Lee:

Hello.

Lee:

We thought we would pop back in because we're halfway through series one, new

Lee:

episodes are out every Thursday and we thought, well, we've got a whole

Lee:

other half of a series coming up, let's tell you what you've got in store.

Lee:

I know it's not our usual day to be dropping into your inbox.

Carrie-Ann:

And we did so many bonus episodes.

Carrie-Ann:

Part of the launch, we were missing the whole bonus episode vibe.

Carrie-Ann:

So we were like, right, we've gotta do another one.

Carrie-Ann:

We need to do a bonus.

Lee:

You haven't got my singing this time though.

Lee:

Thank goodness.

Lee:

So do you wanna kick us off Carrie-Ann and talk about a couple of the

Lee:

episodes that we've got coming up.

Carrie-Ann:

Hopefully you are avid listeners.

Carrie-Ann:

So you've been listening to our conversation so far this series, and

Carrie-Ann:

we're gonna build on a few of those.

Carrie-Ann:

We talked about leadership brand and narrative, so we're gonna move

Carrie-Ann:

into that sphere of storytelling.

Carrie-Ann:

We are going to explore a little bit more about why storytelling might be important

Carrie-Ann:

from the point of view of leadership what that really means and how you can do it.

Carrie-Ann:

So I'm quite excited about having that conversation.

Carrie-Ann:

And we are also going to be talking about the T word, which is trust.

Carrie-Ann:

We're gonna be, I dunno why I said it like that.

Carrie-Ann:

I was trying to really build it up into something.

Carrie-Ann:

I felt like maybe should have done a drum roll.

Carrie-Ann:

I don't know.

Carrie-Ann:

Anyhow, anyhow, so.

Lee:

I nearly said a word, then it would've just been highly inappropriate.

Carrie-Ann:

What another T word that was not trust.

Carrie-Ann:

The T word I am talking about is trust.

Carrie-Ann:

And we are gonna talk about what trust means in the context of leadership,

Carrie-Ann:

particularly around leading teams and groups how trust impacts

Carrie-Ann:

performance, or does it, we'll have that debate and conversation I'm sure.

Lee:

Fantastic.

Lee:

And we're also gonna be talking allyship.

Lee:

And I say it in that way, because every time I say the word ally, I've been

Lee:

saying ally quite inadvertently, I just obviously is a word I can't say properly,

Lee:

but I don't want to mess this one up.

Lee:

so allyship and how to be an ally because we talk about leaders needing

Lee:

to get involved in speaking up on issues that are important, but there

Lee:

are a lot of issues that leaders think, oh, I'm not really sure what to say.

Lee:

I don't know how to get involved.

Lee:

How do I do something more than just say I'm supportive.

Lee:

So we really want to go deep and explore that topic.

Lee:

And then also we wanted to have a bit of a broader discussion around as a

Lee:

leader, your priorities shift and change.

Lee:

You're responsible perhaps for broader stuff.

Lee:

The expectations of you in your role are much greater.

Lee:

talked about getting down in the weeds and how you pull yourself up in the past.

Lee:

In this episode, we really want to talk about what should you be

Lee:

making the time for as a leader?

Lee:

How do you divvy up your day?

Lee:

What should be your focus?

Lee:

What do you leave for others?

Lee:

We thought that be quite an interesting topic to explore.

Lee:

And we'd love your thoughts and ideas on either what you do spend your time on or

Lee:

where you wish you had more time to spend?

Carrie-Ann:

I'm excited for that one, cuz I think it's also gonna

Carrie-Ann:

be one of those episodes that's a good refresher for people who are

Carrie-Ann:

already in leadership positions.

Carrie-Ann:

They're feeling a bit overwhelmed and they don't have time for

Carrie-Ann:

everything they need to have time for.

Carrie-Ann:

I think that's gonna be a good reminder for us all about how we

Carrie-Ann:

should focus our time and energy.

Lee:

So we've got so much to say, and it feels quite sad that we are

Lee:

at that halfway point of the series.

Lee:

We, I mean, don't worry, we've got several series mapped out in our

Lee:

heads of other stuff we could cover.

Carrie-Ann:

Don't worry.

Carrie-Ann:

If one series as a podcast was not enough for you, we can keep on talking.

Lee:

But we would absolutely love for you to share any ideas or

Lee:

suggestions for topics you'd like for us to cover in future episodes.

Lee:

Maybe you don't like the idea of one of these topics and you

Lee:

want to give it the heave-ho, give us a better suggestion then,

Carrie-Ann:

I love it.

Carrie-Ann:

Throwing that challenge out there, Lee, like, come on then.

Lee:

As ever tag us on social media, DM us, or maybe drop

Lee:

us a good old fashioned email.

Carrie-Ann:

And if you have been listening to this series and you have enjoyed what

Carrie-Ann:

you've heard so far, or you found it interesting, it's given you a different

Carrie-Ann:

perspective on things, or as Lee said, there's more that you want to explore.

Carrie-Ann:

We would absolutely love it.

Carrie-Ann:

If you could rate us or leave a review.

Carrie-Ann:

So please do that on your listening platform of choice, that would

Carrie-Ann:

be hugely appreciated by us.

Lee:

If you want to follow us on the socials, if you want to go back and listen to

Lee:

all these episodes again, over the summer holidays, so you can drown

Lee:

out your kids whilst they're playing

Carrie-Ann:

Or your neighbor's kids.

Carrie-Ann:

If you don't have your own, that's been one of my issues today.

Lee:

So that's it really short and sweet.

Lee:

We just wanted to drop in to let you know what we've got planned for the rest of
