At EDGECon, I was inspired by the words of Dale Thomas Smith, a speaker from Southern Mississippi. She emphasized the importance of having the right perspective on life's challenges - seeing them as opportunities for growth rather than mere obstacles. She highlighted the significance of studying, practicing, and teaching as a cycle for personal development. It's crucial to choose our attitudes and responses to life's circumstances, as our outlook shapes our experiences.
Dale's insight that the "what" must come before the "how" resonated with me, underscoring the importance of defining our goals before figuring out the strategies to achieve them. She also stressed the significance of choosing the right individuals to have in our corner, emphasizing the importance of clarity in our objectives. Every action we take in life plants a seed, and we need to consider the quality of the seeds we sow - whether they lead to positive growth or hinder our progress. Ultimately, the message is to do meaningful work and be mindful of the impact our actions have on our journey and those around us.
