Shownotes

The salient point of this discourse is unequivocally articulated: one must fear God, diligently adhere to His commandments, and thereby leave a lasting legacy. This imperative, derived from Ecclesiastes 12:13, serves as the cornerstone for a life that is both purposeful and eternally impactful. As we reflect on the profound gravity of our actions and decisions, we are reminded that each deed, whether public or hidden, will ultimately be subject to divine judgment. In this exploration, we confront the crucial reality that earthly success is inconsequential if it is not aligned with faithfulness to God. Thus, we are called to engage in a life characterized by integrity, wisdom, and a steadfast commitment to building a legacy that transcends temporal existence. The discourse presented in this episode is a profound elucidation of the essence of a life well-lived, grounded in the biblical text of Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, which admonishes individuals to 'Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all.' The speaker, with gravitas and earnestness, implores us to confront the reality of divine judgment, emphasizing that our earthly actions and their motivations will be scrutinized in the heavenly court. The analogy of a funeral serves as a poignant reminder that at the culmination of life, material possessions and superficial accolades hold no significance; rather, it is our love, integrity, and the legacy we leave behind that truly matter. We are challenged to prioritize faithfulness to God over transient success and to live with an awareness of eternal consequences, highlighting that a genuine relationship with the divine is paramount to our existence. The first major theme revolves around the seriousness of judgment, as articulated in Ecclesiastes 12:14, which asserts that every deed, including those hidden from public view, will be brought to light. This serves as a clarion call for accountability, urging individuals to eschew the temptation of seeking blessings without the corresponding commitment to holiness. The speaker emphasizes that grace should not be misconstrued as a license for moral laxity, but rather as the divine empowerment to live righteously. The discourse further delineates the distinction between wisdom and mere hype, underscoring that true prosperity is inextricably linked to wisdom—a wisdom that acknowledges the eternal ramifications of our decisions. The episode culminates in a compelling exhortation to build a legacy that transcends earthly existence, invoking Jesus’ teaching on storing treasures in heaven. The speaker articulates a vision for biblical prosperity that is rooted in purpose, urging listeners to utilize their resources to advance the Kingdom of God, support the church, and bless the less fortunate. The call to 'Finish Strong' resonates as a rallying cry for believers to remain steadfast in their commitments and to ensure that their lives reflect faithfulness, integrity, and an unwavering fear of God. Thus, the episode serves as a vital reminder that our earthly journey is but a precursor to our eternal destiny.

Transcripts

Speaker A:

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter.

Speaker A:

Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is man's all.

Speaker A:

Ecclesiastes:

Speaker A:

Ecclesiastes:

Speaker A:

For God will bring every deed into judgment.

Speaker A:

Brothers and sisters, Ecclesiastes does not end with a motivational quote.

Speaker A:

It ends with a courtroom sentence.

Speaker A:

Not because God is cruel, but because God is serious.

Speaker A:

And the reason many people are playing with sin, playing with money, playing with calling, playing with time, is because they have forgotten one thing.

Speaker A:

You will stand before God.

Speaker A:

You will give an account, not just for what you did, but for why you did it.

Speaker A:

So Solomon, after chasing pleasure, projects power and prosperity under the sun, comes back with a final conclusion.

Speaker A:

The final conclusion, the anchor that holds a whole life together.

Speaker A:

Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is man's all.

Speaker A:

Ecclesiastes:

Speaker A:

If you don't live with this end in mind, you will waste in the middle.

Speaker A:

This is the concluding message on the series, the Book of Ecclesiastes.

Speaker A:

Fear God.

Speaker A:

Finish strong.

Speaker A:

Leave legacy.

Speaker A:

Let me take you to a place everyone understands.

Speaker A:

A funeral.

Speaker A:

At a funeral, nobody cares about your fathers.

Speaker A:

Nobody cares about your car.

Speaker A:

Nobody cares about your flex.

Speaker A:

They care about your love, your integrity, your impact, your legacy.

Speaker A:

People cry, people speak.

Speaker A:

Then the service ends.

Speaker A:

And here is the truth Ecclesiastes forces us to face.

