Shownotes

In this Timeless Voyager Interview (circa 1995), host, Bruce Stephen Holms examines “Is the Bible fact or fiction?” through the eyes of Dr. Arthur Melville, an ordained priest who as a Catholic missionary in Guatemala from 1961 to 1968 risked his life to make the country a better place.

Melville completed nine arduous years of seminary training in the U.S., graduating at age 28. After an intensive six-month Spanish language program in Huehuetenango, Melville was sent to San Sebastian, a small town or `pueblo' in western Guatemala, about 30 miles from the western coast. Arthur was a psychotherapist and a true humanitarian.

During the interview he sheds new light on the practice of meditation, concepts of belief, truth, and faith. However, if you are expecting the usual “Catholic” definitions, prepare for a shock!

Arthur was a psychotherapist and he is very clear that beliefs are learned. The dialogue between Bruce and Arthur is really interesting and definitely will challenge the beliefs of Christians and Catholics alike. Melville even defines spirituality and explains Shamanism in very clear “first hand” experiences that he had while in Guatemala.

You won’t be able to listen to this interview once. Most people who have open minds find the program to be interesting, educational, and at times, shocking!
