Shownotes

It's been a long time coming, but the industry is finally on the verge of a fish oil standard. This means standardised regulations around the world for fish oil quality, which you'd assume can only be a good thing. Dr Harry Rice, VP Regulatory and Scientific Affairs at GOED, once said GOED's concern for a fish oil standard is that it wouldn't be flexible enough to allow for rapid innovation and natrual variations in oil composition due to environmental factors. We caught up with Dr Rice at Vitafoods Europe 2018 to see if GOED still feel the same way about the standard, discover the history leading up to this moment, and ponder the effects of climate change on fish oil quality.
