Shownotes

Join Geraldine & Christine from the Herbal Extract Company as we discuss Nettle leaves. These possess tiny white hairs that are similar to a glasslike hypodermic needle. These spikes can pierce the skin and inject an acrid fluid containing several substances including formic acid, the same chemical in ant and bee stings. This burns human skin causing small blisters, hence, the common name stinging nettle. Any plant that goes to that extent to protect itself must have something worth possessing.

Stinging nettles are a rich source of nutrients containing a variety of vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, amino acids, polyphenols, and pigments, many of which also act as antioxidants inside the body. As a result, Nettle leaf is one of the most commonly used medicinal plants in the world due to its health enhancing qualities.
