This is part 4, and you will never hear me say, why would you do that? Why would you do that?

I won't ever say that to you. It is judgy.

It assumes you shouldn't have done whatever it was that you did.

It sounds a bit like what is wrong with you?

Why would you do that implies that you did it on purpose.

Why would you do that implies there may have been no good reason as to why you did whatever it was you did.

Why would you do that is negative and oh so unhelpful.

We're always trying to figure out what other people are thinking and feeling, and using thoughtful questions that elicit insights

and learnings is one way of doing so.

I must remember not to ask my kids why would they do that. This summer holiday is long.