Speaker A:

Your body stays, but your life continues into eternity.

Speaker A:

So the question is not how successful were you.

Speaker A:

The question is, were you faithful to God?

Speaker A:

Because you can win on earth and lose in heaven, but you can lose on earth and win forever.

Speaker A:

Point number one of the message.

Speaker A:

Judgment makes life serious.

Speaker A:

Ecclesiastes:

Speaker A:

Let that verse sit in your chest.

Speaker A:

Every deed, every hidden thing, every secret motive, every private compromise.

Speaker A:

We live in a generation that wants blessing without accountability.

Speaker A:

They want grace without repentance.

Speaker A:

They want prosperity without holiness.

Speaker A:

But the Bible doesn't preach that.

Speaker A:

Second Corinthians 5:10 says, for we must all appear before the judgment, seat of Christ.

Speaker A:

Now listen, if you are in Christ, you are saved by grace, yes.

Speaker A:

But you will still give an account of your stewardship.

Speaker A:

How did you use your time?

Speaker A:

How did you use your gifts?

Speaker A:

How did you handle money?

Speaker A:

How do you treat people?

Speaker A:

Grace is not permission to live sloppy.

Speaker A:

Grace is power to live clean.

Speaker A:

Some of you fear your boss more than you fear God.

Speaker A:

You fear losing your job more than losing your character.

Speaker A:

You fear being exposed on WhatsApp than being exposed before heaven.

Speaker A:

Today, God is rearranging your priorities.

Speaker A:

Point two of the message Wisdom is better than hype.

Speaker A:

Ecclesiastes 9:17 says, the quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded than the shouts of a ruler of fools.

Speaker A:

In other words, hype is loud.

Speaker A:

Wisdom is lasting.

Speaker A:

Prosperity without wisdom is not a blessing, it is a setup.

Speaker A:

Some people don't need money yet.

Speaker A:

They need maturity first.

Speaker A:

Because if God increases you while you're still foolish, you will use blessings to fund your bondage.

Speaker A:

Proverbs 4, 7 says, Wisdom is supreme, therefore get wisdom.

Speaker A:

And Proverbs 9, 10 says, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

Speaker A:

So what is wisdom?

Speaker A:

Wisdom is the ability to make decisions today that you won't regret tomorrow.

Speaker A:

Y' all don't hear me?

Speaker A:

Wisdom is the ability to make decisions today that you won't regret tomorrow.

Speaker A:

Wisdom is seeing the future consequences of present choices.

Speaker A:

Wisdom is saying no to quick money if it costs your soul, if it pays, but it stains, it's too expensive.

Speaker A:

Brothers and sisters, some people are praying for open doors.

Speaker A:

But if God opens the door, your character will fall out the car.

Speaker A:

So God delays, not to punish you, but to protect you.

Speaker A:

Point three of the message Eternal people build eternal things.

Speaker A:

Ecclesiastes forces you to ask, what are you building that will outlive you?

Speaker A:

Jesus said to Matthew, it said in Matthew 6:19, 20, do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven.

Speaker A:

Meaning, don't invest only where moths can eat and thieves can take.

Speaker A:

Invest in eternity.

Speaker A:

Invest where eternity keeps it.

Speaker A:

Now hear me.

Speaker A:

This does not mean Christians must be broke.

Speaker A:

No, no, no.

Speaker A:

God gives power to produce wealth, as we Read in Deuteronomy 8, 18.

Speaker A:

But the difference is this biblical prosperity is not just about what comes to you.

Speaker A:

It's about what flows through you.

Speaker A:

It's wealth with purpose to take care of your family, to establish legacy, to fund the gospel, to bless the poor, to build institutions, to send missionaries, to support the church and to advance advance the kingdom.

Speaker A:

God doesn't increase you to impress people.

Speaker A:

He increases you to impact people.

Speaker A:

And Solomon lands the plane and says, fear God, Keep his commandments.

Speaker A:

Not because God wants to control you, but because God wants to preserve you.

Speaker A:

What does this look like in real life?

Speaker A:

So how do you live?

