Recently, I had a chance to reconnect with a teacher from high school who had a lot of impact in my life. So much so, that when I was pursuing a degree while in the service, it was to be a teacher. While I did not go the teaching route after getting my diploma, Mr. Hanson made a lasting impression for the rest of my life. I have several of my high school friends who are teachers. One of my family members is also a teacher. Here is to all the Mr. Hanson's, Mrs. Harvey's, Mrs. Marron's, Mrs. Lee's, Mrs. Samaniego's who despite all the challenges as well as being extremely underpaid, are still making a difference on the lives of many students.
