Shownotes

Author and artist Elisa Stancil Levine endured childhood abuse and unresolved issues that manifested into problematic behaviors as she grew into adulthood. Abuse from her grandparents negatively impacted and confused her entire early life.

As an escape, Elisa found solace in nature. She believes her only saving grace was her first memory of being conscious of nature. This environment helped her discover her passion for art, with nature as the focal point.

Elisa later would find success, selling houses she restored with some partners, one of which was her husband. When they divorced, Elisa was over-leveraged as a single mom of a 12-year-old son and the new man she fell in love with tragically died in a car accident.

In this week’s episode, Elisa shares why she chose to be vulnerable and write her personal memoir, how she began to heal after her past traumas, and how her son saved her life.
