Jeremiah:

Hi, and welcome back to casting seeds.

Savannah:

I'm Savannah, your holistic health practitioner and host.

Jeremiah:

I'm Jeremiah, your co host.

Savannah:

And you're listening to the only holistic health podcast that uses God's singular truth to give you individualized discernment.

Savannah:

Jeremiah told me he wasn't gonna do the intro, and then he did.

Jeremiah:

That was great.

Jeremiah:

She counted down in everything.

Savannah:

He threw me for a loop.

Savannah:

So today we have a really exciting episode for our nourishing news, which we're gonna make it a little different.

Savannah:

We're gonna put it in the middle of the podcast today for our nourishing news.

Savannah:

Today we're gonna be talking about how there's a new study that came out that proves that coffee, juice, and sodas, all three, actually create a much higher risk to stroke.

Savannah:

And it is a non biased study done through a college, so that's super interesting.

Savannah:

And also, we were doing another.

Savannah:

I feel like I need, like, a drum roll.

Savannah:

Is that a thing you say?

Jeremiah:

Is that a thing every time?

Jeremiah:

And I'm gonna tell you, no, it's not.

Savannah:

Once we get a budget for this, you guys will start having fun.

Savannah:

Sound effects.

Savannah:

We are doing another body mapping episode, specifically on our limbs.

Savannah:

So our legs, our hands, and our feet.

Jeremiah:

I thought limbs are arms.

Savannah:

Your limbs are all of them?

Savannah:

All four.

Jeremiah:

Oh, I thought your hands were separate.

Savannah:

They're on your limb.

Savannah:

Yeah, they are.

Savannah:

You didn't know that?

Jeremiah:

No, I know that.

Jeremiah:

Like, but, like, whenever you reference your limbs, like, it's normally, like, from the elbow or from the shoulder down.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

The shoulder down to your hand, to the tip of your fingertips.

Savannah:

That's a limb.

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

Your thigh, the top of your.

Jeremiah:

If you get your hand chopped off, you're not like, oh, I lost my limb.

Jeremiah:

Do you still have your arm?

Savannah:

A part of your limb, but you lost your hand.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

Which is a part of your limb.

Jeremiah:

Okay, semantics.

Savannah:

No, I think it's called biology, but it's okay.

Savannah:

That's what I'm here to teach you about today.

Jeremiah:

Let's hear it.

Savannah:

Let's get to it.

Savannah:

So speaking of hands, we are actually going to start with hands today just because I feel like so many people ask, when it comes to chinese medicine and medicine in general, what on earth do I do if, like, I have nails splitting or.

Savannah:

People talk about cracked hands a lot, just a lot of different things.

Savannah:

And also, too, when people look in their hands and then they touch certain spots and it's sore, it can equate to different parts or organs in their body.

Savannah:

Not everyone does well with that, but when it comes to your body, God made everything very purposeful.

Savannah:

So some people respond really well to reflexology, which is what that's called.

Savannah:

The same thing can happen also to the bottom of your feet.

Savannah:

Some parts of your feet will cramp, and they'll equate that to certain organs.

Savannah:

And again, not everyone responds great to reflexology the same way that not everyone responds great to chiropractic or what's that?

Savannah:

The asian one?

Savannah:

Acupuncture or even massage, right?

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

So this is another way for you guys to be able to do body awareness and check in and have something else added into your tool belt in case you have any of these ailments that Jeremiah is going to mention.

Savannah:

Are you ready, love?

Jeremiah:

Definitely.

Jeremiah:

I'm really interested in this because I've worked with my hands most of my life.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Jeremiah:

I've had every single type of thing on my hands.

Jeremiah:

Burns, cuts, broken bones.

Savannah:

Okay, well, I'm sure there are a lot of people not listening to this.

Savannah:

I was gonna say people's husbands who probably are listening to this that can relate.

Savannah:

And I'm sure there are a lot of women who do work with their hands, like me.

Savannah:

So why don't you read the ailments, my love?

Jeremiah:

All right, let's do this.

Jeremiah:

Breaking and splitting, chipping nails.

Savannah:

Oh, yeah.

Jeremiah:

These are an indicator that your liver needs help.

Jeremiah:

They may also be a sign of calcium, zinc, or EFA deficiencies or low stomach acid.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

So when people have breaking and chipping or splitting nails, one of the biggest things that I ask them is if they have a magnesium or especially a zinc deficiency.

Savannah:

Magnesium and zinc tend to go hand in hand, but specifically magnesium citrate.

Savannah:

So that's something to look into.

Savannah:

And the solutions for this are actually to take the herb milk thistle, at least to 500 milligram capsules a day, and then also eating broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, any type of whole grain.

Savannah:

I also like chicory and just any kind of seeds or any vegetables that are super fibrous.

Savannah:

Those are normally better.

Savannah:

Again, these all support liver health.

Savannah:

Drinking two cups of nuts, nettle tea.

Savannah:

Also every day it's high vitamin C, higher in zinc, anything with high vitamin C.

Savannah:

So you can also add in tons of different types of fruits and veggies, but specifically, mango and strawberries have really high amounts of vitamin C.

Savannah:

Sold.

Savannah:

Oh, you guys, there are these mango?

Savannah:

Well, I don't know.

Savannah:

I kind of want to gatekeep it a little bit.

Savannah:

Everyone's going to get them.

Savannah:

Now.

Savannah:

There are these blue bags of organic mangoes at Costco frozen.

