I talk about how you could use your newsletter like a goldmine, and how I moved my newsletter from Revue to Beehiiv.

Welcome to Tea Party media.
Martin:I am Martin Lindiscog and today I will talk
Martin:about how your newsletter could be a gold mine and what's going on in today's media world.
Martin:So today on January 18 Review will probably shut down close its doors due to decision by
Martin:the new owner Twitter.
Martin:So I have been now merging letters for issues
Martin:25 of them on Review.
Martin:I started how many years?
Martin:Seven years ago or even when I started back in midday got in contact with Martin Yi from
Martin:Holland and saw the start up there review and the new way of doing a newsletter.
Martin:You could say it like building blocks easy to use, you could integrate and take like an
Martin:image from your Instagram account for example a tweet, embedded tweet and so on.
Martin:It was very neat and nice to use.
Martin:Of course it's what I've been struggling with
Martin:to do publishing episodes of my first podcast eagle net Cost on a regular basis.
Martin:Same thing with the newsletter.
Martin:Newsletter should be in a way and use items
Martin:and when it's the thing how often you could be able to publish I will come back to what it
Martin:will circle around and coming back to what I like were thinking on paper and note cards and
Martin:index cards, especially ones that I use.
Martin:Model 90 27 write things down and according to
Martin:my perfect week, I have an interesting flow.
Martin:Where that's?
Martin:Ending the week with the newsletter on the Sunday, the day before.
Martin:Saturday is one thing like podcasting.
Martin:Friday is tweet twitter like follow Friday.
Martin:Thursday is Fallback thursday you can do that on Facebook.
Martin:Wednesday LinkedIn wrap up post middle of the week tuesday blog post.
Martin:Monday open Fred Instagram so how you could do it.
Martin:So I will talk more and more about this.
Martin:Your hub began blog your blog, your newsletter
Martin:and your podcast.
Martin:So it will be interesting to see if they will
Martin:keep revenue like a placeholder or if they really will shut it down.
Martin:Now I've been migrated and moved my small amount of subscribers and it was easy to do
Martin:that thanks to a tweet there.
Martin:But I saw by an employee at Beehive and that's
Martin:Beeh IV beehive like it sounds like a beehive with bees and a honey pot.
Martin:So I managed to do that subscribers and then also the content for 25th newsletters I also
Martin:got incorporated there and I'm thankful for that because otherwise they could be gone.
Martin:And I have learned that lesson regarding podcast that I have hosting companies that
Martin:I've had material on and then if you merge or move your podcast to another hosting provider
Martin:I haven't fought it through or maybe you stop paying the hosting or something else comes
Martin:around or maybe they close down.
Martin:But I'm using a service that was a free
Martin:hosting service called it was a start up in Stockholm, and now we are working with Search
Martin:All Ears.
Martin:It's called you could search keywords in
Martin:podcast in YouTube.
Martin:But made.
Martin:By now.
Martin:I don't remember the name, but it was a host
Martin:free hosting company that shut down.
Martin:And we'll probably see here during this year
Martin:mergers of podcast players out where things are going around and coming around and it's
Martin:interesting to follow here and again I'm using them now.
Martin:All it do is call recorder and they have also hosting including as a bit of him and I have
Martin:an idea of a podcast that I've talked about there in the future but this Tea Party Media
Martin:Podcast will be about my services, talks with individuals in the industry regarding new
Martin:podcast apps and Value for Value model and the Podcasting 20 Initiative and other things
Martin:related to Podcasting.
Martin:So I have conversation with Mitch of podverse
Martin:FM in the works in the pipeline recorded and also streamed live that I will upload and
Martin:publish in the near future but I wanted to get this thing about newsletter in up running and
Martin:then I will do another one on podcasting so it will be BNP blog newsletter, podcasting.
Martin:So what's the gold mine? If you have I have some examples with friends
Martin:and business contacts.
Martin:For example, Stefan of Detective Marketing and
Martin:Dovid that is a structural so they have I think they have great newsletters and they
Martin:have worked with it for a long time.
Martin:So that could be your gold mine with contacts,
Martin:with replies, with leads and what it could lead to.
Martin:But for me, it has been this thing how to use newsletter and set it up and it could be easy
Martin:way of doing it.
Martin:And I was a bit afraid that after review
Martin:shutting down will I be able to find a new one?
Martin:And now pound this in beehive and I will talk more about that in future.
Martin:We have interesting different plans and packages and premium features that you could
Martin:use.
Martin:And I have booked a meeting with one of our
Martin:representatives regarding the merging and also develop a newsletter.
Martin:So it would be interesting to talk to him.
Martin:And I must say that I enjoy the onboarding and
Martin:when I published my newsletter here issue number 26 the first year powered by Beehive.
Martin:I got email with Confetti and GIF congratulations with congratulations and said
Martin:don't you want to spread the good word on social media?
Martin:So I did that also I did a tweet, I did a Facebook post and shared on LinkedIn also.
Martin:So with that said I will now take a sip of T here and that could be a symbol of this as I
Martin:said the note card and T is a black T.
Martin:Blandwater took what I left off some black tea
Martin:blends but good for breakfast and other times.
Martin:Next episode will be about podcasting and then
Martin:I will publish the one with my conversation with Mitch Downey of Podvers FM.
Martin:So ending here.
Martin:Do you read newsletters?
Martin:How many do you subscribe to? Do you have plans to start your own
Martin:newsletter? Thinking about that.
Martin:The call to action is to download a new podcast app like Pod Verse or others like
Martin:Fountain FM.
Martin:So with that said, cheerio and talk to you
Martin:soon again.
