Shownotes

Pastor Bob Thibodeau emphasizes the critical importance of taking action rather than waiting for perfection in your business endeavors. He encourages listeners to launch their projects even if they feel they aren't fully ready, as the fear of imperfection can lead to missed opportunities and zero sales. By sharing his own experiences of overcoming hesitation, he illustrates that getting feedback and engaging with your audience can lead to growth and improvement. Pastor Bob highlights the value of personal interaction and responsiveness in building relationships and trust with potential clients. The episode serves as a motivating call to action for anyone who has been hesitant to start, reminding them that the journey begins with that first step, even if it's not perfect.

Takeaways:

  • Starting your business doesn't require perfection; it just needs to be good enough to begin.

  • Responding to questions personally can build trust and improve your connection with your audience.
  • Don't let fear of imperfection stop you from sharing your expertise and starting your journey.
  • The key to success lies in taking action, even if it's not perfectly executed right away.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Hello, everyone, everywhere.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Pastor Bob Thibodeau here.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Welcome to the Faith Based Business podcast.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Today.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

We're so blessed that you're joining us.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

We're just jump right into it.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Amen.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I've been telling you how you can keep expanding your niche and your trainings.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And in our last session, I shared with you the importance of just launch it, okay?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And see what happens.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

So once you have everything ready, I mean, it does not have to be perfect.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

It just means to be good enough.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

It does not have to be perfect.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Let me say that again so you understand what I'm saying.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

It does not have to be perfect.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

It just must.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Must be good enough to get the information out there.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Amen.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Let me go ahead and share this screen and we'll jump into this training here today.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Amen.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Move this down so you can see me.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I like looking at you too.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Okay.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

But once you've reached that stage where it's just good enough.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Good enough to get out there, the next step is for you to just pull the trigger and get started.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And the reason I'm stressing this right now is I've discovered that a big percentage of people out there right now are looking for this kind of information, but they haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I mean, they.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

They've.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

They've gone through the entire setup.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

They got their funnel, but yeah, needs to tweak here.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Maybe this needs to be, you know, a different shade of green or whatever the case may be.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And they keep putting off pulling the trigger because they're afraid that it might not be perfect.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Well, guess what?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

It doesn't have to be perfect.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Amen.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

They're afraid of pulling the trigger.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And until you actually pull the trigger, you will have absolutely zero sales.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Zero.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Zero niche, nada, nothing.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Whatever you want to call it, it still equals zero.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Amen.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

When I got started in this business, I hardly moved anything.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Okay.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I was so afraid that, you know, it's got to be perfect is the colors right, is the font right, Are the pictures good enough?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I knew really in my heart that the best way would just to be get it out there and then start asking people questions about what they thought about it.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Let me.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Let me share this.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Okay.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I remember when I first got started, I had a small email list, even smaller than the one I got now.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Praise God.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

But I keep purging it, but I set up an Aspay.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Actually, it wasn't an ask page, it was an Opt in page, but works the same way, right?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And I was getting a few subscribers, so under the promptings, I guess you could say, of my mentor, Sean Mize, at the time.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Now I started asking people what they thought, right?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

It was.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

It's just a basic topic, you know, I'm saying very, very basic topic dealing with podcasting and podcast interviews.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Amen.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

But I was sent an email to the few people that I had on my email list.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I think I had less than a hundred at the time.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And I sent them email every day.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

No, it wasn't every day.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Sometimes it was every day.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

But every two days, sometimes, every third day, I was sending an email with this tidbit of useful information dealing with podcasting or podcast interviews.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Where was I getting my information from?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I didn't know everything about this at the time either, right?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

So I would just go online and I'd study a topic, a particular topic, Google it.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I'd read some articles, read a few blog posts, and then I'd respond.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And I get on somebody's email list and look at their trainings, and I'd even purchase trainings, okay.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Then I take the information I learned and kind of summarize it and then put it out in an email and say, this is how you do this, right?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And I built trust and relationship that way.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

What I was actually doing, I was actually doing research on issues people had problems with, okay?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And I would be giving them a quick answer to the problem maybe with, you know, they'd email me and say, well, I am having a problem setting up this kind of microphone on this Windows operating system, and I can't figure out how to make it work.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

So I go research it, and then I give them three or four pointers on getting it to work.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And they were getting quick answers to their problems.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And that's what the folks were really looking for, quick answers to simple problems.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Amen.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

So I started sending out an email and.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And said, you know, hey, what's your biggest challenge with xyz?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Then I would put out a promise in the email and say at the end of the email, I say, if you'll answer this question for me and respond to me within the next 24 hours, I promise I will personally respond to you by email.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And what happened was, you know, people would give me these questions.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

You know, two, three questions come in every week like that, and I put them all on a Word document.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

As they come in, I just start going down the list I go through.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

If I knew the answer, I could respond immediately.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Amen.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Because I've already got some experience in the air, and I've already done some Research in the area.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

If I did not know the answer, then I do the research.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I would go research the answer and then get back to that person personally in an email.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

This is something we talked about this last week or week before.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Something that most marketers just do not do is personally respond, right?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I was personally responding to these people.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And, you know, if.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

If it wasn't on that exact day, it was the next day or so after.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Right?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

But in the process of doing this, I was learning the very things people wanted to know about podcasting, about podcast interviews.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And I had people now coming to me and asking me to do more than just teach them.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Okay.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

But they just didn't want me to send them a PDF or, you know, a video series.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

They wanted me to personally take them by the hand and lead them and coach them so they could have this set up themselves.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I turned down, believe it or not, I turned down someone who wanted to pay me $2,000 about three weeks ago to personally coach them and get.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Help them get their podcast.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I don't have time to do that anymore.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

That's the reason we do videos, because you can go step by step through the video.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

If you have a problem, email me, I'll answer the problem.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

That's.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I have to do that now because I am so busy with everything we have going on now in our ministry and in the training programs.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Amen.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

But if you're not that busy, you could personally answer their questions and you could personally coach them.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

How would that make you feel to have a couple people every week reach out, say, will you personally coach me?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

What do you charge?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And they're willing to pay it.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Amen.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

If I'm speaking to you right now, right now, and you're someone who's been trying to get started, say, for the last six months, last year, two years, three years, whatever, and you've never actually pulled the trigger.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

I'm speaking directly to you right now.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Okay.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Wouldn't you be far better off just to start?

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Even though it's not set up perfect yet, even though you don't know as much as you think you want to know right now, wouldn't it be worth your time to just ask a few questions to however many numbers you have on your email list right now, it's a hundred or three hundred or whatever.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Just ask a couple of simple questions, let them answer, then you, you know what their questions are.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

You answer those questions, do the research.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

If you don't know the answer, do the research the same way I just shared a minute ago.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And Maybe two, three, five, six months where you'll.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

You'll be able to take people by the hand and charge them as your coach, as your.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

As their mentor.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

You are now their coach and mentor, and they are begging you, literally begging you to coach them.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

You can take this business as far as you want to go, folks, but it has to have a beginning somewhere.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

You have to start somewhere.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

That's what I'm talking about.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And that somewhere starts right now.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Right now.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

And I'll take it up again there next time.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Amen.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Praise the Lord.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

If this has resonated with you today, email me.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:

Email me Bob podcastsforchrist.com Tell me, Bob, that was awesome.

Pastor Bob Thibodeau:
