Scripture For Today:

Isaiah 56:7

“…these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

Responsibility for Answered Prayer pt 2

We have been discussing “Who’s responsible for our prayer’s being answered?”  Yesterday, I introduced the concept that it is really US that has the responsibility – not God (as most people believe).

We learned yesterday, that healing is really God’s gift to us in and through our redemption. Amen!  It is impossible for you to earn your healing just as it is impossible for you to earn your salvation.  It’s all be paid for already through Christ Jesus.

I remember one time I was preaching, I believe it was in Texas. I was preaching and I was talking on the subject of healing. So, naturally, at the end of the service I was praying for folks that came forward.

I remember this one lady brought her daughter, probably 10-12 years old up for prayer. She said the daughter had a severe ear infection and had lost her hearing. I’m not going to go into detail her, because of the time, but I want you to know that I led that mother into praying for her own daughter!

She brought her to the front for ME to pray… I explained to this mother that this child was HER responsibility and then I led the mother through a few scriptures and showed her that SHE had the authority here to take control. Amen!

Needless to say, the mother prayed and the daughter could hear her pray! Praise God!

You see, we want to try and push off the responsibility on someone else.  She probably had taken the daughter to be prayed for by others and these other ministers had prayed, “Oh Lord, IF IT BE THY WILL – heal this little girl.”

What was going on in those situations?

The mother was not taking responsibility – so she passed that along to these preachers..

The preachers were not taking responsibility – so they passed it along to God…

God, all along, was saying, “It’s not MY responsibility – I gave it to YOU!”  (speaking to the parents of children or to we, ourselves, if we are old enough to understand).

When I showed this mother that it was HER responsibility and that God had given HER authority in this situation (and I covered half a dozen scriptures that backed that up, amen) – she took authority and IMMEDIATELY seen results!

Immediately, the daughter said she could hear her mother!  Amen!  Glory to God!

This is what happens when WE take authority for answered prayer in our own lives and family. Glory to God!

We will take it up here again tomorrow!
