Hey, everybody out there.

2

:

Welcome back to the show.

3

:

As always, I am very excited because

today we have another really amazing

4

:

guest on her name is Colleen Biggs,

and she is a business peak performance

5

:

coach and business consultant who has

been in the industry for over 20 years.

6

:

Who?

7

:

Colleen, it's amazing

to have you on today.

8

:

Thanks for joining us.

9

:

audioColleenBiggs_col32726526204:

Hi Chris.

10

:

Thanks.

11

:

I am super excited to be here.

12

:

Yours was one of the podcasts that I'm on

this first quarter that I was excited and.

13

:

Looking forward to, because I read

all of your stuff and I love your

14

:

authenticity and everything about you.

15

:

audioChrisJolly42726526204: Thank

you so much and we're really

16

:

excited to have you on as well.

17

:

I know especially with all your

experience, you're gonna have a lot of

18

:

great wisdom for our audience out there.

19

:

A lot of wonderful Jens, and, probably

some different wins and challenges

20

:

that they can really relate with.

21

:

So why don't you tell everybody a little

bit more about who you are, what you do,

22

:

who you help, and all that great stuff.

23

:

audioColleenBiggs_col32726526204: Great.

24

:

Thank you so much.

25

:

I started back really in 2000 and

two when I joined a company called

26

:

The Little Gym International.

27

:

And I fell in love with

the founder's vision.

28

:

So I think it's important for us one,

To fall in love with the passion of

29

:

what we're doing and at that time it was

the vision of the owner of the company.

30

:

So we can love our jobs, right?

31

:

In corporate America, we don't

have to be entrepreneurs to

32

:

be in love with what we do.

33

:

And I was really excited to

be able to come onto that team

34

:

because his vision was, really

providing a nurturing and safe.

35

:

Area for young children, four months

to 12 years of age to be able to fail,

36

:

to be able to recognize wins, to be

able to listen, to be able to know and

37

:

understand their spatial awareness.

38

:

It was all about these cognitive

skills that they needed to learn,

39

:

but during that time, they gained

this self-confidence and self-esteem.

40

:

I feel like it was a little mini baby

business school that I feel like a

41

:

lot of adults need to go through.

42

:

And I share that because I fell into

business consulting during my time

43

:

with this corporation and really

loved working with individual owners.

44

:

And what I found out what made

them so unique was what each one

45

:

of them brought to the table.

46

:

Their knowledge, their skills,

their experience, their background.

47

:

Every single person listening today,

that's what you bring to the table

48

:

that's different than someone else.

49

:

So that's the focus, right?

50

:

For why you are different and why you can

do it different than someone else, right?

51

:

Chris has a podcast.

52

:

I have a podcast, but I look

at his podcast and he does his

53

:

podcast different than mine.

54

:

So he's gonna attract a different

audience, then I'm going to attract.

55

:

That's what makes us different and

it makes us able to work together.

56

:

Leverage and assist each other

rather than compete with each other.

57

:

So I dropped out of Corporate

America, retired, said Kiss Corporate.

58

:

Goodbye.

59

:

Left that in 2019 , started a

community, started a live radio show.

60

:

I had no idea how to do any of that.

61

:

By the way, I just said I was a

business consultant for 20 years working

62

:

and launching over 300 businesses.

63

:

That was my skillset.

64

:

So being a podcast host,

I had no idea what to do.

65

:

But I learned, right?

66

:

Everything's figureoutable.

67

:

I had no idea how I was gonna figure out

how to run a community, but I knew this.

68

:

I already knew that I had a passion

for the last 20 years of bringing

69

:

these children together in this

safe and nurturing environment.

70

:

Why couldn't I do that for women?

71

:

Why couldn't I bring them together in

this safe and nurturing environment?

72

:

Where now they have the opportunity

to grow their business together,

73

:

collaborate together, network together,

support each other, open up doors for

74

:

opportunity for one another, and at the

same breath, they could get visibility.

75

:

So I created this community where they

were able to be on platforms to get.

76

:

Interviews, live interviews on

LinkedIn, live interviews on YouTube.

77

:

They're able to teach masterclasses.

78

:

They're in the spotlight on

newsletter, social media, blogs.

79

:

Everything we do in our community

spotlights the business owner, and

80

:

that's important because, If any of you

have ever opened a business, it's not.