Savannah:

And they are.

Savannah:

We got my sister onto it because she's living with us now.

Savannah:

They are the best.

Savannah:

They taste like candy.

Savannah:

They literally taste like candy.

Savannah:

They are so good.

Savannah:

And we just literally pour them into a bowl frozen and eat them.

Savannah:

Our dogs do too.

Jeremiah:

And then we put Tajin on it or something.

Jeremiah:

Give it some flavors.

Jeremiah:

A kid.

Jeremiah:

Well, that's me.

Savannah:

I don't do that.

Savannah:

That's disgusting.

Jeremiah:

Yeah, I love it.

Jeremiah:

But I just realized this is not gonna cover all my abuse that I've done to my hands.

Jeremiah:

It's gonna be internal effects.

Jeremiah:

What, this list for my hands?

Savannah:

Oh, yeah.

Jeremiah:

It's not going to cover anything that I've done to my own hands.

Savannah:

Well, I mean, yeah, this is all.

Jeremiah:

Natural, like, body functions that have affected your hands and showing you results.

Savannah:

But also, too, if your hands tend to be more brittle and your nails split and you have a hard working job and you're wondering why your nails split so easily.

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

This is a good thing to know.

Savannah:

I also, when it comes to drinking two cups of nettle tea a day, I prefer tinctures.

Savannah:

Just doing 30 drops, which is actually way more than two, but take 30 drops in the morning and then maybe ten before bed to support your liver.

Savannah:

But that, to me, is much.

Savannah:

It's much better.

Savannah:

And it kind of combines helping your liver and boosting your vitamin C levels and calcium.

Savannah:

And it does help your stomach acid.

Savannah:

So nettle is a great way to help splitting your nails.

Savannah:

And you can also soak your fingernails in the nettle tea as well.

Jeremiah:

And nettle has actually been popping up a lot in our episodes lately.

Jeremiah:

Mm hmm.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

Even in the biblical herbs.

Jeremiah:

Starting to think maybe I should start drinking some nettle tea.

Jeremiah:

Getting.

Jeremiah:

Get a nettle tincture for myself.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

I'll never say no to Jeremiah buying more tinctures.

Jeremiah:

Oh, my God.

Jeremiah:

I'm not even gonna start, like, going to sprouts.

Jeremiah:

Oh, boy.

Jeremiah:

Or walking out of there with at least ten extra tinctures that we didn't need, that we're going to have in the future when we do need it.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

I'm all about preparativeness.

Jeremiah:

Yeah, she is.

Savannah:

What's the next ailment?

Jeremiah:

White spots on the nails are a classic sign of zinc deficiency.

Jeremiah:

More than 80% of people that go in to see a holistic health practitioner.

Jeremiah:

That's me, they come and they get tested for deficiencies.

Jeremiah:

And zinc is number one to pop up.

Jeremiah:

By the time white spots reach your nails, your zinc levels are pretty low, and you need to do something about it soon.

Savannah:

Yeah, well, now, you guys, I can do labs, which, by the way, I am so, so, so excited about.

Savannah:

And I want to do the labs at cost as well.

Savannah:

So if anyone has any questions about labs or wants to get their labs done, Jeremiah is literally checking all of his nails right now.

Savannah:

I can't.

Jeremiah:

What is this white right here?

Savannah:

Yeah, that's a spot.

Jeremiah:

That's a white spot.

Savannah:

No, I'm just messing.

Jeremiah:

Yeah, when you say white spot, that's.

Savannah:

Just the nail bed.

Jeremiah:

Okay.

Jeremiah:

Got me.

Jeremiah:

I was thinking more like along their lines with, like, mushroom ladybug spots.

Savannah:

No.

Savannah:

Yeah, they're like little spots that come up.

Savannah:

I used to get them all the time when we had really bad candida.

Savannah:

Yeah, I used to get them really bad.

Jeremiah:

Yeah, I'm good.

Savannah:

But you and I also take zinc.

Jeremiah:

Do I see that?

Jeremiah:

I mean, she just puts it in my bag and I just eat it and no questions asked.

Savannah:

Anyway, when it comes to doing labs, I wanted to let you all know that I can do labs, and if you are struggling financially, I help you guys get them at cost.

Savannah:

So, for instance, before I go into solutions for white spots, jeremiah and I, when we found out about our first pregnancy, it was going to cost us all together with the two separate doctor's appointments and a blood draw, almost $300 just to find out if we were pregnant.

Savannah:

The first appointment was $150, and we were going to pay $100 for the blood draw and then another $50 for the second appointment.

Jeremiah:

And they weren't going to do it unless we got, what was it?

Jeremiah:

Std tested also.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

And they were adding in all these extra tests.

Savannah:

So I'm going to throw out there, guess how much a pregnancy test cost a blood test?

Jeremiah:

$7.

Savannah:

$7.

Jeremiah:

Oh, that's right.

Jeremiah:

That's awesome.

Savannah:

Just a little over $7.

Savannah:

So if that tells you HOw MUch people mark up testing, I give it to you Guys at cost.

Savannah:

You just have to pay for the appointment with me online or in person.

Savannah:

I'm trying to get all of those lab appointments to be online only just to kind of separate it so that I can be in the office doing alignment work for people.

Savannah:

But back to solutions.

Savannah:

I just wanted to say really quick.

Jeremiah:

Though, do you want them to.

Jeremiah:

Would they have to schedule an appointment with you?

