Dana discusses bullying and how it has changed in this new digital age, how life-altering the effects of bullying can be, and how it’s being swept under the rug by schools who are more concerned with perception and reputation and parents who are in denial. Dana’s daughter was bullied and harassed to the point she became critically ill - she spent several months in the hospital, missed over a year of school and she had to move out of the community she and her family had lived in for more than 20 years. The effects of the constant abuse have been catastrophic for her family and have stolen her daughter’s childhood. She was failed by a system that appears to be more concerned with public perception and reputation as well as parents who seem to refuse to believe that their children are anything but perfect.