81

:

I build it and there's the website

and everyone just comes and starts

82

:

buying products and services.

83

:

It doesn't work that way.

84

:

You have to tell everyone about you and

not be the world's best kept secret.

85

:

So really that's what I do.

86

:

I take women that are the world's best

kept secret, and I get 'em out there.

87

:

So they can be seen.

88

:

They can be heard, and

they can be visible.

89

:

audioChrisJolly42726526204: I love that.

90

:

I don't know if you are familiar

with or listen to Grant Cardone

91

:

at all, but one of the things that

he talks about is that it's the.

92

:

Problem that you have is not

that you're not doing sales.

93

:

It's not that your product

isn't great, the problem is

94

:

that nobody knows who you are.

95

:

And if you're not constantly out there

telling people who you are and what your

96

:

business is, somebody else is out there

and they're gonna get the business.

97

:

audioColleenBiggs_col32726526204:

That's right.

98

:

And it's how I teach all of my

clients to get the visibility and

99

:

the success I attract my clients.

100

:

That's why I wrote a book.

101

:

I wrote a book that's called Step

Into the Spotlight, to expand your

102

:

influence to attract the right clients.

103

:

'cause no one wants to

attract the wrong clients.

104

:

You wanna attract the right clients.

105

:

So like you Chris, and why I love

the way that you write is 'cause

106

:

you write the way you speak.

107

:

So when you are authentic in the way that

you write, And the way that you speak, you

108

:

are gonna attract specific people to you.

109

:

Based on that.

110

:

If I'm out there talking about

entrepreneurs and females and growing

111

:

businesses, I'm not gonna attract

the male who's in corporate America.

112

:

It's just not gonna happen.

113

:

So you're right.

114

:

Grant Cardone, one of my favorites.

115

:

He is all to the throttle all the time.

116

:

He's right.

117

:

It's not only who you know, what you

know, but it's about who knows you, and

118

:

that's the magic factor right there.

119

:

audioChrisJolly42726526204: Absolutely.

120

:

People don't go to the McDonald's

because they have the best hamburger.

121

:

There are a million different

restaurants who make better hamburgers,

122

:

but everybody knows McDonald's.

123

:

They know what they're gonna get.

124

:

And even though the quality isn't

great, it's the knowledge of

125

:

who they are and the consistency

that kind of bring people back.

126

:

Now, I wanted to touch back on

something you said a little bit

127

:

earlier, because most entrepreneurs

don't start out doing businesses their

128

:

whole life and are always in business.

129

:

They usually have a job and then they

decide they want to do their own thing.

130

:

I feel like a lot of people get

caught up because they're like,

131

:

okay, I don't know how to do this.

132

:

You didn't know how to podcast.

133

:

You hadn't ever started

a community before.

134

:

So these are like new

challenges that can be scary.

135

:

But at the same time, you had a skillset

that you could lean on, which even

136

:

though it was something new that you

hadn't tried, you can go back and say

137

:

I already know how to do this, thi

these things, I just apply it to that.

138

:

So could you touch on that

a little bit more for us?

139

:

audioColleenBiggs_col32726526204:

Yes, Chris.

140

:

Okay, so I'm just gonna be

very vulnerable with everyone.

141

:

I have the best gift of gab.

142

:

I'm just gonna go for it in sixth grade.

143

:

I was in detention every single

day because I talked too much and

144

:

there were too many, check marks

by my name, and I thought, why is

145

:

this person trying to shut me up?

146

:

I don't understand why I don't have

the freedom to be able to speak.

147

:

Little did I know that

I was gonna go on to be.

148

:

A leader of a community to be able to

speak on a podcast that reaches millions

149

:

of people and to speak on keynote stages

where I'm reaching thousands of people.

150

:

I had no idea that's what God was

preparing me for, but I leaned on.

151

:

I knew this.

152

:

I loved being around people.

153

:

I knew that I could speak.

154

:

That I could talk, right?

155

:

And so if I knew that what I did is

I just started listening to podcasts,

156

:

I'd really never been into podcasts

up to that point other than what you

157

:

hear on the radio, live radio shows

that you hear driving to and from work.

158

:

So I started listening to them

and I will tell you what Chris.

159

:

There are a lot of not so good podcasts

out there to the point where I was like,

160

:

I think I'd rather put a fork in my eye

than listen to this podcast right now.

