Welcome to Day 1305 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.

This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom

Express Gratitude – Wisdom Unplugged

Wisdom - the final frontier to true knowledge. Welcome to Wisdom-Trek! Where our mission is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1305 of our Trek, and it is time for our 3-minute mini trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from  Michael Josephson, and it is:  A person of character feels and expresses gratitude freely and frequently.

Express Gratitude

A person who is truly grateful for all that they have in life not only feels grateful, but also expresses gratitude, first of all, to God, and then to others who have positively impacted their lives. Another sign of a person who is truly grateful is that they frequently give thanks. Sure, it is easy to be thankful when all is going well, but what about the times of anxiety, hardship, illness, and loss? I know, it is difficult when you are overwhelmed, tired, or not feeling well to continually give thanks. When you are struggling, it is important to establish or continue habits that will help you to overcome these issues. You must invest in yourself. Get adequate sleep, exercise on a regular basis, eat nutritious, wholesome foods, read encouraging and beneficial information, minimize the negative influence in your life, and, most of all, feed your mind with what is good and Godly.   Here are a couple of passages that will help you to get started on shifting your mindset if you find it difficult to be grateful for everything.

Ephesians 5:20

And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. If you need help with changing your mindset and building character – dwell on Philippians 4:4-9

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!  Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ, Jesus.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
