Shownotes
In this episode, Emily & James visit with fellow political scientist Dr. Ken Kickham from the University of Central Oklahoma. Dr. Kickham discusses the various approaches to conducting political science research, his preference for participating on research teams, and some political scientists that influenced his understanding of how to conduct good research.
Along the way, they discuss the tension between being a good researcher and being a public intellectual, the pros & cons of the positivist approach to research, and the failure of political science research to impact public discussions of various issues.