Speaker A:

Ecclesiastes:

Speaker A:

Put the fear of God back on your decision making.

Speaker A:

Before you move, ask, will this honor God?

Speaker A:

Will this grieve the Holy Spirit?

Speaker A:

Will this still be clean in the light?

Speaker A:

2.

Speaker A:

Build a life you can defend in eternity.

Speaker A:

Don't live for a Moment.

Speaker A:

Live for a verdict.

Speaker A:

Make peace.

Speaker A:

3.

Speaker A:

Make peace with being different.

Speaker A:

Holiness will make you unpopular.

Speaker A:

Integrity will make you misunderstood.

Speaker A:

But God will defend you.

Speaker A:

4.

Speaker A:

Finish strong.

Speaker A:

A strong start is good, but heaven celebrates, finishes.

Speaker A:

Acts:

Speaker A:

Don't die with potential, die with obedience.

Speaker A:

Some of you are on the edge of compromise right now.

Speaker A:

You are calling it a business decision, but God is calling it a spiritual decision.

Speaker A:

If you fear losing money more than you fear grieving God, your prosperity is already in prison.

Speaker A:

Hebrews:

Speaker A:

And Jesus said, what good is it to gain the whole world and lose your soul?

Speaker A:

Mark 8:36 so hear the rebuke with the love.

Speaker A:

Stop playing, stop delaying.

Speaker A:

Stop excusing what God has convicted.

Speaker A:

But hear the encouragement too.

Speaker A:

God is not only warning you, God is inviting you.

Speaker A:

Inviting you to a life where you can sleep at night.

Speaker A:

A life where your money is clean.

Speaker A:

A life where your conscience is not screaming.

Speaker A:

A life where you can look at heaven in the face and without flinching.

Speaker A:

Peace is the reward of purity.

Speaker A:

Say this with me, Lord, put your fear in me.

Speaker A:

Make me faithful with money.

Speaker A:

Make me faithful with time.

Speaker A:

Make me faithful with my calling.

Speaker A:

Help me finish strong.

Speaker A:

Let me live.

Speaker A:

Let my life leave a legacy.

Speaker A:

Here are some questions for reflection.

Speaker A:

If God audited my life, what would he say I truly worship?

Speaker A:

Where am I tolerating compromise because it pays?

Speaker A:

If I die this year, what would my family inherit?

Speaker A:

Wisdom or wounds?

Speaker A:

Do I fear God enough to obey him when it costs me?

Speaker A:

And what legacy am I building that will still speak when I'm gone?

Speaker A:

Let us pray.

Speaker A:

Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank you for your word that does not flatter us, but frees us.

Speaker A:

Put the fear of the Lord back in us.

Speaker A:

Not fear fear that runs from you, but reverence that runs to you.

Speaker A:

Forgive us for living casually with holy things.

Speaker A:

Forgive us for compromise.

Speaker A:

Forgive us for vanity.

Speaker A:

Forgive us for loving the world.

Speaker A:

Lord, cleanse our motives.

Speaker A:

Make our hearts pure.

Speaker A:

Make our hands clean.

Speaker A:

Make our money clean.

Speaker A:

Teach us wisdom.

Speaker A:

Teach us diligence.

Speaker A:

Teach us stewardship.

Speaker A:

And yes, bless us with biblical prosperity.

Speaker A:

Increase that does not corrupt us.

Speaker A:

Wealth that doesn't harden us.

Speaker A:

Success that does not steal our souls.

Speaker A:

Help us to finish strong.

Speaker A:

Help us to keep your commandments.

Speaker A:

Help us to leave a legacy of faith, integrity, generosity and impact.

Speaker A:

And we will not live under the sun.

Speaker A:

We will live under God, in Jesus mighty name.

Speaker A:

Amen.

Speaker A:

Brothers and sisters, that is the conclusion of the whole matter.

Speaker A:

Fear God and keep his commandments.

Speaker A:

And let that prosperity, let your prosperity serve eternity.

Speaker A:

If this series has blessed you, share it.

Speaker A:

And more importantly, let's live it.