Savannah:

Oh, yeah, I do have a free.

Savannah:

That's a good question.

Savannah:

I have a free 15 minutes consultation call.

Savannah:

So if someone calls and they're like, well, you know, I do get this covered by my insurance.

Savannah:

Great.

Savannah:

Do it through your insurance and I talk to them about that, if anything, over 15 minutes, I start charging by the minute just so that people really do respect that time.

Savannah:

But ultimately it's pretty easy to figure out within about five minutes if someone would genuinely need me or nothing.

Savannah:

But yeah, they would just have to let me know if they want to do labs.

Jeremiah:

Awesome.

Jeremiah:

Thank you.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

And they can book online.

Jeremiah:

Everything's bookable for online solutions.

Jeremiah:

For white spots.

Savannah:

Yes.

Savannah:

Start taking one teaspoon of liquid algae every day.

Jeremiah:

You.

Savannah:

It's so good.

Savannah:

And a tablet of zinc supplement daily, which I think it'd be 200 milligrams of zinc.

Savannah:

And I would take it, I prefer it before bed, but I've been taking it in the morning as well just to kind of see the difference.

Savannah:

And I haven't felt a huge difference.

Savannah:

But I do know that taking zinc before bed is better for you.

Jeremiah:

Is that a more along the lines of like a common thing for like, just flat 200 or does that change, like male female body weight?

Savannah:

Yeah, all of these do, these are all general suggestions.

Savannah:

If someone's not seeing a difference, then they should double it.

Savannah:

But it just depends on, you know, your body awareness levels.

Savannah:

So I'm always going to recommend the lowest and safest amount for every person.

Jeremiah:

Gotcha.

Savannah:

Uh, but those are, these are good questions.

Savannah:

Uh, for, also for snacks, if you just eat more pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds throughout the day, they're really high in zinc, so.

Jeremiah:

Yeah, I gotta get those deshelled.

Jeremiah:

It's too much work.

Savannah:

You're so lazy.

Savannah:

I can't.

Jeremiah:

I.

Jeremiah:

It'd be like those people on the side of the street, like, you pull over and like, there's tons of shells on the side of the street right there.

Jeremiah:

So gross.

Jeremiah:

You see it at Home Depot all the time.

Savannah:

I can't.

Savannah:

Okay, well, anyway, with cracks also, I just wanted to add for another issue, people tend to get a lot of cracks on the skin and tiny blisters, especially on their fingertips.

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

Um, it's the same thing.

Savannah:

It's just another sign of zinc deficiency.

Savannah:

I'm going to say that a lot of these are also signs of zinc deficiency for the feet as well.

Savannah:

But.

Savannah:

So it's the same thing.

Savannah:

And the same solutions that we've mentioned for the past two are good, like, especially for white spots.

Savannah:

Everything that we mentioned would help.

Savannah:

I even would add in that aloe vera gel, drinking a little bit of it.

Savannah:

Not the kind you put on your body.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

If you genuinely go to different stores have it.

Savannah:

We just tend to use sprouts because we're close to one.

Savannah:

They have a gallon size of aloe vera gel that's 100% edible.

Savannah:

And you can just drink that, which is great.

Jeremiah:

I haven't seen the gallon it smaller now.

Savannah:

Thank you.

Jeremiah:

Reduced the size.

Savannah:

Of course.

Savannah:

Well, you can just get aloe Vera gel.

Savannah:

All right, Jeremiah, on to the next ailment.

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Jeremiah:

So swollen hands and.

Jeremiah:

Well, not my hands.

Jeremiah:

Fingers or puffy hands.

Jeremiah:

A sign of b six deficiencies.

Savannah:

Yes.

Savannah:

So a lot of people have vitamin B six deficiency.

Savannah:

nday, this upcoming Monday at:

Savannah:

so if you guys could be praying for her on October 14, that would be a huge blessing.

Savannah:

But she gets a lot of vitamin b six deficiency because of her cancer and her lupus diagnosis.

Savannah:

But you're going to want to eat plenty of high vitamin B foods like brown rice, sunflower seeds, avocados.

Savannah:

Buckwheat especially, is probably the best on the list.

Savannah:

And legumes.

Savannah:

My mom literally craves beans like you.

Savannah:

You've seen her.

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

She loves.

Jeremiah:

She makes the best beans.

Savannah:

She does.

Savannah:

She is the widest Mexican.

Savannah:

She's not mexican at all, but she married one.

Jeremiah:

She is white.

Savannah:

The tea has really taught her how to cook.

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Jeremiah:

Voilas.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

You're going to have to also take an additional daily dose of at least 35 milligrams a day of b six.

Savannah:

And I would also say probably the same thing for vitamin b twelve.

Savannah:

But you just want to be careful not taking too much b twelve because it can give you anxiety or panic attacks if you take too much of it.

Savannah:

So just take your blood levels, see where you're at, and then you can do a dosage from there.

Savannah:

How about the last one, love.

Jeremiah:

All right.

Jeremiah:

The last one is red scaly skins on.

Jeremiah:

On hands.

Jeremiah:

What does it mean by that?

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

So red scaly skin can be a mixture of a lot of different things, but normally it's a hydration issue.

Savannah:

Red scaly skin can be itchy, it can be dry.

Savannah:

It's mostly tight and uncomfortable, and there definitely is a fascia tension that makes any type of mobility actually really difficult.

