Speaker A:

Hello there beautiful women.

Speaker A:

It's Kim Parkinson with Podcasting for Spiritual Women.

Speaker A:

And today I have an episode about being a speaker.

Speaker A:

And it was very interesting to me that over the course of the last month or so I've had a lot of different pieces kind of pop into place about being a speaker.

Speaker A:

Specifically in episode 033 of podcasting for Spiritual Women, I did a coaching call with Mary Ellen Lundy and that was a written originally supposed to be talking about her one sheet and how she can really hone that in and get that aligned with what she was speaking about.

Speaker A:

But it quickly I realized that it wasn't just about the one sheet.

Speaker A:

It was about her being a speaker, about her opportunities and what she was doing to bring her authority and her voice onto stages.

Speaker A:

Those stages don't have to be up there with a microphone in hand.

Speaker A:

They could also be stages such as podcast guests, summits, presentations, things like that as well.

Speaker A:

So knowing this, I then had Emma Bennett on to help us with our speaker one sheet and then quickly realized that it wasn't just about the speaker one sheet again.

Speaker A:

It was also about having a presence online for your speaking opportunities.

Speaker A:

So Emma is amazing and creates these websites where she not only gets all of the information that you need about what you're going to be talking about, who you're talking to, what your niche is, where your testimonials are, all that, but she also puts together a website where people can actually book you if you wanted to be a speaker.

Speaker A:

Now we did briefly talk last week about whether or not you needed an entire website or whether or not you just needed a page on your existing website.

Speaker A:

And the consensus here was that if you want to really focus on being a speaker, having a speaker website is very important.

Speaker A:

And if you want to just have podcast guesting and maybe a speaker opportunity here and there, maybe a page on your website right now would be a good idea.

Speaker A:

Now, Emma does offer a little Freebie, a little PDF.

Speaker A:

If you go to stagefrontstudios.com spiritual women, you'll be able to download her five things your speaker website can't do without.

Speaker A:

Now that does have five super valuable pieces in there of information.

Speaker A:

And let me mention one of the things that I find absolutely most valuable.

Speaker A:

It's not just about the one sheet, it's not just about having your graphics and your images on there for people to download, but it's also about having that email follow up nurture sequence about having those automations all set up in place.

Speaker A:

Now Emma does that all beautifully for you.

Speaker A:

With her offer.

Speaker A:

Now, again, the universe has a really funny way of making sure that this information isn't one directional, right?

Speaker A:

So, yes, I talked about one Sheets.

Speaker A:

It turned into speaker opportunities with Mary Ellen.

Speaker A:

And then I talked about one sheets, and it talked about speaker websites with Emma.

Speaker A:

And that same week, my sales coach came out with episode 045 of Selling youg Expertise.

Speaker A:

And she talked about how to turn those speaking gigs into paid clients.

Speaker A:

So here it's all in one, right?

Speaker A:

And that week, I also had a beautiful conversation with a woman named Sharon Doolin.

Speaker A:

I did do a podcast episode with her that'll be coming out very soon.

Speaker A:

In that episode, we talked about her as a voice coach.

Speaker A:

And she doesn't just help with the tonality in your voice and how to speak, but also how to hold yourself and how to really get your body language so people open up to it.

Speaker A:

So all of these pieces are just falling into place, right?

Speaker A:

It's like playing a game of Tetris.

Speaker A:

Over here.

Speaker A:

We have someone that is looking for a one sheet but really wants to be a speaker.

Speaker A:

We have someone that is available to teach you how to be a amazing speaker and also to hold yourself and hold your body language or show your body language so that you can be more attractant to those people.

Speaker A:

And then you have the sales coach who then also teaches you how to turn those people into paying clients.

Speaker A:

And we have all of that wrapped up in Emma's program where she has the speaker website and the one sheet where it all kind of starts and ends.

Speaker A:

It all starts and ends with Emma and the speaker website.

Speaker A:

So if you haven't gone and listened to how she does that, I highly suggest going Back to listen to 034 and listen to how Emma turns you into a funnel, how you.

Speaker A:

How she turns your speaking opportunity into a funnel and gets people into your website and into your booking via her program, via her offer.

Speaker A:

Now, I then realized that this was a lot.

Speaker A:

This was.

Speaker A:

This was a combination of information that was way bigger than I originally thought.

Speaker A:

After speaking to Emma, I realized that these weren't just about one sheets and podcast guesting.

Speaker A:

These had a bigger stage, a speaking stage.

Speaker A:

And having the ability to have all of these four people just kind of fall into my lap in a very short span of time was just an amazing way for the universe to really kind of say to me, you really needed to kind of speak more about being a speaker.

Speaker A:

Not just the one sheet, not just the speaker website, not just about turning them into clients, not just about how your presence in Online, it's all in one.

Speaker A:

It's all of these women that are offering, by the way, some type of a free offer for you to get your voices out there heard on podcasts as guests or out there as a speaker.

Speaker A:

Now, I do have a couple of pieces here that I also wanted to just kind of bring up.

Speaker A:

If you have the ability to create a specific sign up page for podcast guesting or speaker guesting that you're doing on your website, I highly recommend you do it because that is actually going to be able to give you numbers as to whether or not that was speaking to the audience and the audience actually went forth and did something.

Speaker A:

So if you have that ability to say I am on this particular podcast and similar to what Emma did where she created her back Spiritual Hyphen women link there, you can actually go ahead and see how many hits you're getting to that particular page.

Speaker A:

And that's going to give you a little bit of information.

Speaker A:

If you follow, keep a spreadsheet about this that might be able to give you information about what topic and what conversation you had and what was really resonating.

Speaker A:

And it could also give you some topic or information about whether or not that audience was a good audience fit for you.

