Now, this week, we're looking at helping you to do real market research for your idea, whether it's a book, a business ministry, whatever.

Okay, matter of fact, let me go ahead and share the screen.

It you need to get actual facts.

However, everything is at that you're looking at.

I mean, especially before you start pouring money into this effort.

A very simple way to get started is by offering the public something of value for their response to your request for information.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

All right?

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

That means you'll have to create some kind of cheat sheet.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Now, this training is not about giveaways and cheat sheets and all that, so I won't go in any deeper than that.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

I mean, you probably already know what that is anyway, or you wouldn't even be here to begin with.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Amen.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

But it could be a checklist.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

You know, something they can take, something they can put to work by following your cheat sheet, and then they'll have what they're looking for.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

It provides them something of value is what I'm telling you.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Make sure your cheat sheet, your checklist, whatever it is, is providing the value you say it does.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Just don't promise them the world and give them a book that they gotta read.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Make sure that whatever it is you're providing gives them quick victories.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

It has to be easy, simple, and quick all at the same time.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

All right, now next, you're gonna have to run what we call an ask page.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

And by the way, I have to give credit for credits due on this.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

My good friend Sean M.

Taught me this, and I think he invented the concept anyway.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

He does it so well, praise God.

Anyway, at the top of the page, what you want to do, either offer a cheat sheet or you offer to solve some somebody's problem for them.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

And you just do it for free.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

You're not charging them a nickel for it.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Okay, do it for free.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Now, don't misunderstand what I just said.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

You will solve their problem for them for free.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

It's simple, right?

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Or you give them a cheat sheet.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

And if they follow the cheat sheet, you know, when I send out the one for creating a podcast, if they follow it in order step by step, from step one to the bottom, by the time they hit the bottom, they have their own podcast up running listed on itunes and have subscribers coming in.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Okay.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

So you give, can't create it all form in one sitting.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Give them the checklist, let them go through it.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

But you have to be able to deliver on the promise if they go all the way through it.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Now what you're going to do on that page, you're going to ask them on this ask page, you're going to ask them for their name and email address so you can put them on your email list so you can communicate with them a few times, back and forth.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

That's what it's all about.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

And then you're going to ask them.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Once they've done that, the very next thing is you're going to ask them three questions.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Sean Mize has a training on this, on asking these three questions.

It is really excellent.

I know a few other marketers, they have the trainings on this as well.

Okay.

Anyway, I'm going to give you kind of a condensed, boiled down version of these three questions.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

You'll ask these three questions on your ask page.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

One question one is what is your single biggest challenge in whatever your topic is?

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

So you're looking for people that you're, that you're wanting to find out what, what the unmet need is and whatever it is they're trying to do.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Okay, it could be in a dog training ditch.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

You're going to run an ass page and say this is download this.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

And folks, how can I say this?

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Lord, it isn't about giving you the highest level, highest quality copyrighty copywriting skills right now.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Okay?

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

I'm not doing that.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

This is conceptual here.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Okay?

This is the problem, this is how you solve it.

Give me your email name, click the link below and immediately they receive the cheat sheet.

Okay.

Then you have a form that ties to your autoresponder, whatever one you're using.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Okay.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

The form will have all the information need, name, email and of course the field with the questions.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Question what's your biggest single biggest challenge and potty training your dog.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Right?

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

How is, how difficult has it been to find an answer to the problem?

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Should be your next question.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

This is important.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Yeah, you need to know this.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

You need to find out how serious they are to finding an answer.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

You tell you know how important is it that you, you sold this problem?

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Well, not very important at all.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Well, they're not a high value prospect at this point.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Now you still want them on your email list, but, you know, they're.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

They're not a serious buyer at this point in time.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Let's put it like that.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

They subconsciously have to admit that there is a serious problem that they want to solve.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Amen.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

So what would it mean for you if you could solve this problem?

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

And that's it.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

That's the end of the form.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Don't make it more complicated.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Don't make it 10 questions or anything else.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Just ask three questions.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

If they answer them, they get your cheat sheet, period.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

And what's gonna happen is this.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

You run this traffic, you know, from AdWords, Facebook ads, you know, whatever the case may be, you may get 500 people click on it, 150 of them fill out this form.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Now you've added 150 people to your email list that have some interest in your training.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

In this example, how to potty train their dog, okay?

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Now you now have 150 people that are going to tell you what their biggest problem is.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

You'll probably find that ninety or a hundred of them have a very similar problem in some form or fashion.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

About 50 of them have another version of a problem, and the rest of them have, you know, scattered problems here and there.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

That's okay.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

So what you do.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

All right, what this is, I'm not going to go into detail on it.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

I almost, I almost went down a rabbit trail.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Brother Bob's known for going down rabbit trails.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

I'm going to try to stay focused here.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

What this is telling you is there is a huge unmet need in that marketplace.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

A hundred out of 150 people have this problem.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

So now you can start building your products, your trainings, based on those 100 people who have the same sort of problem.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Amen.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Next time we're going to go a little bit deeper on this because you can still create training products for the other 50.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

You may already have a training product that will help the other 50, but you're looking for the high value targets, the 100 to create your new product with.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

What you can do is reach out to the 50 and say, Hey, I also have this that can help you.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

You know, this checklist here.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Maybe it's a how to potty train your dog to not go on the sidewalk or something like that.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Okay?

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

A very specific type of training.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

You've already got a cheat sheet on that.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Send them the cheat sheet.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Build that value right off the bat.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Hey, this is what you know.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

I know you weren't interested in this other one.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

This, the training.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

I'm going to be doing next Wednesday at 2:00 or whatever the case may be.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

But I have this PDF that tells you how to take care of your problem and you send that to them for free.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Or maybe when you're having people sign up for the training, you make that as a free gift, as a bonus for signing up.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

That way the 100, the 50 people out of the 150 feel, wow, this guy knows me, right?

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

I'm gonna see what this other training's about.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

But either way, you're building value.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

And that's the whole point.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

The ask page is simply so you.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Matter of fact, let me stop the shares.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

I can look at you.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

The ask page is simply for you to establish credibility with your audience, with your target market, find out what the biggest need is in that niche and then address it.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

In exchange for them giving you your name, their name and email address, you're going to give them something of value that helps them immediately.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

By doing that, you can't help but build your email list.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

You can't help but build the value that you're looking to do.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

And you can't help but grow your business income because you're winning people's hearts and minds because you are addressing their needs.

Pastor Robert Thibodeau:

Amen.
