Summary:
I unpack Jack Smith’s sworn testimony, what it proves, and what accountability should look like next.
The debate over whether Trump attempted a coup is over. Using highlights from Jack Smith’s testimony and released transcripts, I break down how the scheme worked — pressure campaigns, fake electors, and an effort to block the lawful transfer of power — and why 2020 wasn’t chaos; it was a coordinated plan.

Overturned the results of the 2020 election and the fact that he was directly responsible for staging that attempted coup. Bottom line of all of that testimony is that there should be no question that Donald Trump is an absolute traitor in should be in prison.
, they are going to move the [:don't believe me. Remember how he and his supporters were all about protecting the kids, and when it came to the Epstein files being released and now that those files are coming out, what do you hear from these people? Here's a good example of the excuse making that is typical within MAGA circles.
Iguessimspecial2: No wanna tell me that they can't consent. Oh, their, their frontal lobe doesn't work. What are you talking about? They're not old enough to consent. What are you talking? They're just not old enough. They can't make good sound decisions 'cause they're just children. And they can't make a sound decision about doing what they're already doing. Y'all are adorable. Stop being in denial about your kids. Stop. Your kids are doing it too. Yep. Yours too. Sorry. Sorry. Just like you did. They're following in their mommy's footsteps.
old girls that you guys were [:Underneath the bleachers at somebody else's house, skipping school in a car. All of those items that you were doing, they're doing the same thing. Don't try to make them victims now, unless somebody pulled up in a white van with no windows and threw 'em in the van with a fucking pillowcase over their head, they weren't victims.
Okay? They went knowing what they were. What they were doing.
Dr. Jim : What you just heard is a Trump supporter who went from supporting the kids to now making excuses for why it's okay for 13 to 15 year olds to be trafficked. As long as they got paid for it. That is the MAGA line right now. Now, this isn't a story about the Epstein files. We can certainly get into that on a different conversation.
this is a conversation [:So what did we learn from. Jack Smith's testimony. Jack Smith under Oath said that he and his team developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Smith also testified that Trump. Engineered forces to block the lawful transfer of power. Smith also detailed how Trump was primarily responsible for engineering. The outrage that led up to the January 6th [00:04:00] insurrection and Trump was. Actively involved in trying to get Congress to delay his certification and steal the election.
So keep that in mind when we're thinking about who is responsible for actually election interference and trying to steal elections.
The Trump regime, MAGA and Republicans love pointing the finger at everybody else when the evidence is clear and now is under oath that it was Trump and his cronies and his Republican allies who were actively involved in staging a coup. That's not my words. That's Jack Smith under oath. Knowing the full risk, knowing full well that he is likely to be prosecuted by this DOJ in or in an effort to silence him.
iminal scheme to overturn the:Both houses of Congress.
In addition to that, Smith testified that Trump was trying to coerce Mike Pence to just hand him the election. Since the vice president is the one in charge of certifying elections. Part of that pressure campaign involved pushing Pence to reject lawful elector certificates During the count, Pence refused. And what happened as a result of that refusal
r Mike Pence looking to hang [:If you have any questions about who are the domestic terrorists in the US and who is the enemy within? Every single MAGA member who was part of J six, every single Congress person who was coordinating with Trump, every single senator who was coordinating with Trump to overthrow that election is the enemy within, and the evidence proves that out.
Smith also testified about how. The effort to overturn the election wasn't just relegated to the capitol, it was spread out across all of the swing states. Smith described a coordinated effort to mimic electoral count act procedures by installing fake electors across those seven states,
and that included efforts by these fake electors to meet in Michigan and develop a plot to access the Michigan capital and interfere with the electoral counts.
be used only if courts ruled [:And Smith goes on to testify under oath that Trump continued to push for the replacement of these lawful electors. Even after several GOP leaders had told them there was no evidence of fraud. There's email traffic that actually backs that up as well.
w that he lost the election, [:And this is evidenced by how Sidney Powell was leveraged by the Trump regime as a way to push lawsuits that had no merit.
when you look at what Trump did, he knew he lost, he pressured people anyways. And his operating philosophy that Smith testified to was that he wanted to have his allies and as many allies as possible in the states that he lost.
Just say that the election was stolen and he and his regime would do the rest to discredit the outcome of that election. That was the plan.
We all know how that turned out. It didn't work and it didn't work because Republicans of that era. Understood their responsibility under the Constitution and stood firm and supported the rule of law.
But even after all of the outcome was decided, what did you see for the next four years?
lection narrative and create [:And if it wasn't for legal maneuvering and delays by Trump, allied judges and legislators, Trump would be in jail.
What this should communicate to everybody is that any remaining questions about whether Trump is loyal to the US or is a traitor should be put to rest. It is clear based on testimony under oath. Based on the entire 245 page transcript that Donald Trump did anything and everything that he could to overturn the will of the people and then continued to push that narrative for the next four years long enough for him to regain power.
know that what should happen [:These people have no business being in seats of power. They're wholly owned by Trump and any number of other foreign countries, and they're a acting on the behalf of those interests, and they're definitely not acting on the behalf of the American people.
ok back at the Trump era from:When you look [00:11:00] at all the people that need to be held to account for this. You certainly have the people in and around the Trump orbit that should be held accountable at the earliest possible opportunity. But in addition to that, you have a huge slew of Republican congressmen and senators that should be wrapped up in this as well.
ure that their resources are [:There needs to be a brutal. Cold calculating systematic response to this, and it needs to be severe. What Donald Trump did in trying to stage a coup was one of the most severe. Breaches of trust and severe acts of treason in American history, it should be met by an equally severe response, and there should be no prisoners taken if we fail to do that. If the American people and elected officials fail to hold all of these people accountable to the extent that they deserve, we are asking for whatever comes next. And whatever comes next is gonna be way worse than what we just encountered.
