“Paul spent the whole of the two years in his own rented lodging. He welcomed all who came to visit him, proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching the truth about the Lord Jesus Christ with complete freedom and without hindrance from anyone.” So ends the life of St Paul today: the greatest missionary the world has ever seen. But so begins our missionary life. For tonight with greater noise than a thunderclap the Holy Spirit drops out of heaven onto us in a new way, a new outpouring. St Paul today hands the burning torch of the Gospel over to you. What do you choose to do with it? Are you ready, are you happy - I mean really - for the Holy Spirit to seize you and your life and make of you saintly missionary Christian in the world? I mean otherwise - what are you doing with your life? Do you want to burn? Then pray in a special way to the Holy Spirit today and every day - that he change your heart and transform your life. And he will.