Savannah:

You could have a zinc EFA and especially a vitamin C deficiency.

Savannah:

And e deficiency.

Savannah:

That's what I meant by, like, the lack of hydration.

Savannah:

But red scaly skin can also be a sign of food sensitivities.

Savannah:

So rashes, itchiness, all that kind of stuff, especially over yeah, frito paws for dogs.

Savannah:

Dogs do get that when.

Savannah:

When they have food sensitivities, I was going to say, too.

Savannah:

It's also a type of form of psoriasis, right?

Savannah:

So whenever people have long term psoriasis, I talk to them and say, hey, you know, psoriasis isn't just on your face or your hair, which is the most common.

Savannah:

It also happens in the groin.

Savannah:

It happens all over people's bodies, including their hands.

Savannah:

Yeah, your hands and feet.

Savannah:

It's going to be in very moist places normally.

Savannah:

So that's why it really tends to coagulate around the face and head, because it gets sweaty.

Savannah:

But also that's why people really get it in their armpits.

Savannah:

And, you know, if you have clammy hands and feet, it can cause your body can go on the opposite end and try to create more severe dryness.

Savannah:

So people who tend to get clammy hands can then get the red, scaly skin on top of their hands, and it can be itchy and dry.

Savannah:

But there are solutions for this, you guys.

Savannah:

milligrams of zinc, and then:

Savannah:

This includes cod liver, krill oil, and all sorts of different types of vitamin E.

Savannah:

You could also add algae to that as well if you're vegan, but it's not going to have the same effects as an actual animal would.

Savannah:

Another thing is to probably get yourself tested for any type of food sensitivities.

Savannah:

You should probably start by eradicating the most likely suspects, which are probably going to be wheat and, you know, sugar, chocolate, dairy, those types of things, and then see how you're doing from there, which Jeremiah was really sad when we had to do that.

Savannah:

But this is a good break because I think I hear the news coming.

Savannah:

Jeremiah, welcome to the third installment of the nourishing news segment.

Savannah:

I'm really excited to bring this to you because this was actually a doozy, and it probably makes Jeremiah more sad than anything else we should talk about today because the frequent fizzy fruit or high coffee consumption drinks are linked to higher stroke risk.

Savannah:

,:

Savannah:

Frequent drinking of fizzy drinks or any type of fruit drink, caffeinated drink with coffee specifically, is associated with an increased risk of stroke, according to the new findings in their research.

Savannah:

This also showed that drinking more than four cups of coffee per day doubles the increase of risk of stroke.

Savannah:

That's crazy for the people who drink a lot of coffee.

Savannah:

So, according to these new findings from global research studies co led by University of Galway, in collaboration with McMaster University in Canada, and an internal network of stroke researchers.

Jeremiah:

Fight or flight?

Savannah:

Yeah, with your adrenals.

Savannah:

So that's before I get into the rest of it, I just, reading this headline, people were like, what?

Savannah:

How could fruit drinks be associated with soda or all the.

Savannah:

I'm assuming it's more, but it says carbonation, it just says fizzy drinks.

Savannah:

All of these things do trigger fight or flight.

Savannah:

Your adrenals and Jeremiah kept whispering it when I was taking breaths, but your adrenals start to trigger when your gut has any type of inflammation, which when you have high amounts of sugar and juice or sugar mixed with bubblies, because any type of fizzy drink also kind of attacks your immune system and caffeine attacks your immune system.

Savannah:

All of these things can cause your body to go into a blood clot and a stroke.

Savannah:

And the reason why is because a stroke occurs when the blood supply part of the brain is cut off and it damages the brain.

Savannah:

It can either be an issue mix stroke, which is usually due to the blood clot, or it can be an intercerebral hemorrhage, which is the bleeding into the brain tissue.

Savannah:

Interstroke is one of the largest international studies of risk factors of stroke, involving almost 27,000 people in 27 countries, including almost 13,500 people who experienced their first stroke.

Savannah:

Those who took part in the study came from a broad range of geographical and ethnic backgrounds with different cardiovascular risks profiles, and including Ireland and the UK and the US, and so on and so forth.

Savannah:

This study, which focused on people's consumption on fizzy drinks and fruit juice, found fizzy drinks, including both sugar sweetened and artificially sweetened, were linked to 22% risk.

Savannah:

Fizzy drink risks were also higher in eastern and central Europe, Middle eastern Africa and South America.

Savannah:

The next was sugars and preservatives inside any type of fruit juice offset the benefits usually linked with fresh fruit and actually increase the stroke risk.

Savannah:

Fruit drinks also were linked to 37% increase and a chance of a stroke due to bleeding.

Savannah:

So it was the incarnal in, I'm sorry, intracranial hemorrhage.

Savannah:

With these two drinks per day, the.

Savannah:

You're basically tripling your risk of stroke.

Savannah:

So if you were to have a bubbly drink and a fruit drink, just one of them per day, you're tripling your risk of stroke.

Savannah:

Women show the greatest increase in chance of stroke due to bleeding, mostly due to fruit drinks, while drinking more than seven cups of water a day was linked to reduced odds of stroke by clot.

Savannah:

Here's the part of the study that focused on people's consumption of coffee and high caffeinated tea.

Savannah:

Drinking more than four cups of coffee per day increased the chance of stroke by 37%.

Savannah:

Drinking caffeinated tea was linked to a reduced chance of stroke by 18% to 20%.

Savannah:

Okay, that made me feel better.