161

:

So I thought, oh, I can do better.

162

:

I know I can do this.

163

:

I started reading all about what

questions never to ask a guest how

164

:

you're supposed to help your guests feel.

165

:

How do you prepare your guests?

166

:

If we go back and look at my

very first radio show I ever did.

167

:

I probably said the word um, 50 million

times because it's a filler word.

168

:

So I went on to create a video to say,

here how here's how to be an expert

169

:

speaker and to avoid filler words.

170

:

And then I walked people through it.

171

:

Like you said, leaning on your

skillset if you are a numbers

172

:

person, I love numbers love numbers.

173

:

That can be something that's very

useful for you as an entrepreneur

174

:

because we have to know our numbers

and business and it's very simple.

175

:

I remember I used to do these large

lease negotiations for commercial

176

:

real estate, and some people would

think, oh my gosh, that's super scary.

177

:

It really isn't.

178

:

It comes down to the numbers.

179

:

You work out the black and white

numbers if they're gonna give you a

180

:

10 year lease, And this many dollars

of improvement, and you have to pay it

181

:

back at this rate or a 15 year lease,

and then their improvement numbers go

182

:

up and you have to pay it at this rate.

183

:

You just do the numbers and it clearly has

a path that says this is the better deal.

184

:

But most people get caught up in

the, oh, I can't really tell, and

185

:

they're giving me more money here.

186

:

But actually you don't

need that money now.

187

:

You need that money later.

188

:

So when you work out the numbers,

It works and it shows a pattern.

189

:

So we all have to know numbers.

190

:

If you're a numbers person, use that to

your advantage in anything you're doing,

191

:

whether it be production, whether it be r

o i, whether it be, your own bookkeeping.

192

:

So I love that you said rely

on what we already knew.

193

:

I knew.

194

:

I could talk.

195

:

I knew that I could make people feel

comfortable in my presence, so I

196

:

knew I had that already going for me.

197

:

Then I just had to figure out the

other logistics, and every single

198

:

thing out there is figureoutable.

199

:

But don't try to do it on your own.

200

:

I always say, get other

people involved with you.

201

:

So I started talking to other podcasters.

202

:

Hey, How do you run your podcast?

203

:

I would get on other podcasts, I

would listen to other podcasts.

204

:

I started really talking to other people

to figure out how to do it, because why

205

:

spend this time trying to figure it all

out by myself instead of employing other

206

:

people to help me out, and then now I

can move much quicker in my journey.

207

:

So that's important too.

208

:

audioChrisJolly42726526204:

Yeah, absolutely.

209

:

That's.

210

:

Pretty much the whole reason I think that

coaching exists and is valuable along

211

:

with mentorships, masterminds courses,

even books people have written because

212

:

they can take knowledge that they've

garnered through 20, 30, 40 years of hard

213

:

one hard fought experience and distill

it down into this little crystallized

214

:

version and save you the 10 or 20

years of making the mistakes yourself.

215

:

audioColleenBiggs_col32726526204:

Yeah, I wanna ask any parent out

216

:

there, would you ever have dropped off

your child at football, basketball,

217

:

tee-ball, soccer, gymnastics, dance,

any of those without a coach there?

218

:

Not one of them would've.

219

:

I wouldn't have never.

220

:

So we look at the guidance

that coach gives, right?

221

:

We look at.

222

:

That coach isn't necessarily

teaching your child how to play

223

:

the sport from beginning to end.

224

:

They're helping them hone their skills.

225

:

They're guiding them, they're

showing them, they're coaching

226

:

them through the process.

227

:

That doesn't mean that your child's

gonna come out of there being like, a

228

:

baseball player or play in the N F L.

229

:

It just means that you now have the

skills and now you can do what you

230

:

want with those to be able to hone

those to really become as financially

231

:

free as you really want to be.

232

:

Chris, there's a limited amount of money

out there that any person can tap into.

233

:

Most people don't understand

it or know how to do it.

234

:

But it's there.

235

:

audioChrisJolly42726526204: I

think that it's just a lot of

236

:

heavy conditioning for people.

237

:

Most people have been taught and

have examples around them of how

238

:

there isn't enough to go around and

how it's always a constant struggle,

239

:

and when that's hardwired into your

nervous system, that can definitely

240

:

be a challenging thing to overcome.

