For any of you that have been listening to business podcasting Made Easy over the last two, three seasons, you know, we always love to start with a quote, and this is no different, this episode. Today, we're going to talk about a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt. She said, no one can make you feel inferior without your consent. What a powerful quote. And we welcome you to the show.
Declan Oceguera

Love it. Love it.
Donna Kunde

Yeah. When I first heard this concept, we were talking about this before we went on air, Declan, about how yeah, that I control my world and give permission to people. And I had a mentor one time that says, if you allow anyone to make you sad, mad, or glad, you've been had.
Declan Oceguera
::Play
That's so true, though, right? If you believe that you're the creator of your reality, then there's nothing someone can say to you that makes you feel bad or inferior or less, unless you say so. I know for me, that was the first time I started to learn about this stuff some time ago, that I didn't like that.
Donna Kunde
::Play
No, it's ownership and responsibility. And so how does this tie into TV talk Show Formula? Why is this important?
Declan Oceguera
::Play
Well, it's so important because a lot of what I've experienced, the reasons, excuses, considerations that people have, really smart people, otherwise confident people, when it comes to being on camera and being seen this way, they have a lot of reasons. Some of them are their internal, personal image reasons or external things that they've made up what we think other people are going to think about us. And maybe there's also things that people have said about your looks, your age, your capabilities. And so those things kind of fester in the mind. And it's easy to say, I can't do this because XYZ reason, right? So if that's where you're living with it, then and you're not allowing yourself to be seen because of those thought gremlins that the people who you're here to serve and to make an impact on for are not getting served.
Donna Kunde
::Play
Yeah. And so we invite you to become a person worth watching by overcoming this thing called impostor syndrome because your expertise needs to shine and the best way to do it is to show up on camera confidently every time.
Declan Oceguera
::Play
Yeah. Well, when you say the words impostor syndrome, what does that mean for you? I've heard different definitions of this. I'm curious, what does that mean for me personally?
Donna Kunde
::Play
I go back to Napoleon Hills thinking grow rich. And it's that fear of criticism. Who do you think you are, that little voice in your head? Who do you think you are to show up as a TV talk show formula? Who do you think you are to show up as a pot? Who do you think you are to show up as a radio station owner? Oh, my goodness. Who do you think you are?
Declan Oceguera
::Play
Yeah, well, you know, what's interesting is and I know we've talked about in previous episodes before we went live to record these and to be on air and even in my own videos, whether I'm live or on the street, just recording something for future use. I have that thought sometimes, like, no one's going to watch or what am I who am I to be saying these things in the world with all the work we've done?
Donna Kunde
::Play
Right?
Declan Oceguera
::Play
Mindset work. It can pop up. And this is why it's so important to do the mindset work and to have the tools that allow you to check those. I call them mindset monsters pop up because sometimes they just sneak up when you're at least expecting it.
Donna Kunde
::Play
They do. I was once told by another mentor I've had a lot of mentors. I love mentored. But another one had told me that there are people in this world that are only waiting to hear your voice because the same messages are said over and over again, but a different timbre of voice, a different vibration of voice, and just a slightly different way to say it is only going to resonate with certain people. And your next customer, your next client, your next person out there is waiting to hear your voice.
Declan Oceguera
::Play
Yeah, it is so true. And I'll tell you this super quick thing that just happened to me. So I'm here in Portugal learning Portuguese, and I've made some friends, some business owner friends here, and one of them owns a restaurant. And on Sunday, she sent me a message on Instagram saying in Portuguese, come over to the restaurant. It's Joanna's birthday. Joanna is a young lady who works there. It's like, oh, my gosh, I was so nervous to go there because I knew that Portuguese family, they're having a birthday party and like, here's American guy who doesn't, you know, who can, who's getting by, but you know what I'm saying? So there was like an impostor syndrome there with me in showing up to this place. And part of why I also wanted to show up, though, is I'm teaching a workshop here, a live in person workshop, and I wanted to talk to the birthday girl because she wants to come to my workshop. So it was like networking as well, right? Long story short, they start talking about that I'm having a workshop, and they said, Tell us all about it. So they basically said, here's the stage. Tell us what you do. And I had to immediately check those mindset. Monsters. Because who am I to talk about this in English to these Portuguese people?

At a birthday party.

When it was over, my little Ted Talk, they clapped for me. It was, like, remarkable. One of the other young ladies there said, you have such a nice voice. You should do a podcast. I said, Funny you should say that, but whether we're on air or on camera or in person, we are someone worth listening to, and we have to be able to instantly check those mindset. Monsters. Get over the impostor syndrome, because there are people there who want what you have. And if you don't give it because you're scared or worried of the fear or whatever the considerations are, then you're missing out. They're missing out. And if you're a mission driven person, like people listening here, then we're not living our mission. We're not living our purpose. We're not fulfilling the vision that we have for why we do what we do.

::Play
Yes. Literally.
Donna Kunde
::Play
You just don't. And checking those little voices, like you said, Declan, is so important because when you show up on camera, confidently, making a TV talk show becomes easier, because now you're just allowing your magnetic personality to automatically attract more of your ideal clients, leads, and partners. Like you did at a birthday party in Portugal, no less.
Declan Oceguera
::Play
Exactly. Yes. And so what do people need to do?
Donna Kunde
::Play
Yeah. You're talking about sitting behind the camera, so of course we're going to play on all those camera words. And the first way to do that is adjust your focus. This is not about you take the camera and take the lens, take the focus off of that little inner voice and take you out of the spotlight, because it's really about the people that you want to help and the community that you want to build.
Declan Oceguera
::Play
Yeah. So we are inviting you to take an action kind of a big action. This is a big action.
Donna Kunde
::Play
Get out of your comfort zone. Yeah.
Declan Oceguera
::Play
We're gently kicking you in the behind to get out of your comfort zone. And one of the things you want to do to find out who's going to even watch your TV talk show is to do a little market research. And so an easy way to do this is to make a short video where you let people know that you are about to launch your first or your new TV talk show and you want to know what they want to hear about from you.
Donna Kunde
::Play
What would that sound like?
Declan Oceguera
::Play
So it could be super simple. I recommend you just go live, because then you're done and you don't have to go back and think about editing or anything like that. So just Facebook live. Instagram live. You're going to pop on there and say, hey, people, or however you say hello to your friends. Declan here, and I'm excited to announce that I'm preparing to launch my first TV talk show, and I'd love to know what topics you want to hear about on the show. And so please post a comment below and share what areas you want to know more about. And stay tuned for more announcements about where you can watch my new show.
Donna Kunde
::Play
See you later. Sounds easy peasy.
Declan Oceguera
::Play
Basically two, three sentences, max. Yes. And then you just see what happens, right? See what people say. And it's not about how many people respond, because people often watch, but they don't necessarily interact. But you're putting yourself out there.
Donna Kunde
::Play
Yeah. You're telling the universe, you're telling the world, and you're telling the people in your current network that you are showing up for them, not just for yourself, but that you have something to say and that they should listen, because it could be a life changer for them.
Declan Oceguera
::Play
Yes.
Donna Kunde

You know what? We got to end this episode.
