Transcripts

Virginia:

This week A I C C is hosting our spring meeting, so I'm in Miami with

Virginia:

over 700 of your fellow members it's only Monday and I'm already losing my voice.

Virginia:

So I'm going to keep this update short and sweet so I can get back to the

Virginia:

networking and educational sessions and let you get back to your day.

Virginia:

Customers today want to know more than that you use renewable

Virginia:

and recyclable resources.

Virginia:

They wanna know the details and the numbers, and that means you

Virginia:

need someone to track the numbers internally and someone who can

Virginia:

explain those numbers to the customer.

Virginia:

A I C C has partnered with the packaging school to offer you

Virginia:

a carbon neutrality program.

Virginia:

It's an online training series that culminates with a live meeting

Virginia:

during the A I C C 2023 fall meeting If a customer has ever asked you,

Virginia:

how can we be more sustainable?

Virginia:

It's not a one-time discussion within the packaging development process.

Virginia:

It's an important and complex conversation , and the conversation

Virginia:

needs to begin during the packaging concept phase with a focus on both the

Virginia:

beginning and end of a package's life.

Virginia:

You can clearly show how this will greatly minimize its impact on the planet

Virginia:

and allow you to serve your customers and brand messaging responsibly.

Virginia:

There are four phases to the carbon neutrality program, and it'll allow

Virginia:

you to define the key terminology, construct UN based sustainability

Virginia:

targets and goals, develop sustainable system design on the material level,

Virginia:

and measure the carbon footprint of the packaging, and then select relevant offset

Virginia:

programs to achieve carbon neutrality.

Virginia:

At a per product or box level.

Virginia:

To learn more about the program, visit AIC box.org/carbon.

Virginia:

We also have a free webinar coming up, shop floor operators and

Virginia:

what they expect today regarding company recruitment and retention.

Virginia:

On Wednesday, May 10th.

Virginia:

The last few years have shown that in-person employment and the

Virginia:

conventional 40 hour work week are not necessarily what you need

Virginia:

to build a high performing team.

Virginia:

And companies worried about recruitment and retention.

Virginia:

Recognize that.

Virginia:

So A I C C technical advisor, Tom Webber, is going to review some trends that he

Virginia:

has witnessed recently that can act as powerful differentiators for companies

Virginia:

that want to maintain an edge when recruiting and retaining their employees.

Virginia:

You can learn more about this webinar and all upcoming AIC

Virginia:

C events at aic c box.org.