241

:

audioColleenBiggs_col32726526204: Yeah.

242

:

I think every single one of us that

I can, that I've ever come across,

243

:

especially my age range and my

demographic, let's just remind everyone.

244

:

I have seven kids and 12 grandkids, so

it tells you what my demographic is.

245

:

I.

246

:

Of how old I am and I'm also a female.

247

:

So I've been through a lot of

challenges as a female in corporate

248

:

America with males and all of that.

249

:

But I'll tell you this, every single

one of us were taught it's hard.

250

:

You have to work hard and

money doesn't grow on trees.

251

:

And I could go on and on about

all the farces that we were

252

:

told when we were younger.

253

:

It's very easy to tap into.

254

:

All you have to do

is, decide in your mind.

255

:

I don't wanna have those beliefs

anymore to be successful.

256

:

I have to know that.

257

:

I can do it.

258

:

I have to believe that it's possible.

259

:

I have to know that the minute I get

into action, the universe is going

260

:

to have a reaction and it's gonna

start drawing everything to me.

261

:

And I'm telling you, these miracles

happen every single day in our lives.

262

:

There hasn't been one day that I haven't

been supported and what I'm supposed

263

:

to be doing, and we're, we have these

tiny minute little brains to try and

264

:

figure out this big unfolding plan.

265

:

But the plan is in motion, and all

you have to do is take the first step.

266

:

You can't sit and manifest that

next new car in your driveway.

267

:

It doesn't work that way.

268

:

You just can't sit and

meditate it out in your office.

269

:

But if you start taking actions in the

right directions, then the doors and , the

270

:

paths will just start aligning for you.

271

:

I've seen it in my life

a thousand times over.

272

:

I literally just got a

car less than a month ago.

273

:

It was on my vision board from December.

274

:

The exact same color, the exact

same color inside, and the guy

275

:

at the dealership said, I don't

even know how you got this car.

276

:

This car should have been

outta here three weeks ago.

277

:

We had so many people look at it

and then canceled appointments.

278

:

They promised they were

coming back the next day.

279

:

He said, you are the luckiest

person that you got this car.

280

:

I said, no, I'm not lucky.

281

:

It was just here waiting for me.

282

:

I was supposed to be

the one to get this car.

283

:

So we just have to believe

that it's possible, right?

284

:

You just gotta believe.

285

:

audioChrisJolly42726526204: Absolutely.

286

:

What's meant for you will

always be meant for you.

287

:

And you can certainly repel it and keep

it at a distance and make it take a

288

:

lot longer if you can't align to it.

289

:

And if you are of two minds, if you

can believe one thing and say all the

290

:

affirmations you want, but if inside you

feel the opposite, then you're sending

291

:

out like a muddied signal to the universe.

292

:

And it's very challenging to get

the right kind of response to that.

293

:

audioColleenBiggs_col32726526204:

Yeah, I'm glad you said that because

294

:

in regards to money, since, being

financially free is a lot of what

295

:

you talk about here on your podcast.

296

:

I always have my clients go

through an exercise where I

297

:

say, write a letter to money.

298

:

If you were to write Dear Money, I.

299

:

What would you write to money?

300

:

What does that look like?

301

:

And I would love for all of your listeners

to do that and write it down and then

302

:

reread your relationship with money.

303

:

Is it a scarcity mindset?

304

:

Is it an abundance mindset?

305

:

Are you scared that the money you're

gonna get is gonna go away so fast?

306

:

So you hold on to all of it?

307

:

Are, do you.

308

:

Feel like money is free flowing.

309

:

So when you get the money, are you out

there saying how much you appreciate

310

:

that, what money brings for you, and

there's always an abundant amount of

311

:

money that comes to you, so you're

never worried and you just enjoy what

312

:

money brings you and how you can use

money to enrich the lives of others.

313

:

What does that letter look

like when you write the letter?

314

:

And that will tell you a lot

of what your money beliefs are.

315

:

And it takes a while to undo some of

that old hardcore conditioning like

316

:

you talked about, and programming

that we've had since we were younger.

317

:

But when you get there and you realize

how possible it is, unstoppable, totally.

318

:

audioChrisJolly42726526204:

Yeah and I love that exercise.

