Michelle is joined by Ayana Nathan, and she talks about her journey from purpose to professional alignment. Ayana shares her passion for helping people, leading a team, and what professional legacy she wants to leave. Purpose is what drives us to do the things we do. It's the reason we wake up in the morning and go to work. And it's what motivates us to keep going when the going gets tough. But often, our sense of purpose can get lost in the day-to-day grind of work. That's why it's so important to take the time to reflect on what we're doing and why we're doing it. It's also important to align our passions with our profession. When our work is in alignment with our deepest desires, we are more likely to feel fulfilled and satisfied.
Ayana is responsible for developing and implementing the Healthcare solutions and service strategy and commercialization plan for Siemens Smart Infrastructure (SI), including the Regional Solutions & Services (RSS) Americas business unit (which includes the building automation, fire life safety, security portfolio) as well as the Electrical Products, Electrification & Automation, Digital Grid and eMobility businesses. She leads a team of Business Developers, Marketing & Communications Managers and Portfolio Management to develop and grow
the Siemens’ Smart Healthcare strategy.
Episode Highlights:
05:41 - What makes my heart sing is when I could help others, but that`s where my family is. We`re always helping people. So, whether I’m at work, at church, it doesn’t matter, with my family, friends, relationships; I’m always trying to help.
08:44 - One thing about it is integrity in your work, integrity in your character and all this type of stuff. When you apply all of that to your work, your day to day work, that pays off and where you build a reputation. People will know you for what you’re good at and start thinking about you [for opportunities].
14:25 - It`s in how you deliver it, you don't have to agree with someone`s lifestyle, with someone`s approach to doing things but you have to show them that I respect you as an individual…. I think we people take the tension out of our differences and out of the different places we come from, when we have a different perspective, take the tense out of that and just recognize it as a difference, and treat the person as a human being.
24:09 - At the end of the day no matter what the make up, the background, my love for people is what`s going to show, I don’t have to know you to love you.
