Shownotes
In this podcast episode, host Winter Baserva interviews the Founder and CEO of AdaptAbilities, Michelle Hordal. AdaptAbilities is a beacon of hope for families with children who have diverse abilities or special needs. Michelle, a former teacher, was moved by the struggles and frustrations of families with children with disabilities. This led her to establish AdaptAbilities, with its main service being respite care. This service is crucial in preventing caregiver burnout and providing families with a much-needed break.
Michelle started by providing respite care herself, but as the demand grew, she expanded her team. She was able to attract talented professionals through her connections with the University of Alberta. Today, her leadership team consists of five people, including a director of Fun Development and Communications, and a CFO.