Savannah:

I thought it was gonna.

Savannah:

When they said it earlier, it made it sound like tea was doing it.

Savannah:

So actually, tea reduces stroke by 18% to 20%.

Jeremiah:

Good.

Jeremiah:

Calming.

Savannah:

Not all of it.

Savannah:

Some of it.

Savannah:

They're saying that the way your body processes tea and coffee are different.

Savannah:

Drinking three to four cups per day of black tea, including breakfast and earl grey teas, but not green tea or herbal teas, was linked with 29% lower chance of stroke.

Jeremiah:

So I'm going to live forever.

Savannah:

Black teas are actually safer for you by almost 30%.

Savannah:

That's crazy.

Savannah:

Drinking three to four cups per day of green tea was linked with 27% lower chance of stroke.

Savannah:

It also says that when you added milk to your tea, the reduced chance from stroke that you got before when you were drinking tea was actually canceled out by adding milk.

Savannah:

And it's because the milk becomes pasteurized.

Savannah:

So a raw milk.

Savannah:

Also, if you put a raw milk into a hot cup of tea or a hot cup of coffee, it is now pasteurized.

Savannah:

For people who think otherwise, I don't know what to tell you.

Savannah:

The last one is there is an important geographical difference in the findings.

Savannah:

Tea was linked with a lower chance of stroke in China, South America, and a higher chance of stroke in southeast Asia, which is really interesting.

Jeremiah:

You know, I'm curious because, you know, coffee is one of the biggest mold products in the world.

Jeremiah:

I wonder if that has is the reason why it's so bad.

Savannah:

You know, it didn't mention that.

Jeremiah:

I know I don't.

Jeremiah:

It didn't consider that because it looks like it's really going towards caffeine.

Jeremiah:

But if tea and it has caffeine.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

It was just a caffeine issue.

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Jeremiah:

Because like, a cup of black tea is half of a cup of coffee and the only difference is one's a bean, one's a leaf.

Savannah:

That's not necessarily true because your body processes coffee differently than it would a tea.

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

So.

Jeremiah:

You'Ll do a coffee enema, but you won't do a tea enema.

Savannah:

People could.

Savannah:

You mean you.

Savannah:

Were you saying me?

Savannah:

I've done none.

Savannah:

I have done zero nms.

Savannah:

That is something I've yet to try.

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

Don't I have friends who rave about it?

Savannah:

So I would.

Savannah:

I would do it with a licensed professional, but not in the privacy of my own bathroom.

Jeremiah:

No.

Jeremiah:

I'll get the water hose.

Savannah:

Absolutely not.

Savannah:

But you do raise a good point.

Savannah:

I'm not sure.

Savannah:

I'd have to read more in depth into the actual study, but.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

That is your nourishing news of the day.

Savannah:

I hope you all feel encouraged next time you drink your fourth cup of coffee that you just increased your stroke.

Savannah:

Same thing with soda and juice.

Savannah:

Yeah, I know.

Savannah:

Sorry.

Savannah:

It was unnourishing news.

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

Back to limbs.

Jeremiah:

Make better choices.

Jeremiah:

Going on to some limbs.

Jeremiah:

Tender spots where the shoulder meets your arm.

Jeremiah:

I get this one a lot.

Jeremiah:

It's an indicator of vitamin b twelve deficiency.

Jeremiah:

But why would.

Jeremiah:

Why can.

Jeremiah:

Why wouldn't I have all the hand sign?

Jeremiah:

Like, I don't have the hand signs, but my shoulder has that tenderness.

Savannah:

B twelve is different than b six, but the other one's more of a b six deficiency.

Savannah:

This one's more of a b twelve deficiency.

Jeremiah:

B twelve stops at my shoulder and then only b six makeshi it to my hand.

Savannah:

Okay, I'm done anyway.

Savannah:

welve lozenges that are about:

Savannah:

And this is for someone who doesn't have a shoulder injury, who doesn't work out a lot, who doesn't get outside.

Savannah:

This is for someone who tends to be more, you know, at home on their computer, not very active, not moving very much.

Savannah:

And they get these tender spots where their shoulder meets their arm where if I were to work on it and work like work on it as an alignment specialist, it would not get better.

Savannah:

It would continue to almost bruise and feel worse.

Savannah:

That's what the tender spot means.

Jeremiah:

Gotcha.

Savannah:

Does that make sense?

Jeremiah:

Yeah, I guess.

Jeremiah:

That's not me.

Savannah:

Yeah, that's not you.

Savannah:

Sorry, honey, but you do get the next one.

Savannah:

Can you read it?

Jeremiah:

Let's see.

Jeremiah:

I get.

Jeremiah:

Do I get small pimple bumps on the arms?

Jeremiah:

Yeah, I do.

Savannah:

On the back of the arms, specifically.

Savannah:

Yeah, you can get them all over your arms.

Jeremiah:

Possible sign for beta carotene, B complex and EFA deficiency.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

And also food intolerance as well.

Jeremiah:

Yeah, I thought mine was from gluten.

Jeremiah:

Like whenever I eat, gluten just outbreak on.

Savannah:

So when you have consistent food intolerance, you get a beta carotene deficiency and a b complex deficiency.

Jeremiah:

Is that what that means?

Savannah:

So you have to start taking, well, one, figure out what your deficiencies are.

Savannah:

You can do that through food tests, especially stool samples are the best way to do it.

