Shownotes

Summary:

In this solo episode, Dr. Jim argues that Trump’s treatment of service members, veterans, and U.S. allies is not surprising at all. He frames it as part of a longer pattern of greed, self-interest, and disregard for sacrifice or public service.

This episode is a direct critique of Trump, his family history, and what Dr. Jim sees as a repeated betrayal of military members, veterans, and Afghan allies. He connects Trump’s past rhetoric about soldiers with present-day immigration enforcement, ICE detentions, and the treatment of people who supported the U.S. during the war in Afghanistan. The core message is simple: this is not an exception or a surprise, this is exactly the behavior Dr. Jim says people should expect.

] Dr. Jim: This is exactly what you would expect from somebody who described American soldiers as suckers and losers.

[:

[00:00:41] Trump's dad. Was fond of cavorting with the Klan and attending their rallies and got arrested for it. And again, is another person that did whatever he could to avoid any sort of military service.

[:

[00:01:15] he's clearly a person that's never been in a fight. His actions and his whining and complaining. Demonstrates that for all of us to see. But when we talk about how he's treated the military during his time in office. What we are seeing over the last couple of years follows a pattern of behavior.

[:

[00:01:50] We also know from his first term that Trump. Knew that Russians and specifically Vladimir Putin was putting bounties on US [00:02:00] soldiers and funding opposition forces in the Taliban and Isis. And Trump looked the other way and ignored it.

[:

[00:02:35] so what exactly am I referencing? What I'm referencing is this pattern of behavior where Trump Republicans, ice. Immigration and DHS are putting the lives of American servicemen and service women at risk, and trump and the regime are turning their backs. On anyone and everyone who helped us [00:03:00] during Afghanistan and Iraq

[:

[00:03:36] And what that means is that since the withdrawal from Afghanistan. A disastrous withdrawal that Trump engineered and dropped in the lap of the Biden administration. More than 10,000 families have remained separated from each other, and now are having to navigate the immigration system that Trump has [00:04:00] weaponized against Brown and black people. This is part of the incompetence and the evil of the Trump regime, and it's another example of the regime turning their backs and being disloyal to people who are willing to pay the ultimate price. That is par for the course for this regime.

[:

[00:04:25] Al. He's a 41-year-old father of six who worked with the US military in Afghanistan. He had no known health issues when he was detained in Texas by ice and in less than 24 hours of ice custody. He's now dead. This is typical of what's been happening across these ICE concentration camps across the us.

[:

[00:05:21] And this death is the 12th death in just the first three months of 2026. So with the death tolls so far in ice custody this year, it's set to break the record that was set last year of 30. And that death toll is gonna continue to accelerate and climb because we all know that these concentration camps are designed for one purpose, and that's to exterminate brown and black people. And none of this takes into account the death tolls that we don't know about from places like Alligator Alcatraz.

[:

[00:06:25] George Reddis is a US citizen and Iraq war veteran who was detained by ICE and other federal agencies for three days and three nights. He was denied access to an attorney, was not allowed to make phone calls, was not presented to a judge. Put in isolation, and who knows what else was done. During his time there, and that's just one example of a military veteran who was captured and detained by ice, simply because of the fact that he was brown.

[:

[00:06:56] You have the case of Ed Choudry, who [00:07:00] has been in the US for 30 years as an Army veteran, is married to a citizen, has children who were citizens, and he was held. For 124 days by ice. Now this is a disabled army vet who lost his legs serving in the military and Trump and his ice Gestapo, rounded it, him up and kept him in jail for four months, and who knows how many other people. Other veterans, other citizens, other legal residents have been caught up and imprisoned by Trump and his ice goons.

[:

[00:07:40] This is what we expect from an entire family who's never done anything except grift, steal and con their way into billions. This is exactly what we expect from the rich, spoiled billionaire class who's never had to do anything that required hard work. [00:08:00] This is the exact outcome that we expect when these people get put in charge of anything,
