In this new episode of Delay the Decay, we interview Kristina Mohn, a licensed massage therapist with Rise Up Wellness and Recovery, CrossFit Level 2 coach at CrossFit 970, and competitive Olympic weightlifter. Kristina recounts her alcoholism, confusion about purpose and faith, and a 2014 rock-bottom moment after leaving her young children home while drinking, leading to sobriety in 2016, and finding a welcoming church that helped her release shame and embrace redemption, motivating her to be vulnerable so others feel less alone.
Kristina talks about how CrossFit became a stabilizing focus in early recovery, leading to coaching, weightlifting competition, and placing sixth at Masters Worlds. We discuss discipline as daily intentional consistency, scaling workouts for stimulus, and encouraging stuck people to take the next step with supportive community.