319

:

I'm going to sit down later and

write a letter to money myself

320

:

because just hearing you suggest

that, 30 things race through my mind.

321

:

I was like, wow that's gonna

be a powerful exercise.

322

:

So definitely thanks for that tip.

323

:

Now at the same time, no matter how

much you learn and how abundant you

324

:

feel and how far along in the path

you go there's always more steps.

325

:

So even the most financially

astute people still face different

326

:

kind of financial roadblocks.

327

:

So what is maybe like the biggest

financial roadblock in your

328

:

business right now, or one that

you've dealt with recently?

329

:

audioColleenBiggs_col32726526204:

So I did have a financial

330

:

roadblock that came up for me.

331

:

I originally was built my

community with a partner.

332

:

That partner and I had a falling out.

333

:

We couldn't agree on what we were going to

do with the business, the exit strategies.

334

:

So I stepped down as a managing member

and then just abruptly, one day I woke

335

:

up and it was all gone, bank account,

website, and I was just like, oh my gosh.

336

:

So I had two choices in that moment.

337

:

I could stop.

338

:

And crumble and walk

away and say, I'm done.

339

:

I can't.

340

:

I can't rebuild again.

341

:

Or I could stand up

and say, you know what?

342

:

I'm rebuilding this because there are

so many women out there that need this

343

:

support and I'm doing it for them.

344

:

And so financially that was a huge,

hurdle for me to get over because I

345

:

then needed to put all of my money

in no matter how I borrowed it.

346

:

What I, and here's the crazy thing, Chris,

I will share with you when that happened,

347

:

I started getting all these notices.

348

:

I did not apply for anything.

349

:

I started getting all these

notices in my inbox you're

350

:

pre-approved for a PayPal loan.

351

:

You're pre-approved for a QuickBooks loan.

352

:

You're pre-approved for this credit card.

353

:

You're, I'm like, I've

never seen those before.

354

:

Before you know it, all

this money just lined up.

355

:

That I needed to put in to rebuild what

I had lost, and I started rebuilding.

356

:

And I'm so glad I did because no

matter what we believe, as far as I.

357

:

Life is happening to us, in that moment.

358

:

There was a moment, I'm not gonna

lie, I was in a pity party moment

359

:

when life was happening to me.

360

:

But here's the difference.

361

:

I never sent out invitations to the party.

362

:

Don't send out invitations to the party.

363

:

Ever.

364

:

Stay in it for as long as you need to.

365

:

Do your thing, work your way through it.

366

:

Grieve what you needed to grieve.

367

:

And Chris, that was the

biggest thing for me.

368

:

I had put blood, sweat, tears, time,

energy, money into that business.

369

:

I had to grieve that out.

370

:

That was a lot of work, and I had

to let that go and I had to move on.

371

:

Create another community that worked

for me, and ever since I did that,

372

:

everything just started aligning.

373

:

The money came that I had to borrow

to build, and I did it, and I was

374

:

able to make money in the business.

375

:

I was able to align all of my branding

now under one umbrella that made it

376

:

easier for me to do business, easier for

people to recognize who I was, what I.

377

:

Stood for what I did.

378

:

There was no confusion anymore between,

Colleen does this over here, but she runs

379

:

this community over here, and it made it

better for my business, which gave me,

380

:

again, greater visibility, which again

gave me more consistency in my branding.

381

:

So that had to have happened for me

to be where I am today, but I didn't

382

:

see it coming, and it certainly

wasn't great when I was in the middle

383

:

of it, but again, We see miracles.

384

:

How we want to see miracles, and for me,

I've had some crazy stuff happen where.

385

:

My husband needed a new truck for his

business, and before you know it, I get

386

:

some pre-approval from the credit union

you're pre-approved to buy a new auto.

387

:

I'm like, why would I be

pre-approved to buy a new auto?

388

:

Like we own our own vehicles,

we don't, get loans for autos.

389

:

And then I was like what the heck?

390

:

He needs a new truck.

391

:

They contacted me and

said, oh, you're lucky.

392

:

We waived everything.

393

:

You don't have to show

your financials, nothing.

394

:

We're just giving you the money.

395

:

What, so all of this crazy stuff

happens for me right at the time in my

396

:

life because like you said, I believe,

and I work on that belief every day.

397

:

I read money books.

