How should Christians share the Gospel in a world that may not understand—or even agree with—the Christian faith?

In this episode of Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast, host T. S. Wright welcomes back Rev. Stu Woods for a message from Colossians 4:2–18 about living as faithful witnesses for Jesus Christ.

Rev. Stu begins with Paul’s instruction to “devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Prayer is not meant to be an occasional religious exercise. It is regular communication with our Heavenly Father—bringing Him our concerns, hopes, needs, struggles, and thanksgiving.

The message then turns to Paul’s remarkable perspective while imprisoned. Instead of focusing primarily on his difficult circumstances, Paul asked believers to pray that God would open a door for the Gospel and enable him to proclaim Christ clearly.

That same calling remains before believers today.

Rev. Stu challenges Christians to examine how they speak and behave toward those outside the faith. Our words and actions can either help someone move toward Christ or become an unnecessary obstacle.

Drawing from Colossians 4:5–6, he emphasizes:

  • Be devoted to prayer.
  • Remain watchful and thankful.
  • Pray for God to open doors for the Gospel.
  • Make the most of every opportunity.
  • Treat those outside the faith with wisdom, kindness, and respect.
  • Let your conversations be full of grace and “seasoned with salt.”
  • Listen before answering.
  • Grow in your knowledge of Scripture.
  • Share your personal testimony and connect it to God’s Word.
  • Remember that believers plant and water seeds, but God gives the growth.

One memorable challenge from the episode is the idea that there are “five Gospels”—Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and you—because for many unbelievers, the life of a Christian may be the first testimony about Jesus they closely examine.

Rev. Stu calls this approach “gospel kindness”: speaking truth without abandoning grace, treating people with dignity, and allowing the character of Christ to be visible through our lives.

The episode concludes with the reminder that Christians are called to faithfully sow and water the seed of God’s Word while trusting the Holy Spirit with the results.
