Shownotes

How much self-hate do you carry inside of your chest?

People watching is wonderful..

Sometimes I go into town for groceries and set an intention.

Those last couple weeks I focused on trying to feel and see the amount of self compassion people are carrying inside of themselves.

Clearly, the people who were most kind to others also seemed to feel very happy with themselves.

On the other side people who clearly don’t feel so well are not really good to be around. Body language doesn’t lie ..

And then we have the people who don’t really look well and happy but put on a happy face to not feel seen by others..

How much do you care about your well being ?

And I don’t mean your physical wellbeing (for a change :)

Your thoughts

The way you feel when you are by yourself NOT distracting yourself

Let’s dive into this cause I’m also still a bloody student to this topic..

With much love

Unknown:

Hello, hello, and welcome to the Borealis

Unknown:

experience. I'm your host Aurora, and I'm very happy to be

Unknown:

spending some time with you today.

Unknown:

It is Sunday afternoon. It's very windy out there.

Unknown:

And today I choose to talk about uncomfortable feelings.

Unknown:

anxiety, sadness, powerlessness, anger, frustration.

Unknown:

Desperation.

Unknown:

Those feelings usually come up when

Unknown:

we are by ourselves. They start out with little thoughts, maybe

Unknown:

something that has happened and the outside, that triggers a

Unknown:

thought.

Unknown:

And then it goes on and on, and you start feeling worse and

Unknown:

worse, and maybe even anxious, nervous. Maybe your body even

Unknown:

starts feeling uncomfortable.

Unknown:

And then the distraction starts, we have Netflix, at the tips of

Unknown:

our fingers. We have junk food, we have ice cream in the

Unknown:

freezer,

Unknown:

we have porn.

Unknown:

We have all kinds of stuff.

Unknown:

To help us avoid these feelings. Not to forget about cigarettes,

Unknown:

and alcohol.

Unknown:

They numb the pain, they

Unknown:

make us think of something else, they make the body feel warm and

Unknown:

fuzzy.

Unknown:

And make you basically, yeah, override these feelings. But

Unknown:

they're still there

Unknown:

are going to come back next time around when you're alone.

Unknown:

I'm still struggling.

Unknown:

And being at peace, like mental peace. When I spend extended

Unknown:

periods of times by myself, and I'm learning day by day,

Unknown:

situation by situation, that this is exactly what I need to

Unknown:

learn. I need to learn to be comfortable. Spending time with

Unknown:

myself. I'm good at spending time with myself. But I usually

Unknown:

heavily distract myself, you know, social media and Netflix.

Unknown:

Everything is right there.

Unknown:

It is okay to sometimes just stop

Unknown:

and to see what is there. You know, it's like a house that you

Unknown:

haven't been in the long time.

Unknown:

And it's dusty and there's things broken.

Unknown:

And all of the time you were avoiding to go into that house.

Unknown:

Or you were trying to mask

Unknown:

the stuff that disturbing things that you didn't want to see.

Unknown:

But today, I just want to invite you to be there with me

Unknown:

with these feelings

Unknown:

to sit there, preferably not driving or operating any

Unknown:

machinery

Unknown:

and to just

Unknown:

allow yourself to be still.

Unknown:

And when things start coming up when your monkey mind starts

Unknown:

doing its business.

Unknown:

Just don't engage.

Unknown:

let it float by like a cloud on a windy Sunday afternoon.

Unknown:

And even if you feel uncomfortable, no know that it

Unknown:

is certainly your thoughts who trigger those uncomfortable

Unknown:

feelings in your chest

Unknown:

and your body.

Unknown:

Take a deep breath through your nose and then exhale

Unknown:

and then inhale

Unknown:

and then exhale.

Unknown:

know that right now you don't have to think about any to do

Unknown:

lists.

Unknown:

You don't have to react to anything you have to not

Unknown:

impulsively try to go do something in order to escape.

Unknown:

And just notice what is coming up? Is it sadness? Is it anger,

Unknown:

that frustration is it loneliness

Unknown:

and give it some attention.

Unknown:

You know, like, all too often we're there for other people

Unknown:

when they feel shitty, we're there for a child when it cries,

Unknown:

we comfort.

Unknown:

But when it comes to our deep stuff, which is to distract

Unknown:

ourselves, which is to not want to feel these feelings.

Unknown:

And if we can start to be a little bit more compassionate

Unknown:

with who we are,

Unknown:

the knife can become so much easier.