Speaker A:

So a couple of different pieces there that could be another like little notch in that speaker keychain that we are kind of adding value to each week here.

Speaker A:

I just want to go over a few things that Emma's freebie offered and they were super important that I really felt like they really needed just a little bit of their own airtime here.

Speaker A:

And the first one is a clear value proposition.

Speaker A:

Why you need a single sentence that says who you help and how, and she gives you that information on how to write your own in her freebie in her offer.

Speaker A:

And I really feel like that is going to help you know, the topics that you're going to talk about, know who you're going to talk about, and.

Speaker A:

And it just really is going to give you that one piece.

Speaker A:

Now, Mary Ellen, if you go back to episode 33 that we had here, Mary Ellen has needed to have three different one sheets to kind of encompass the three different niches that she was talking to.

Speaker A:

Whether or not that was moms or whether or not that was empty nesters, or whether or not that was business owners in all three of those people.

Speaker A:

While you actually could be all three of those people, which I kind of am, I may be really honed in on one particular piece and not another.

Speaker A:

So that's super that that's something that you should be thinking about and reviewing.

Speaker A:

And so having that clear proposition, that clear value proposition is really important because that's really going to speak to the host or the event coordinator on what it is that you are going to be able to speak to them.

Speaker A:

And if you are speaking, if you have a one sheet or if you have a speaker website that is speaking to moms and then you're really going in for a speaking engagement where they're speaking to business owners, you may lose, you know, three quarters of your audience, half your audience, a third of your.

Speaker A:

You could lose part of your audience.

Speaker A:

So making sure that you have those nailed in for whichever speaking opportunities that you have is so important.

Speaker A:

In this case, Emma does go over some other pieces specifically regarding websites, and I think that these are super valuable as well.

Speaker A:

The number one that I picked out of the other pieces that she had was mobile friendly booking.

Speaker A:

How important is that?

Speaker A:

Top notch, like way up there, like make sure that people can book you on their phone.

Speaker A:

If they can't figure it out on their phone, it's going to probably make them say nevermind and they're going to walk on and move on to something else.

Speaker A:

And if you did get a chance to listen to Renee's episode 45 where she is talking about speaking engagements, she mentions that it is subjective, that not always is it something where a panel looks at each one of your applications and then chooses.

Speaker A:

Sometimes it is in the follow up and having that follow up means a clear link.

Speaker A:

And that clear link is to a clear website or a clear website page that's easy to read on your mobile device because you never know.

Speaker A:

That person could have gotten their email while waiting in line at Starbucks.

Speaker A:

And you were the one that really stood out for them, really had some character and was mobile friendly.

Speaker A:

And so that's how you got the booking engagement.

Speaker A:

You just never know.

Speaker A:

That's how you got the podcast episode again, you just never know.

Speaker A:

So making sure that it is mobile friendly is paramount and really super important.

Speaker A:

So I highly suggest that you do go download Emma's five things that your speaker website can't do without and think about it for not just speaking engagements, but also if you needed to turn it into a page for podcast guesting, so important.

Speaker A:

There are so many good tidbits in her PDF in her freebie that she's offered to us.

Speaker A:

If you do happen to go back and listen to Renee's episode, you'll see that she has a really great formula.

Speaker A:

She's got like a three step formula about pre event, during the event and post event and how she reaches out and engages with those people people.

Speaker A:

And again, once that is done in the post, in the pre and in the post, you're probably going to be looking at a website or a page that needs to again be mobile friendly, needs to have some kind of a call to action, needs to have something in it.

Speaker A:

So it's very interesting to me that all of these women came into my life in the last couple of weeks and realistically they all fit together like a Tetris puzzle.

Speaker A:

They're all just fitting together and they all just up.

Speaker A:

And if you can take any one of the, any of the knowledge from all of these and just kind of put them all together, you're going to find that you are going to do really well as a speaker.

Speaker A:

Making sure that you're getting out there, making sure that you have topics that you know what to talk about, making sure that you're visible with your website and then doing the follow up and doing the during the event.

Speaker A:

And if you happen to get a chance to listen to Sharon's episode in the future, which, and it's going to be a couple weeks I think, but if you happen to see Sharon's episode in the future, you'll know that it's also about body language and presence and super important to have that too.

Speaker A:

All of it lines up in your speaking journey.

Speaker A:

So hopefully you have your one sheet started.

Speaker A:

Hopefully you have a page on your website or a entire website devoted to your speaking journey and then you know how to have some information or have that pre event, that during event, that post event, having your presence out there online and just having the confidence to grow and share with the world the knowledge that you have in a more personal way.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

Not just on a podcast where they're, you're in their ears, which is amazing.

Speaker A:

And not just podcast guesting where again you're in their ears.

Speaker A:

Maybe it's doing a YouTube video as well, but it's also the ability to maybe get up on stage and speak there at a podium because you never know.

Speaker A:

Could be the next, it could be the next networking meeting that needs.

Speaker A:

It could be the next polka dot meeting.

Speaker A:

I'm a polka dot polka dot member.

Speaker A:

So it could be the next polka dot meeting that needs a speaker on exactly what it is that you know that you have authority on and that you can share and making sure that you have all those pieces lined up together to make it the most powerful event that you can.

Speaker A:

That's amazing.

Speaker A:

And that is what you really need to move that needle in your speaking business.

Speaker A:

So hopefully you have gotten a little bit of information here about all of the different pieces of speaking and I, I hope that you get out there and you get into some podcast guesting, you get into some summits, and you get into some on the stage speaking opportunities.

Speaker A:

Thank you so much for listening today.

Speaker A:

Speaker A:

Remember where your voice flows, your business grows, and I will talk to you again next week.