398

:

I do tapping, I read take

money master classes.

399

:

I surround myself with people that have

the same belief in money that I do.

400

:

You have to keep your mind strong

and your belief strong about

401

:

money when you are going through a

business I've seen my clients go

402

:

from, oh, I'm having the worst month.

403

:

You think I'm gonna quit doing this?

404

:

I suck, blah, blah, blah, to, oh

my gosh, I just got three clients.

405

:

I'm the best thing ever

and my life is great.

406

:

And how money can shift this.

407

:

This feeling and these attitudes, and

it has that much control over you.

408

:

Feel consistent about money, just feel

consistent about it and know if it leaves,

409

:

it's just gonna come back in droves again.

410

:

And that's just some of

the practices that I do.

411

:

audioChrisJolly42726526204:

That's a really powerful story.

412

:

I appreciate you sharing that with us.

413

:

So many people just are, they would

quit in that sort of situation, right?

414

:

Because it's too much,

it's too overwhelming.

415

:

They look at all the time they put

in and they're like, you know what

416

:

I guess I'm not meant to do it.

417

:

But you had that belief and that

vision, and it was because you

418

:

wanted to help other people.

419

:

And when we are doing work for other

people, especially, then it's real

420

:

easy for the money to show up because

it's not about us, it's about helping

421

:

others, which depending on how you look

at it, is what money is actually for.

422

:

audioColleenBiggs_col32726526204: Yeah,

and Grant Cardone does the same thing.

423

:

Yeah.

424

:

He gets to enjoy the luxuries

that money brings you.

425

:

So never feel selfish or guilty.

426

:

About that because with more

money we can do greater things.

427

:

But think of all the companies

out there that have purchased his

428

:

products and they are, their salesmen

are like top-notch salesmen now.

429

:

And those companies are making more

money and providing more jobs and

430

:

more opportunities, and families

are able to have better Christmases.

431

:

I could go on.

432

:

And on with the ripple effect.

433

:

So that's a tough one, and we

should probably address that real

434

:

quick if you want about money.

435

:

A lot of people will say, I want a

million dollars, or I want $500,000.

436

:

When I ask them why, they

immediately go to it's not selfishly

437

:

because I want it for myself.

438

:

It's why couldn't it be because

you want the money for yourself

439

:

when I have more money?

440

:

I become a better version of myself.

441

:

I can do more, I can

make a greater impact.

442

:

And I tell you what, I can donate and help

charities so much more today than I ever

443

:

could before, and I just think we miss.

444

:

That piece that it's okay to want a lot

of money, but most people are walking

445

:

around with a little Dixie cup like this,

Chris, and that's their belief on money.

446

:

And they're like, but why?

447

:

It's raining money, but

I can't catch any of it.

448

:

You gotta have a wheelbarrow, you

gotta have a belief that's I have a

449

:

trough and I am ready to catch all

this money that is coming to me.

450

:

But if our belief is this big,

We're not going to receive the

451

:

way that we should be receiving.

452

:

That's why.

453

:

If we were to take all the wealth and

distribute it amongst everyone, it

454

:

would be right back in the hands of the

top 3% within two years because anyone

455

:

who has filed bankrupt and has been a

millionaire or multi-billionaire and

456

:

started over has rebuilt it right back up.

457

:

'cause it's their mindset on their

belief in their ability to do it.

458

:

So that's why people that win lotteries.

459

:

Go back to being poor if they were poor

when they bought the lottery ticket,

460

:

they don't manage the money, right?

461

:

'cause their mindset's not

set that way with money.

462

:

So that is an important piece

to work on as a business owner,

463

:

is your relationship with money.

464

:

You'll never be financially

free without it ever.

465

:

Ever.

466

:

audioChrisJolly42726526204: Yeah

and that's such a great point.

467

:

And that's why you were able to

build back up from where you were

468

:

because when you've done it before,

you know you can do it again.

469

:

And although it may have sucked to wake

up and your partner's gone and all the

470

:

money's gone and everything you worked

for, it seems like it's been destroyed.

471

:

Like you said, it's sucked in the moment.

472

:

In the long run, those things are

almost always the most powerful and

473

:

transformative for us because it

causes us to look at the situation in

474

:

a different way, to look at ourselves

in a different way, and it really

475

:

just makes us become more resilient.

