Change Your State Of Mind - Change Your Life

In a recent episode of The Achieve Podcast, episode 56, with Success Coach Paul Webb, I was reminded of a quote from Albert Einstein.

“We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” Albert Einstein

I’ve got a couple of thoughts on this I’d like to share with you today.

Firstly, if you're in a current state of worry, anxiety, overthinking, overwhelm, then you have to change your thinking, you have to change your state, to step away and gain some perspective.

If you stay stuck in that kind of thinking, it’s going to be much more difficult to get out of that mindset.

So, if you're currently, or if you ever find yourself caught up in any level of stress, anxiety, overwhelm, or just overthinking, then I encourage you to do something that will help you get some clarity and perspective.

Think of your mindset like a channel, or frequency, a state of mind that you can change.

 So, if you're in a state that's not serving you, or it's not helpful, then change it.

You can do that in many different ways, one of the easiest and one of my personal favourites is to just take an action, just move, go out for a walk, go somewhere for a change of scenery, a change of perspective.

You could also do a guided meditation, or some mindfulness breathing exercises.  These are a great way of shifting that internal state that you're in, that just gives you some perspective and clarity to help you to think differently. Which allows you to take a different approach towards helping yourself move forward, or to resolve whatever was causing you some inner conflict.

Every now and again, if you find yourself in a state of overwhelm or negativity, just know that you can take some simple steps to help change that internal state of mind, just by moving, get an out of your own head by doing something like meditation, like breathing exercises.  

Just know that you have the ability to change your mindset.

As somebody who helps people to change their mindset, if you find yourself in a state where you want to make a change, but you're not able to do it, be aware that your current level of thinking, is unlikely to help you to make that change, to enable you to move forward in the direction that you want.

Sometimes you need to allow yourself to find a way to upgrade your mindset, to upgrade your current level of thinking, this is often referred to as adopting a growth mindset, rather than staying in the fixed mindset and state that you're currently in. Instead, you can upgrade your default thinking to help get out of your comfort zone. 

One of the ways of doing that is to update your mindset and it’s possible to do this in many different ways, you can educate yourself, to nurture your mind with new learnings, whether that be absorbing positive, motivating videos and books and podcasts, or seeking out a kind of a professional mindset coach, or therapist that will help you to make some changes to update your mind.

But really what I wanted you to do today is have their awareness that it is possible that you can change your level of thinking.

Whether that’s to help in the short term, with something that's currently happening, or if that be a more kind of permanent change that you want to make to enable you to move forward and help you to achieve the goals and the life that you want, either way it’s possible to change your thinking and your mindset!
