Shownotes
This week we headed to the Hereford Racecourse cycle track to check out the 5 & 10 Club — and let’s just say… we left smiling, slightly breathless, and very impressed.
Pauline and Kerry even took one of the bikes out for a spin (Pauline steering, Kerry pedalling — teamwork makes the dream work 🚴♀️). While out on the track, we chatted to Josie, a regular member who shared why she keeps coming back and what makes the group such a welcoming, feel-good place to be.
Back at the clubhouse, we sat down with Jim Kenyon, the founder and organiser of the 5 & 10 Club, to hear how the group began, why inclusivity and “no judgement” were non-negotiable from day one, and how something so simple has grown into a much-loved Monday night community.
The 5 & 10 Club is all about doing what you can — walk or cycle as little or as much as you fancy, borrow a bike (including adapted bikes), then stick around for a chat and refreshments. No pressure, no competition, no Lycra required.
If you’ve ever thought “I should probably get moving… but I don’t want it to be awkward” — this episode (and this club) might just be for you.
🎧 In this episode you’ll hear:
- How the 5 & 10 Club started (and why it works so well)
- What keeps people coming back week after week
- Why “your pace” really does mean your pace
- Proof that exercise can be friendly, social and actually fun
Pop the kettle on, have a listen, and see why this brilliant Hereford group is lapping up the love, one Monday night at a time. 💙
