About the Show:
"I feel like you can make a difference here. It's not so large, it's not established that the die is already cast. Each one of us can make a difference in this place.”
- Nelson Peacock
Born and raised in Arkansas, Nelson Peacock always had a sense of belonging to the Natural state. After a stint in Washington DC, and California, where he pursued his career in public policy, the opportunity to head the Northwest Arkansas Council lured him back home. Nelson's return was prompted by his own realization of the tremendous growth and potential of the region, and his desire to be part of that journey. He was particularly intrigued by the council's vision for balanced economic growth, focusing on both the Fortune 500s of the corporate world and small and medium-sized businesses dotting the landscape of NWA.
The Northwest Arkansas Council’s unique collaborative approach, which brings together various stakeholders, educators, and businesses, resonated with Nelson's belief in collective growth. His focus on improving healthcare, boosting workforce development, and fostering entrepreneurial growth, is a testament to his commitment to making Arkansas an attractive destination for businesses and talent alike.
Nelson is particularly passionate about workforce development, entrepreneurial support, and improving healthcare access. In his view, these elements not only contribute to economic growth but also to the quality of life in the region. The healthcare initiative, specifically, strikes a chord with Nelson, as he sees it as a way to enrich the lives of local individuals and contribute to the region's economy. His story is a testament to the power of collaboration in fostering regional development and progress.
