What does “recognizing patterns” mean?

Understanding “if this happens...I do that." In other words, how you respond to situations.

Neural pathways are created when you react the same way, time after time. These pathways can be re-written – but don't get erased.

“Pushing a person's buttons” can be positive as well as negative.

The danger of patterns – they become an easy path – and can lead to negative reactions.
