Taglines: The Dark Knight of Gotham City begins his war on crime with his first major enemy being Jack Napier, a criminal who becomes the clownishly homicidal Joker. 

This 1989 block-buster became an “event movie” powered by a furious build up campaign that created Batmania worldwide. Roger and Pascal look at the marketing campaign, what created Batmania and review the film which was a darker take on the Batman character than the camp colourful 1960s TV show and movie.
