:Just because we didn't have the net and we just didn't.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:You guys want to get to your pop quiz?
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Okay so your first question is if you had to teach a class on one thing what would it
Speaker:be?
Speaker:Reading.
Speaker:I'm the best at reading.
Speaker:Reading.
Speaker:Yes.
Speaker:Reading is so fun.
Speaker:I'm reading on a sixth grade level.
Speaker:Technically middle school because I've checked out on the grade school.
Speaker:Okay.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:We get it.
Speaker:We get it.
Speaker:We get it.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Alright.
Speaker:Alright.
Speaker:Alright.
Speaker:Second question.
Speaker:What would be your best day ever?
Speaker:What?
Speaker:Like a best day ever.
Speaker:Oh.
Speaker:What would you do during that day?
Speaker:Be with you.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Be with her and...
Speaker:What would you do together?
Speaker:Be crazy.
Speaker:I would like we would probably go to movies maybe.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And like...
Speaker:Like dancing.
Speaker:Maybe because I mean like staying the night it's not like a day thing but still.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Or like spend like a week together.
Speaker:So like a week off school.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:A week is not a day but okay.
Speaker:That's okay.
Speaker:Yeah we get it.
Speaker:We get it.
Speaker:Same thing.
Speaker:Next question.
Speaker:Yes.
Speaker:So you just like hanging out with each other a lot mostly?
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Like what are the besties?
Speaker:What do you value most in your friends?
Speaker:We don't know what that means.
Speaker:So like what are the best qualities of people can have as a friend?
Speaker:We already did that.
Speaker:Craziness, weirdness.
Speaker:No that's like what you guys like about each other.
Speaker:What's your favorite...
Speaker:Okay the best part...
Speaker:Like...
Speaker:Like they have to be nice or like you know like...
Speaker:Uh yeah.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Just yeah.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:What is your most treasured possession?
Speaker:Oh.
Speaker:What did you say?
Speaker:Most treasured possession.
Speaker:What's a possession?
Speaker:Like something you have.
Speaker:Her.
Speaker:What's your favorite?
Speaker:Yeah her.
Speaker:Her.
Speaker:That's like an object.
Speaker:It's like this inanimate object.
Speaker:So like not living.
Speaker:Oh.
Speaker:Oh.
Speaker:I don't have one.
Speaker:Um.
Speaker:Um.
Speaker:Our house.
Speaker:Something that's specifically yours.
Speaker:Oh.
Speaker:Oh.
Speaker:Or a present that you got or something.
Speaker:Uh.
Speaker:It's like we have the same mind because we say the same things like at the exact same
Speaker:time.
Speaker:Okay yeah.
Speaker:Um.
Speaker:Hard.
Speaker:I know.
Speaker:Because I'm spoiled with a lot of things.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Um.
Speaker:Specifically ours.
Speaker:So maybe you're like...
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:That's confusing.
Speaker:Definitely.
Speaker:It's hard.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Which talent would you most like to have?
Speaker:Uh.
Speaker:Um.
Speaker:Either.
Speaker:Okay there's two I might have.
Speaker:Either doing the splits or...
Speaker:You already know how to do it.
Speaker:Barely.
Speaker:Or liking writing.
Speaker:Yeah I love to write.
Speaker:I absolutely hate writing.
Speaker:Okay back story on the splits.
Speaker:The other night they were together.
Speaker:And ten minute split video.
Speaker:Ten minute splits.
Speaker:I'm only a couple inches now.
Speaker:Tutorial.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Oh.
Speaker:I'm only like.
Speaker:You gotta keep watching those ten minute videos you know.
Speaker:Yeah I know.
Speaker:Keep stretching.
Speaker:Oh gosh it hurts so much.
Speaker:That hurts so much.
Speaker:My arms my neck.
Speaker:My arm.
Speaker:My arm for that.
Speaker:My arm for that.
Speaker:It's so old already.
Speaker:I can tell that your neck would hurt.
Speaker:I can't even stand up by myself.
Speaker:And I haven't since like I was five.
Speaker:Do you guys have anything else you would like to add while you're here?
Speaker:Um.
Speaker:No.
Speaker:Not really.
Speaker:No not really.
Speaker:Sup guys.
Speaker:What?
