Chris Gaither is the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Marth Layne Collins High School (Collins HS) in Shelbyville, KY. Chris just completed his 10^th season at the helm of the Titan program. Averaging over 20 wins per season during his tenure there, Collins has become a perennial power in Kentucky high school basketball. In fact, Kentucky’s 2020 Mr. Basketball was none other than Collins product, Dayvion McKnight, a Western Kentucky University signee. Chris discusses program building, developing and managing youth programs, coaching the best player on the team, fundraising, his program’s calendar, among other topics. This interview will be of particular interest to those who are coaching at a new school, one without tradition and the challenges that comes with coaching in such a situation.
