When it comes to food and the entrepreneurial skills needed to succeed, there is a name that is synonymous in Shropshire. Ryan King.
Having heard his name mentioned before, we have never been able to get an interview together, that is until now, thanks to help from our good friend Liam Tinsley. Liam was instrumental in putting this together.
Ryan is of a unique Shrewsbury pedigree and has a story that offers a different perspective to business that we haven't heard before. The ex owner of The Smoke Stop, Ryan became a victim of his own success. The popularity of his restaurant became an almost 24hr job.
This caused Ryan to move to Ibiza and find a job where he was told what to do and grilled if he was late for work, just to feel human again.
After Ibiza, Ryan had the idea to take good old fashioned fish and chips and give a new spin with the keepings of tradition. (If you can imagine that) We are of course talking about the famous "Fish Heads" food truck which always creates a buzz wherever it turns up. With a state of the art truck, some of the most slick branding you'll see and food that tastes as good as it looks. How does battered soft shell crab on a stick sound to you?
From the Smoke Stop, to Ibiza, to travelling the country in a food truck. What has this been like as a transition? How have things been going and what is next for the man will a million ideas?
