Shownotes

Five minutes from wound up to ready. Do it in the car, on the edge of the bed, or at the kitchen table.

About 5 minutes, with wave sounds underneath.

Arms up, big breath in, arms down on the way out. Then two deep ones, held and let go slowly. After that you leave the breath alone and let it find its own rhythm. Your natural state is already the relaxed one. You are only getting out of its way.

Treat me to a coffee, keep the podcast free, and get my Weekly Calm every Sunday. It is all on stevenwebb.uk

Thank you for sitting with me.

Steven Webb:

Just while you're making yourself comfortable and getting settled in, I just want to tell you about another podcast I

Steven Webb:

have. It's called Stillness in the Storms Podcast. And it's a podcast that helps you to get a little inner

Steven Webb:

peace when you need it most and you probably have it least.

Steven Webb:

And it's just... Seeing life from a different perspective. And I'm also choosing not to have any

Steven Webb:

sponsors for either of these podcasts. So if you would like to treat me to a coffee, you can head

Steven Webb:

over to StevenWebb.uk or if you'd like to download the five simple practices for inner peace, also head

Steven Webb:

over to StevenWebb.uk. You are awesome. Settle in and enjoy the meditation. I won't disturb you

Steven Webb:

after the meditation.

Steven Webb:

This meditation is just five minutes long and it will help you to go from that stressed place or

Steven Webb:

that tense place to a more relaxed and ready for your day or ready for what's coming up next.

Steven Webb:

Ideally, if you can do this in a sat upright position, whether you're sat in the car, edge of the

Steven Webb:

bed or at a kitchen table.

Steven Webb:

And just keep your back up straight. Tuck your chin in slightly and now if you put raise your arms

Steven Webb:

above your head And put your hands together. And we'll take a deep breath.

Steven Webb:

And now as we breathe out, we lower our arms down either side of our bodies. Slowly resting our hands

Steven Webb:

on top of our legs.

Steven Webb:

And now we'll take a couple deep breaths together. And as we breathe in deep, we'll hold our breath and

Steven Webb:

then we'll breathe out slowly, relaxing the body. So if we do that now, take

Steven Webb:

a deep breath in. Hold it. And now as you breathe out, slowly relax the body, your

Steven Webb:

shoulders and your neck. And anywhere else there's some tension in your body. Now allow the breath to do what

Steven Webb:

it does best and just breathe in its natural rhythm.

Steven Webb:

Now we'll take another deep breath in. Breathe in right into the bottom of our bellies.

Steven Webb:

Hold it. And now we'll breathe out gently.

Steven Webb:

And as you breathe in calm, you can breathe out relax.

Steven Webb:

And just notice how you don't have to force the body to relax. It does it in a natural way.

Steven Webb:

It knows how to relax. The natural state of being is relaxed.

Steven Webb:

Your natural state of being is this softened feeling. This natural, comfortable and

Steven Webb:

security and safety. Feeling of everything is okay.

Steven Webb:

Everything is at peace. I don't need to be doing anything else but relax here right now.
