Today I'd like to talk to you about time and boy is that a topic
Isabel:that's on my mind and I know for sure from the women entrepreneurs that I
Isabel:talk to, my friends, business owners that I work with, my clients, time is
Isabel:something that All of us think a great deal about and worry about and fret about
Isabel:that we're not making the most of our time, that we're running out of time.
Isabel:Oh my god, will you give me some time?
Isabel:This week in a Mastermind session with my incredible Mastermind partners.
Isabel:One of them referred to a statement from her contractor that really stuck with me.
Isabel:He said, I have more time than I have life.
Isabel:Say that again.
Isabel:I have more time than I have life.
Isabel:That really caused me to reposition how I'm looking at time.
Isabel:And although I've been pretty good, I thought, about thinking
Isabel:about what's really important and how I will live a vibrant life and
Isabel:how I will live without regrets.
Isabel:I haven't really put it in that context of thinking that about in the life that
Isabel:I have left, how am I using that time
Isabel:to the best advantage and how do I use my time to fulfill the legacy
Isabel:that I believe I'm here to live and to make me feel like I am worthy, that I
Isabel:matter, that I'm making a difference in helping other people in the world
Isabel:and helping myself because the power to grant wishes is also important to
Isabel:me, and I have to start with my own.
Isabel:How time also was reflected in my thinking this morning.
Isabel:I went for a walk, and as I'm recording this, it's autumn here in Canada, and
Isabel:I had fun picking up these leaves, and it reminded me of the seasons.
Isabel:and the seasons of life, and how many falls, how many autumns have
Isabel:I lived, and how many more will I live, and what will I do with those.
Isabel:We're women entrepreneurs, we are always thinking about other people's
Isabel:time, making sure that we are valuable.
Isabel:for the time that they give us.
Isabel:Making sure we have time to look after our staff, our suppliers, time to be on time
Isabel:for meetings, time to get the reports done for the bank, time for strategic planning,
Isabel:time for feeling guilty about the personal relationships that we feel that
Isabel:we are neglecting, time for, oh my god.
Isabel:This work life balance thing is bullshit, because there is no balance,
Isabel:either you're in personal time, or you're in professional time, or you're
Isabel:somewhere in limbo, not doing anything.
Isabel:that is the mission That I have in working with women entrepreneurs,
Isabel:women who know that they want to put more life in the time that they have
Isabel:left, and more purpose in the choices they are making with their time now.
Isabel:Now I get caught up in our businesses every day.
Isabel:just keeping up, just watching the clock and making sure that
Isabel:we can tick off all those boxes.
Isabel:So join me.
Isabel:here on the Lift As You Climb podcast in the next segment of our time
Isabel:and we're going to talk about that and I'm going to share some of my
Isabel:learnings, my ahas, and my oh what the fucks about time in my life.
Isabel:And also bring some really amazing other women entrepreneurs on to share
Isabel:their secrets about expanding time.
Isabel:Because it wasn't just Einstein that figured this out.
Isabel:Stay tuned.