Savannah:

But the main solutions are taking the beta carotene, 15 milligrams a day and vitamin B complex, probably 50 milligrams a day, and then EFA 500 mcg daily.

Savannah:

Next is also taking digestive enzymes.

Savannah:

And I love the designs for health.

Savannah:

Digestives.

Savannah:

Those are my favorite.

Savannah:

I like to say you take one before a small meal and two before large meals, and you need to start eating a high range, a wide range, I should say, of foods that contain high levels of vitamin b.

Savannah:

Twelve, including sprouted seeds, fish temp, miso soup.

Savannah:

Lots of different types of fermented foods in general tend to have higher amounts of vitamin B.

Savannah:

Twelve as well.

Jeremiah:

No wonder I'm low.

Savannah:

Yeah, I'm kidding.

Savannah:

Not your vibe.

Jeremiah:

All right, jumping over to the next one.

Jeremiah:

Red spots on the front of the thigh.

Savannah:

Oh, yeah.

Savannah:

So we're now moving down to the lower body.

Jeremiah:

Yep.

Savannah:

Because red spots on the thighs are a little different than red spots on your arms.

Jeremiah:

Do I get those?

Savannah:

No.

Jeremiah:

No.

Jeremiah:

Cool.

Jeremiah:

Okay.

Jeremiah:

So it's possible to get that from being vitamin A deficient.

Savannah:

Yes.

Savannah:

Vitamin A is your, if you guys listen to our pregnancy and our I, our bearing and birthing series, we talked a lot about vitamin a.

Savannah:

Vitamin A is the powerhouse.

Savannah:

Like vitamin it does and creates everything.

Savannah:

That's why it's a.

Savannah:

A is the best top of the line.

Savannah:

So if you are vitamin a deficient, you tend to get these red bumps on your legs and which actually, honey, if you've noticed, I have those.

Jeremiah:

Oh, really?

Jeremiah:

I haven't noticed.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

I can show you.

Jeremiah:

Okay.

Jeremiah:

Why are you deficient?

Savannah:

I don't know.

Savannah:

I don't think my mom got enough vitamin A during pregnancy.

Jeremiah:

Oh, is that something that leads from that?

Savannah:

Mm hmm.

Jeremiah:

Oh, yeah.

Savannah:

It makes you vitamin a deficient for the rest of your life.

Jeremiah:

No way.

Savannah:

Yep.

Savannah:

Where you have to then take higher amounts of vitamin a.

Savannah:

Eating organ meats is a really great way to increase vitamin A.

Jeremiah:

We better cook that heart in the fridge.

Savannah:

Yeah, we should.

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

It's actually in the freezer.

Savannah:

But also taking wild blue green algae supplement is really good.

Savannah:

Sprulina, it's what it's called, but about a teaspoon or six tablets of it daily.

Savannah:

Eating seaweed, which is another type of algae, is a great one as well.

Savannah:

A lot of people recommend a good multivitamin, but I'm not a fan of multivitamins because then you don't know which vitamin is actually helping you within it.

Jeremiah:

And that makes sense.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

And then which ones you're kind of just peeing out and getting rid of it.

Savannah:

It's kind of a waste of money, in my opinion.

Savannah:

Also, you could be taking too much of something, which could make you worse.

Savannah:

So I'm not a fan of vitamin multivitamins also, just trying to supplement beta creatine as well for 15 milligrams daily can really help.

Savannah:

Just process vitamin a, and it's a good source of vitamin a.

Savannah:

These are also a list of foods with high vitamin a.

Savannah:

Broccoli, brussels sprouts, carrots, dandelion greens, halibut, kale, mustard greens, papaya, parsley, pumpkin, red pepper, salmon, sweet potatoes, watermelon, watercress, and yellow squash.

Savannah:

So all things that I actually crave and I really love to eat, which I think is dawning on Jeremiah right now.

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Jeremiah:

Interesting.

Jeremiah:

We should cook that octopus also.

Jeremiah:

I bet that has a lot of vitamin A in it.

Jeremiah:

Moving on to some sore knees.

Jeremiah:

If your knee is sore where the kneecap joins the main bone off of the leg, it could be an indicator of vitamin and mineral deficiency.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

Overall, vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

Savannah:

It's because it's the beginning of arthritis.

Savannah:

And when you have chronic inflammation in your gut, normally that leads to arthritis or arthritic pain, which then can mean that you are not getting enough selenium in your body or vitamin e.

Savannah:

So normally, I'd recommend 400 mcg selenium and then about 200 milligrams of vitamin E for at least three months.

Jeremiah:

So moving.

Jeremiah:

Moving to the whole leg.

Jeremiah:

Let's talk about some leg cramps.

Jeremiah:

I used to get some of those pretty bad, to the point where I.

Savannah:

Couldn'T walk when we were first married.

Jeremiah:

Yeah, that was brutal.

Jeremiah:

I was, like, deficient in water, deficient in, like, vitamins and all kinds of stuff, minerals.

Jeremiah:

I was.

Jeremiah:

Savannah was sitting there massaging my leg, and, like, at the same time, she gets a phone call.

Jeremiah:

Like, not the same time, but, like, weeks before me, a friend calls in.

Jeremiah:

She has the same exact problems going on.

Jeremiah:

I'm like, it's crazy.

Jeremiah:

Cramping leg pains means your calcium levels are low.

Jeremiah:

You may also have a magnesium deficiency, since magnesium is needed to mobilize calcium into the bones.

