Following the description two weeks ago of the Family Church Values, Ps Paula this week speaks specifically about "We Value People". Every person is loved by God and we want to make sure that as a church and as people who are Kingdom-minded and who love the Lord, we want to make sure that we reflect His heart. So if we want to be Christ-like, we need to know what Christ is like!

John 3:16-17 (NIV) describes the character of God perfectly..."For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him".

Ps Paula then spends most of her message speaking about the subject of compassion, how we all need compassion at times in our lives and how this aspect of God's character so illustrates the value of loving people. In the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37), it is the seemingly despised Samaritan, not the religious priest, who has compassion, but this compassion costs him, as it does us and indeed it cost Jesus' life.

Real compassion is not just a thought but an action too!

Lamentations 3:22 (ESV) says "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end..."

Do we exhibit compassion or religion....listen to this challenging podcast!
