Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
Peter. 1 Peter 5:6–7. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is a BONUS Day of 30 Days of Pushing Back Fear. When my sons and I play the wildly popular building game, Minecraft, we often create a kind of trash can, for items we collect along the way, but don’t want. Hey, it’s not so different in life: we collect A LOT of stuff we don’t want. And there’s a worlds-better means of disposal than a digital trash can. God offers HIMSELF as the means—the person—who will carry our load, all the baggage we’ve been collecting; the weight we’ve been sinking under. As the final piece in this set of reflections on fear, I offer you Jesus—the ONE who is committed to being the final resting place for ALL that troubles you; all that spins up your anxieties; makes your heart races; your sleep flee. Don’t hold those things any longer—throw them into the care of Jesus. And rest, my friend.