Unknown:

We don't take things as personally as we used to, and we

Unknown:

feel self compassion.

Unknown:

When we feel self worth.

Unknown:

We don't meet make other people's actions about

Unknown:

ourselves.

Unknown:

We know it's dumb and tells everything about them. And it

Unknown:

has nothing to do with ourselves.

Unknown:

When we choose to sit and stillness and do nothing, but be

Unknown:

everything

Unknown:

and maybe go up into birds perspective and look down on

Unknown:

yourself

Unknown:

and know that you're endlessly precious and unique.

Unknown:

Just by sitting there, where you're at right now.

Unknown:

Nothing needs to be fixed.

Unknown:

Nothing says that you're not enough. Nothing says that you're

Unknown:

not meeting expectations.

Unknown:

You are whole You are wonderful.

Unknown:

You are an exquisite mix of energy and love, lifeforce

Unknown:

can pay compassion for others,

Unknown:

first and foremost for yourself.

Unknown:

Be gentle with yourself of facts sakes, we need to learn this.

Unknown:

And I'm not going to apologize for swearing here because it's

Unknown:

my podcast and I can do whatever I want.

Unknown:

You are so precious.

Unknown:

And sometimes you just have to remind yourself of that. You

Unknown:

have to stop

Unknown:

and realize that your thoughts are so self destructive, so

Unknown:

poisonous, so against yourself.

Unknown:

And when you give it a little bit of tension,

Unknown:

you can resolve it. You know, as soon as you shine light onto

Unknown:

something, it changes. As soon as you start observing

Unknown:

something, it changes. Just think about yourself being on

Unknown:

camera, you're not yourself like you're on the spot and

Unknown:

you feel uncomfortable maybe or super comfortable but it does

Unknown:

something to you. And the same thing happens with your thoughts

Unknown:

and your feelings that you have in your chest.

Unknown:

In your head in your back.

Unknown:

A lot of things a lot of tension accumulates in our back and then

Unknown:

our neck.

Unknown:

And I'm never surprised when somebody comes to me and needs

Unknown:

help.

Unknown:

From my personal trainer

Unknown:

side

Unknown:

that they carry around mental stuff, emotional stuff that is

Unknown:

not helping them that is holding them back and it just settles in

Unknown:

the muscles

Unknown:

I tried to release all that stuff, try to be good with

Unknown:

yourself right now right here.

Unknown:

Take a deep breath through your nose and then exhale through the

Unknown:

mouth. And know that your breath is such a unique tool

Unknown:

to help you go through health, emotional health at times.

Unknown:

It keeps you connected to yourself and centered and very

Unknown:

clear in your mind.

Unknown:

As soon as we breathe in a shallow manner, we tense up, our

Unknown:

body is receiving signals, hormones, that there is danger,

Unknown:

and we tense up.

Unknown:

So focus on your breath on a daily basis. Be mindful with

Unknown:

your thoughts. Because your subconscious is always

Unknown:

listening. Your body is always listening to your thoughts and

Unknown:

trust me, they don't know a sense of humor. They take the

Unknown:

thoughts at face value.

Unknown:

And they believe those thoughts, your body hurts your heart, your

Unknown:

spleen, your pancreas, your lungs, your liver, and all the

Unknown:

organs I'm forgetting here.

Unknown:

They are being affected by self destructive thoughts.

Unknown:

And how can we shift our thoughts to a more positive

Unknown:

place? Well, my friend, we need to forgive ourselves and we need

Unknown:

to have empathy and compassion and patience with ourselves.

Unknown:

Then we can be at peace, then we can see that we're worthy. We

Unknown:

are enough. We don't need to be fixed. We're healing at our

Unknown:

divine time.

Unknown:

Be gentle with yourself. And think of me the next time you

Unknown:

observe your thoughts.

Unknown:

And remember,

Unknown:

you are endlessly precious.

Unknown:

Thank you so much for listening to this episode. I hope I bring

Unknown:

you peace and resolution

Unknown:

and first and foremost value. I have so much respect for you. I

Unknown:

have so much gratitude for you. Thank you so much for being on

Unknown:

this journey with me. If you haven't already, subscribe. And

Unknown:

if you want to leave me a little tip in the tip jar.

Unknown:

Leave me a review on Apple podcast. It would mean the world

Unknown:

to me and would help other people to find me.

Unknown:

Thank you so much. I will be out there very soon.