Jeremiah:

And I remember we were rubbing magnesium into my feet, my hands, everything.

Savannah:

Jeremiah was passing out.

Savannah:

We were using so much magnesium, it hit him like a ton of bricks.

Savannah:

It was crazy.

Savannah:

But, yeah, normally, magnesium is the big one.

Savannah:

Also mineral deficiency.

Savannah:

So you're not getting enough good mineral salts.

Savannah:

Not iodized table salt, sea salts, gray wet sea salts, because you guess what, they're high in magnesium.

Savannah:

So a good solution is to take 750 milligrams of magnesium and 500 milligrams of calcium twice a day.

Savannah:

Add seaweed to your soups and stews because it's high natural levels of both of those things.

Savannah:

Eat a lot of leafy greens and vegetables.

Savannah:

Again, very high naturally in magnesium and calcium and zinc.

Savannah:

And if you exercise often and sweat often, it's also a good idea to take magnesium supplement after you work out.

Savannah:

So just allows to help in general.

Savannah:

pain, you can take a at least:

Jeremiah:

So that something for me to keep in mind, especially while working out Jeremiah.

Savannah:

I run through has to go back and listen to our podcast quite often.

Savannah:

It's kind of funny.

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Jeremiah:

All right, so we talked a lot about muscles, joints and everything.

Jeremiah:

Let's get into some veins.

Savannah:

Is it varicose veins?

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Jeremiah:

I don't know much about this.

Jeremiah:

I know I see it mainly on people that are a little bit older, and I see it on women more than men.

Savannah:

Let's say they're just further along in wisdom in years.

Jeremiah:

But like, so, like, I.

Jeremiah:

What I'm saying is I can't really relate or know many people that have it.

Jeremiah:

Yeah, you know, it's okay, but I know it's something that's just noticeable, an indication of nutritional deficiencies and or I congestion in the liver.

Jeremiah:

What does liver have to do with your veins?

Savannah:

So, liver health has a lot to do with your veins because at the end of the day, if you are not moving enough.

Savannah:

Right.

Savannah:

If you are standing for long periods of time, and if you are sitting for long periods of time, blood is pooling in to your legs, especially because it's lower to the ground.

Savannah:

That's why varicose veins happen in your legs more often than not, because the blood starts pooling down to the bottom.

Savannah:

And when the valves in your veins that control your blood flow become damaged or weakened, it causes the pooling to enlarge in your veins.

Jeremiah:

Okay.

Savannah:

And then that's when they split off and create varicose veins.

Savannah:

Does that make sense?

Jeremiah:

Yeah, it does.

Savannah:

That's why people can get their veins removed.

Savannah:

So why does that have to do with your liver when you're okay so liver helps filter out your blood?

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

Your kidneys create red blood cells.

Savannah:

If the blood is coagulating down at the bottom of your legs and not fully getting up to your liver and not fully pumping out properly, your liver becomes exhausted and overworked.

Savannah:

But if you start working your liver more, if you start doing a liver cleanse, it forces.

Savannah:

Even if you're not as active as you should be, it forces the blood to come up to your liver.

Savannah:

Does that make sense?

Jeremiah:

Yeah, that makes sense.

Savannah:

Okay, good.

Jeremiah:

Can I ask another question?

Savannah:

Yeah.

Jeremiah:

So we talk a lot about cleanses and stuff, like liver, kidney stuff.

Jeremiah:

How often should someone do that?

Jeremiah:

I'm just curious.

Savannah:

This is a big question, and maybe we can save it.

Savannah:

Maybe the next episode can be a detox episode.

Savannah:

Maybe we should do that, because detoxing properly is a whole.

Savannah:

It's a whole other conversation.

Savannah:

Doing protocols properly.

Savannah:

Detox.

Savannah:

Actually.

Savannah:

Didn't we do an episode about that?

Jeremiah:

Yeah, we did.

Savannah:

Okay.

Jeremiah:

Sounds familiar.

Jeremiah:

But we didn't.

Jeremiah:

We didn't talk about how often.

Jeremiah:

I.

Jeremiah:

I don't think we did well.

Savannah:

Because you do it as often as needed.

Savannah:

But here's the thing.

Savannah:

I'll use my candida as an example.

Jeremiah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

My liver cannot be cleansed.

Savannah:

I'm not cleansing out my organs right now, except for my small intestine and large intestine of yeast.

Savannah:

That's what I'm cleansing.

Savannah:

So my liver is working overtime, my kidneys are working overtime.

Savannah:

My whole detox system is working overtime right now.

Jeremiah:

That's why you do liver support, not liver cleanse.

Savannah:

Exactly.

Savannah:

Because if I were to then tell my liver to cleanse right now, or my gallbladder, or my kidneys, or my hypothalamus, my adrenals, whatever it is, if I were to add all of that extra pressure onto my body, it would collapse.

Savannah:

I can barely work out right now without getting super out of breath because my body is working so hard right now internally.

Savannah:

So why would I add that extra pressure onto my body?

Savannah:

And a lot of people do that, and they do it improperly.

Savannah:

So it's when we cleanse our livers and have a full detox of our liver, normally half of it is building up the liver and then detoxing it properly.

Savannah:

So I don't know.

Savannah:

I'm not a huge fan of liver cleanses.

Savannah:

I feel like people do them way too often.

Savannah:

But if you've never done them before, yes, you should probably do it once.