476

:

If you've never had to face any

battles in life, the moment you have

477

:

to, you're screwed because you don't

have the fortitude, you don't have the

478

:

strength, you don't have the experience

to call on, and you're just gonna fold.

479

:

It sucks in the moment,

but it makes us who we are.

480

:

audioColleenBiggs_col32726526204:

It is and people are like

481

:

I'm so afraid to do this.

482

:

What if I fail or.

483

:

What if I can't make

enough money for my family?

484

:

What if I can't pay my bills?

485

:

And I'm like, we can,

what if this to death?

486

:

So I even have my clients write

down, everything that could go right,

487

:

write everything that could go wrong.

488

:

And they do.

489

:

And then the simple question I ask

them is death anywhere on that list?

490

:

. I'm like, you can recover

from everything else.

491

:

And they're like, oh, I didn't

think about it that way.

492

:

So we have to be very careful

with our words and our thinking.

493

:

I remember my husband when I met him

16 years ago, he would say to me, we

494

:

can't afford that, or I can't afford

that, or That costs too much money.

495

:

And every time he would say it,

it sounded so weird to me, and I

496

:

would say maybe you can't afford it.

497

:

But I can afford it because

I can afford anything I want.

498

:

It doesn't have to be right now,

doesn't have to be tomorrow.

499

:

But if I want something, I can afford it.

500

:

Chris if your hot water heater broke

today and you walked out and all four

501

:

tires were flat and your car engine

stopped working, you would figure out

502

:

how to afford a new hot water heater, a

new engine, or a new car, or new tires.

503

:

But so many people say, I can't.

504

:

I don't have the money.

505

:

It's not the truth.

506

:

You can do it and you

will, and we always do.

507

:

audioChrisJolly42726526204: Yeah.

508

:

Yeah.

509

:

It's about being resourceful.

510

:

It's not about having the money yourself,

it's about having the resources to

511

:

figure out how to get the money.

512

:

Now I want to touch on

Colleen Financial Freedom.

513

:

I know you brought in the conversation

a little bit, but for you specifically

514

:

and like dollar amount aside because

you can have all the money in

515

:

the world and still not be free.

516

:

For you, what does financial freedom look

like if you are get to the point where

517

:

you don't have to show up inside your

business if you don't want to, you've

518

:

totally replaced everything you do.

519

:

You have all the money you

could ever ask for, and you can

520

:

spend your time as you like.

521

:

What are you gonna do with your days?

522

:

audioColleenBiggs_col32726526204: Yeah,

so my husband and I are actually working

523

:

toward, financially freedom right now.

524

:

I would say we are certainly

financially independent, so I wanna.

525

:

Touch on those two things because I

work with women to become financially

526

:

independent, meaning they don't need

to depend on another paycheck any other

527

:

money, whether it be alimony, child

support in a relationship marriage,

528

:

if a husband were to pass away, they

don't need to depend on other money and

529

:

they can financially be independent.

530

:

So being proud of themselves, being

proud of the businesses they build,

531

:

and being financially independent

different than financially free.

532

:

My husband and I we have

Amazon stores that run.

533

:

We have Shopify stores

that run passive income.

534

:

Those cost money, obviously

investments we have, properties

535

:

that we own that generate income.

536

:

We also have our businesses.

537

:

And when you have a business and

you do a lot of coaching like I do,

538

:

you've gotta show up in your business.

539

:

But when you run a membership,

that money, you can have other

540

:

people show up in the membership.

541

:

You can have other people show

up to run some of the events.

542

:

So how are you creating a portfolio?

543

:

I would ask for individuals on how

they're generating income in different

544

:

areas and not putting all your eggs

in one basket like your business.

545

:

Because what happens tomorrow if you

get hit and, or something happens

546

:

and you fall or you get a traumatic.

547

:

Injury or a diagnosis and

you're out for six months.

548

:

Is that all your income now just stops?

549

:

That should never be the case.

550

:

I am been financially independent

for probably 30 years already,

551

:

which feels really good.

552

:

So I know I can help women build that.

553

:

But the other piece of it

of being financially free.

554

:

It gives me the opportunity to know that

I can spend my money to help individuals

555

:

to make a greater impact, to donate.

556

:

I really believe that when

women have power, it's about

557

:

impact change, and who can I.

