Debbie Haski-Leventhal grew up inside a religious cult. She escaped at 18 years old, after experiencing a life of abuse, poverty and servitude, and wondered if she’d ever experience a life of purpose and meaning.
Debbie went on to become a Professor at Macquarie University, and a scholar of corporate social responsibility, responsible management education and volunteerism. Her latest book, Make it Meaningful, in which she shares her own, an other’s, stories exploring ideas of purpose, impact, values, and resilience.
And today we have a jam packed conversation about everything from her time in the religious cult, and how it ultimately led her to the meaningful and impactful work she does today. And.. what you can do to find more meaning in your life and work, without giving up your life or work.
You can check out Debbie’s latest book, Make it Meaningful: How to find purpose in life and work.