Speaker:Alright.
Speaker:Well thank you for being on the show.
Speaker:Thank you.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:You're welcome.
Speaker:Alright we'll see you later.
Speaker:See ya.
Speaker:Bye.
Speaker:See ya.
Speaker:We're leaving.
Speaker:Toodaloo.
Speaker:Toodaloo.
Speaker:Bye bye.
Speaker:Alright now we're gonna talk.
Speaker:Um so what have you been enjoying recently?
Speaker:Um.
Speaker:I think just I don't know school's pretty boring but like hanging out with my friends
Speaker:and like talking during classes and stuff is a lot better.
Speaker:What about you?
Speaker:Um.
Speaker:Well my winter percussion season's starting up here.
Speaker:Like full swing next week when we're getting into like all of our practices.
Speaker:Baseball is in full swing right now with our winter practices.
Speaker:It's really really busy.
Speaker:But it's fun.
Speaker:I enjoy it.
Speaker:I like doing stuff all the time.
Speaker:I can't just like sit still and do nothing.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Me too.
Speaker:What's what's what's being what's challenging to you right now though?
Speaker:All my okay school is just like everything is just hard like some of it I feel like I
Speaker:don't know.
Speaker:Getting all the work done and like having the energy to do my homework.
Speaker:What classes are you taking?
Speaker:Um I have history honors English.
Speaker:Uh algebra biology ag Spanish and art.
Speaker:We don't we don't take history at Goshen until 10th grade.
Speaker:Oh I enjoy history.
Speaker:I wish I could I wish I could have taken history this year.
Speaker:Yeah we have a choice.
Speaker:You can do it freshman or sophomore.
Speaker:They didn't let us do that.
Speaker:Um is there anything that you would want to like do over in your life.
Speaker:Not really.
Speaker:I don't know.
Speaker:There's not.
Speaker:I feel like I'm kind of young.
Speaker:I have no regrets.
Speaker:What about you.
Speaker:Um I don't know.
Speaker:Maybe taking baseball more seriously when I was little instead just like messing around
Speaker:more.
Speaker:I think I could be way better but can't can't go back.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So I got to deal with it.
Speaker:I got to push harder.
Speaker:Do you have any goals right now.
Speaker:Um so for baseball is probably a big one.
Speaker:I'm trying to throw off the mound try to hit 80 miles an hour by the end of the season.
Speaker:So right now I'm sitting at like 73 which is good.
Speaker:Um that's like a kind of a shorter long term goal but like a goal.
Speaker:I'm trying to end up playing college.
Speaker:So it's like four years down the road.
Speaker:I'm trying to pass all my classes with good grades A's and B's.
Speaker:There's stuff like that.
Speaker:How about you.
Speaker:Yeah I would agree.
Speaker:Stuff like with tennis for me.
Speaker:Just the season hasn't started yet but getting myself like working out and getting better
Speaker:before the season starts so I can actually play.
Speaker:And I would say like a long long term goal going to college.
Speaker:But yeah that's pretty far in the future so.
Speaker:How good is Fairfield's top tennis.
Speaker:Um I don't really know like girls tennis.
Speaker:I don't really know since I have never actually watched them play but boys tennis is pretty good.
Speaker:Our number one singles went to the state semifinals this year.
Speaker:So that was yeah.
Speaker:What is one thing you like about Fairfield.
Speaker:Um I like the classes that we have because like ag classes and vet classes a lot of schools don't have.
Speaker:And so like because of our a lot of our kids are more like country and like yeah.
Speaker:So a lot of there's like a lot of people in ag classes and it's fun because that's a lot of my interest.
Speaker:Yeah Goshen doesn't have any of that.
Speaker:You just have like your kind of your basic flight plan if you want to call it that.
Speaker:Like I'm taking engineering right now.
Speaker:That's that's going good I guess.
Speaker:Last year one of our like this bridge building team I guess or like this some sort of engineering team that Goshen has went to national finals for like bridge building.
Speaker:That sounds cool.
Speaker:I might end up doing something like that.
Speaker:That's interesting.
Speaker:Yeah Fairfield has like engineering classes but we don't really like it's just sort of like a class you don't really do that much.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:If you were given five hundred dollars right now what would you do with it.
Speaker:Five hundred dollars.
Speaker:I'd actually probably save it.
Speaker:So our school does this thing with Goshen College where they take a group of kids down to Key West Florida for like a marine biology trip and they go like snorkeling.
Speaker:And they help out at this marine by this marine hospital like sea turtles and stuff.
Speaker:So I'm wanting to go on that next year.
Speaker:So I'm just trying to save up money and make some money for that.
Speaker:Because I'm going to it's not cheap.
Speaker:It's pretty expensive.
Speaker:I'd probably just save it.
Speaker:That's what I would do.
Speaker:What about you.
Speaker:I think first I would tithe some.
Speaker:And then I would probably save it too.
Speaker:For like.
Speaker:Calves.
Speaker:Other forage projects down the road.
Speaker:Forage projects.
Speaker:Yes.
Speaker:That's a busy part of the life too.
Speaker:When do you do you already have forage animals.
Speaker:Not yet.
Speaker:We're doing we're doing swine this year for the first time.
Speaker:Just me and Hattie.
Speaker:But we're going to get our calves in the spring sometime late spring.
Speaker:We're doing swine and cows.
Speaker:Yes we're doing dairy feeder and swine.
Speaker:But our swine I don't even know when we get swine.
Speaker:But.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:You know what time it is.
Speaker:I think it's time for the dudes and dads pop quiz.
Speaker:I agree.
Speaker:I actually have to find questions I don't have any.
Speaker:All right.
Speaker:Let me find you first.
Speaker:I'll ask you earlier before the show we were asking the girls some questions.
Speaker:So what's the best piece of advice you ever been given.
Speaker:What was it.
Speaker:What was it.
Speaker:I don't know.
Speaker:I can't really think of one.
Speaker:That's a hard one.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Oh like stick to your gut.
Speaker:Don't double.
Speaker:Once you start double thinking yourself.
Speaker:It's when you get confused and just stick to what you believe.
Speaker:Just just take it wherever it goes and just deal with what happens.
Speaker:That's good.
Speaker:If you could be guaranteed one thing in life besides money what would it be.
Speaker:I'd say just.
Speaker:Like.
Speaker:A job like a good a good job job like something that I would want.
Speaker:Not something that I just do to make.
Speaker:That's a good answer.
Speaker:Okay.
Speaker:When you think about success who comes to mind and why.
Speaker:Success.
Speaker:I don't know.
Speaker:Just popped in my mind.
Speaker:Elon Musk since you know he started in the.
Speaker:He started.
Speaker:He was living in his own office for one point investing everything into his company.
Speaker:At one point he had to decide on what if you want to do SpaceX or Tesla.
Speaker:But then he decided to split his money.
Speaker:And now he's one of the richest people in the world.
Speaker:So I think that's pretty successful.
Speaker:That's good.
Speaker:I find a good question.
Speaker:If you had to leave all but three apps from your smartphone which ones would you keep.
Speaker:Oh that's hard.
Speaker:Messages definitely because that's how I talk to like everybody.
Speaker:The Bible app.
Speaker:That's important.
Speaker:Or you could just like have your own Bible like a.
Speaker:Well yeah but like what if I forget my Bible like I need it when I don't have it.
Speaker:Okay.
Speaker:And.
Speaker:I don't even know.
Speaker:I don't have that many like.
Speaker:Or apps.
Speaker:Yeah I'd say that just those two.
Speaker:Let me.
Speaker:Okay this is our last question.
Speaker:I have a final.
Speaker:Which words or phrases do you most overuse.
Speaker:Um.
Speaker:Yeah me too.
Speaker:I use um a lot.
Speaker:And me I like to say.
Speaker:Um.
Speaker:Um um um um.
Speaker:I like to say that's an issue not an ish me.
Speaker:That's my favorite.
Speaker:Um.
Speaker:So that's that was our pop quiz.
Speaker:Next episode.
Speaker:Andy and Joel will be back.
Speaker:Hopefully.
Speaker:Or maybe we'll just take their jobs forever.
Speaker:So.
Speaker:I don't need.
Speaker:Email us at dudes and dads podcast at gmail dot com or visit us at dudes and dads podcast dot com.
Speaker:I'm.
Speaker:I'm.
Speaker:I'm.