558

:

Spring along with me, and every

single time my mine and my

559

:

husband's income has increased.

560

:

We've utilized that to buy

another business with our kids,

561

:

and now we're assisting them

in becoming financially free.

562

:

So we reinvest our money back

into opportunities that help

563

:

those around us that we love.

564

:

I'm already doing what I love.

565

:

I feel financially set and sound

and, my mind is, my mindset is

566

:

financially set and sound on money.

567

:

So we travel we do everything.

568

:

Now I.

569

:

As if we were financially free because

you have to act that today to be that

570

:

in the future, if that makes sense.

571

:

It's the only way it gets delivered.

572

:

So I have, checks written on the wall

of how much money that we're gonna

573

:

be generating this year, and I love

it when my husband looks at me and

574

:

he is like, How are we gonna do that?

575

:

I'm like, I don't know yet.

576

:

But we're gonna figure it out and if

we just believe in it, it will happen.

577

:

And my vision boards are like

that, and it does happen.

578

:

We can make things happen hard

or we can leverage the universe,

579

:

we can leverage our faith.

580

:

We can leverage.

581

:

All of that belief and life becomes a

lot easier and you get to enjoy your

582

:

business and you get to enjoy spending

money and enjoy paying for bills.

583

:

I love paying those bills and when

we feel that way about finances, that

584

:

kind of creates this whole different

wave of a movement for us individually,

585

:

as becoming financially free.

586

:

audioChrisJolly42726526204: Love it.

587

:

And I also really appreciate

you taking the time to delineate

588

:

the difference between financial

independence and financial freedom.

589

:

Now, I know you said you're

working from one to the other.

590

:

What kind of is the gap

for you that you're.

591

:

Trying to bridge to get from the

independence to the Freedom Park.

592

:

audioColleenBiggs_col32726526204:

Not having to show up in my business

593

:

regularly because of the coaching.

594

:

It's what I love to do.

595

:

And so I show up in my business now.

596

:

I can show up in my business from

a sailboat, done that before I

597

:

can show up from Mexico, from

any state, like I've traveled all

598

:

over the place and have showed up.

599

:

So there really aren't any limitations

there, but that gap is really.

600

:

I have to show up.

601

:

So if I chose not to show up, would

the money still flow on a regular

602

:

basis into our accounts to be able

to create still keep that lifestyle?

603

:

And that's the gap right now

is we still have to show up to

604

:

produce most of that income.

605

:

Yeah.

606

:

audioChrisJolly42726526204: Like most

business owners at this point, and really

607

:

something that people overlook is when you

talk about financial freedom it really,

608

:

a big part of it is that time freedom

aspect because again, like I said, you

609

:

can have all of the money, but if you're

still chained to your business and you

610

:

have to be there or it doesn't operate,

you don't really have financial freedom.

611

:

You just have a really high paying job.

612

:

audioColleenBiggs_col32726526204:

That's right.

613

:

audioChrisJolly42726526204: Awesome.

614

:

Colleen this has been really

just an amazing conversation.

615

:

You've shared so many

gems for our listeners.

616

:

I know they're gonna get

so much value out of this.

617

:

I really, thanks again for coming on.

618

:

Now, for anybody who wants to find out

more about what you do or be in touch,

619

:

what's the best place for them to do that?

620

:

audioColleenBiggs_col32726526204:

So you can go to colleen bigs.net.

621

:

I don't know who has.com because

there is no other Colleen Bigs

622

:

out there that I can find.

623

:

I'll tell you, I worked really hard

on my ss e o and my visibility in the

624

:

past six years, so all you have to

do is look up Colleen Bigs and I'm

625

:

like the first six pages of Google.

626

:

You're not gonna find any other

Colleen Bigs out there, so I am.

627

:

Easy to find.

628

:

I am the girl that's kicking her

way through life on my profile.

629

:

Picture on Facebook, Instagram,

LinkedIn, on my website.

630

:

You can go find me anywhere.

631

:

audioChrisJolly42726526204: And you'll

be the one in class that won't be quiet.

632

:

audioColleenBiggs_col32726526204:

That's right.

633

:

I never shut up, but that's a

634

:

audioChrisJolly42726526204: Awesome.

635

:

Yeah.

636

:

Especially with what you do and getting

visibility for other business owners.

637

:

Colleen, thanks again.

638

:
