Finding time to take care of yourself is essential. You will find balance when you take care of the "pillars" of your life. Faith - Family/Friends - Fitness - and Career. By taking care of each area, research has proven that you will have less stress, better health, and more energy by incorporating these areas into your life.
- Faith - Take time daily for prayer, meditation, singing, journaling, and connecting to your Creator. Finding 5-15 minutes each day will keep you grounded, give you a sense of purpose, and not have you feeling alone in your daily trials and challenges.
- Family/Friends - Take time each week to enjoy your relationships. Find time to laugh and connect with your people. Make it fun or schedule time to make sure that it happens. Isolation is rampant, even when you live with others, because of the many distractions that are coming at you all day. Again, research shows reduced stress and more energy when we step out of ourselves and connect with those we love.
- Fitness - Making some level of fitness into your daily routine strengthens your body, mind, heart, and soul. Taking a simple stroll around your neighborhood, stepping away from your desk to stretch and move, or 100 crunches before bed will get your blood flowing and invigorate your spirit.
- Career - Make a daily practice of finding those areas of your job that bring joy or a sense of purpose. Add more of those aspects into your day-to-day routines. If your job is a drain, but you need the income, find activities outside of your job to fill that creative aspect of your life.
Simple changes lead to big results. Remember you are worth self-care because you are worthy and essential.