Savannah:

So, getting to the solutions, I recommend taking a vitamin e, at least 400 IU daily bioflavonoids 500 milligrams daily.

Savannah:

That's really important.

Savannah:

And then a magnesium,:

Savannah:

Not magnesium.

Savannah:

Glycinate during the day, but make sure you take it at night.

Savannah:

So also if you have any hemorrhoid pain, this can also lead to varicose veins as well.

Savannah:

So just be careful if you have hemorrhoids.

Jeremiah:

That was very informative.

Jeremiah:

I didn't know much about varicose veins, but that all makes sense.

Jeremiah:

Let's go on to cracked feet.

Jeremiah:

Cracking on your feet indicates a possible rise of yeast in the body.

Savannah:

Yes.

Jeremiah:

Do you have cracked feet right now?

Savannah:

You don't remember when my feet were kind of cracked?

Jeremiah:

I don't remember.

Savannah:

Like last year when I was pregnant.

Savannah:

Oh, do you remember that?

Savannah:

You're the one who noticed that my feet were a lot more dry.

Jeremiah:

In fact, I do remember that.

Savannah:

You do?

Jeremiah:

That.

Jeremiah:

That was earlier this year.

Savannah:

Yeah, even earlier this year we didn't find out that we had yeast until July.

Jeremiah:

Oh, wow.

Jeremiah:

I forgot.

Jeremiah:

That's crazy.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Jeremiah:

And how about right now?

Jeremiah:

Are you.

Savannah:

I don't know.

Savannah:

Let's look at each other's feet.

Savannah:

You want to see?

Jeremiah:

Yep.

Jeremiah:

Lift up that foot.

Jeremiah:

Yeah, you got some cracking.

Jeremiah:

It's a little dry around the ridge.

Jeremiah:

And then right here.

Savannah:

The ridge.

Savannah:

No one has any idea what you're talking about.

Savannah:

The heel.

Jeremiah:

The heel.

Jeremiah:

You're so smart.

Jeremiah:

I don't know what to call this thing.

Savannah:

It's a foot.

Savannah:

Yeah, mostly around the heel.

Savannah:

It's not cracked, though.

Savannah:

I would just say it's dry.

Jeremiah:

It's not as bad as before.

Jeremiah:

It is dry.

Jeremiah:

Let me take my shoe off.

Savannah:

Sorry.

Savannah:

It's gonna sound so.

Jeremiah:

Don't mind the smell.

Savannah:

Oh, no, you don't really have it hydrated, but mine is also 15 years old.

Jeremiah:

Your feet?

Savannah:

No, my candida.

Jeremiah:

Oh, okay.

Savannah:

So adding biotin supplement to your diethyde 50 milligrams daily to prevent yeast organisms is really good.

Savannah:

It's more of like preventing it from budding at the beginning part of the cycle.

Savannah:

And also massaging your feet with flax oil, which I would say oregano oil would be better.

Savannah:

Massaging your feet and also taking oregano oral internally.

Savannah:

And I mean, I have a whole candida protocol, so a yeast protocol.

Savannah:

Also eating higher amounts of garlic.

Savannah:

I'm just trying to think taking a biofilm killer berberine is also great and then ending every 2 hours after you take these things.

Savannah:

Taking activated charcoal is really helpful as well.

Jeremiah:

It just makes me think of all those people who have those you know those scratching thingies for their feet.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

And pumice stones.

Jeremiah:

Yeah, those pumice stones.

Jeremiah:

And they have all those cracked feet and they just do that and they don't even think about, like, what's causing this.

Jeremiah:

They just think it's dry feet.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

Most people who need to use pumice stones on their feet, those cheese graters.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

Well, also, too, if you have fungus in your nails at all.

Savannah:

That's another thing I wanted to add to this list that I forgot.

Savannah:

If you have.

Savannah:

If you continuously get fungus in your nails or feet, normally it's an internal and.

Savannah:

Or it could be a combination external amount of fungus in your body could help with that.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

Which is yeasthen.

Savannah:

You can also do tea tree oil on it topically.

Jeremiah:

Oh, really?

Savannah:

But I think the best thing is when it's, like, chronic and it's embedded in, like, the nail has gotten really thick and kind of gross, actually.

Savannah:

No, you can go get it lasered now.

Jeremiah:

Oh, whoa.

Savannah:

Yeah, they can laser it off.

Jeremiah:

I was not expecting that answer.

Savannah:

Well, thank you guys for listening to this week's episode of casting seeds.

I also am super sad that we didn't mention any Bible verses, but I want to say our biblical herb series has been super enlightening and really challenging and wonderful.

Savannah:

And I'm just so thankful that God created all of these herbs and supplements and food and really did.

Savannah:

I mean, it's just, it's so evident that all these things were made to really benefit us as humans.

Savannah:

And I've heard a lot of people say that it's egocentric or human centric whenever we talk about the all of the world and creation being made for us and blessed for us, but it's not.

Savannah:

It's God centric.

Savannah:

We are worshiping the Lord.

Savannah:

We are made in the image of God and he created all of these things as blessings for Adam.

Savannah:

Remember, all the animals and all the plants, it was made for humans.

Savannah:

So it is not egocentric, it is not man centric.

Savannah:

It is man using creation as God ordained.

Savannah:

That's what it's made for so that tracks.

Jeremiah:

I agree.

Savannah:

Yeah.

Savannah:

But I'm super honored and blessed to be able to continue doing this podcast again.
