Speaker:

What if I told you that some of the

most mystical days of December are days

Speaker:

we've almost completely forgotten about?

Speaker:

Mark This time in a way

that feels potent for you,

Speaker:

that feels life-giving that feels magical.

Speaker:

Hello and welcome back to

Remember Why You Are Here,

Speaker:

a podcast for seekers and sensitives

where you can relax, receive,

Speaker:

reconnect to yourself and remember

the most important thing of all:

Speaker:

why you're here.

Speaker:

I'm Asia Suler and in this episode

today I wanted to talk about my

Speaker:

favorite end of the year,

beginning of the year, magical,

Speaker:

mystical rituals.

Speaker:

So this is something that I've

now been doing for years and

Speaker:

I actually love this so much more than

the readings I used to do for myself at

Speaker:

the beginning of the year.

Speaker:

I used to do a full tarot

spread reading for the year,

Speaker:

and I'll still do that

sometimes, but this practice,

Speaker:

I have just found it to be so much more

accurate on a month to month kind of

Speaker:

basis.

Speaker:

It is such a beautiful way to

initiate a new cycle in the

Speaker:

year.

Speaker:

It's such a beautiful way to

mark the liminality of this time,

Speaker:

especially between the end of Christmas

and the real beginning of when we

Speaker:

launch into January and into the new year.

Speaker:

So this practice is called

the Celtic Omen Days.

Speaker:

It's a mostly forgotten

winter divinatory tradition,

Speaker:

although I know some people are still

aware of this and still practicing this.

Speaker:

When I first found out about

this tradition and started

Speaker:

incorporating it into my

December into January every year,

Speaker:

I just really ended up finding that

I had the kind of guidance that I was

Speaker:

craving for the rest of my year.

Speaker:

So I wanted to make sure to share this

recording now so that you had this

Speaker:

practice in your back pocket for when

December 26 rolls around because that's

Speaker:

technically when this

omen day practice begins.

Speaker:

So this winter divinatory tradition is

here for you if you are someone who likes

Speaker:

to pick cards at the

beginning of the year,

Speaker:

if you want a glimpse of what is ahead.

Speaker:

And if you know that you want to create a

Speaker:

deeply mystical winter season,

Speaker:

if you know that this

winter you want to dive into

Speaker:

your own intuition to expand

your intuitive practices,

Speaker:

to make a deep connection to your

innermost self and your own wider

Speaker:

knowing, in a way that will

guide you in the year to come,

Speaker:

than I would love to see you

in my cozy online retreat,

Speaker:

Winter Intuition School.

Speaker:

I have been teaching Winter Intuition

School now for 10 years in so many

Speaker:

different iterations in small

groups, in retreat centers,

Speaker:

online, and for the second

time now in two years,

Speaker:

I've decided to make what was

exclusively an online live experience

Speaker:

now available for you

to drop in at any time.

Speaker:

And I also decided to make it 80% off,

Speaker:

which is pretty wild.

Speaker:

But we did this last year and I loved

being able to make it accessible for folks

Speaker:

and it was really amazing to see how

much people got out of this experience,

Speaker:

how it changed their winter

times, how it changed their lives.

Speaker:

I was reviewing the feedback that we

received from the folks who signed up last

Speaker:

year, and this one testimonial just blew

me away. The student wrote: "Honestly,

Speaker:

the amount of information and guidance

given is with you for a lifetime.

Speaker:

This class is beyond reasonable in price.

Speaker:

Anyone who's struggling with

self-growth, whether it be past traumas,

Speaker:

present challenges, or future decisions,

Speaker:

Asia and all of her wisdom guides you

with loving acceptance into your own power

Speaker:

of self-healing.

Speaker:

We all have access to this inner knowing

and this course helps you tune into

Speaker:

your inner voice. My dreams have taken

off. It's like a floodgate has opened.

Speaker:

I've recalled dreams as an 8-year-old

child that I've carried with me to now and

Speaker:

I am 63 years old.

Speaker:

I've been able to interpret this dream

and it no longer has power over me.

Speaker:

This course has empowered me and I'm

no longer afraid of learning my gifts.

Speaker:

The world has become magical."

Speaker:

So Winder Intuition School is a

five-week online retreat where we cover

Speaker:

intuitive development, shamanic

journeying, dreamwork, channeling,

Speaker:

and how to communicate

with nature spirits.

Speaker:

The whole retreat was designed to help

connect you to your own inner knowing.

Speaker:

It includes five, three-hour live

class recordings, in-depth PDFs,

Speaker:

weekly intuitive readings and spa

nights, musical playlists, meditations,

Speaker:

bonus classes, and so much more.

Speaker:

At the heart of this program is really

the understanding that within you are all

Speaker:

the answers and all of

the tools that we go into

Speaker:

inside of this retreat are here

to help you make this primary,

Speaker:

direct connection to

your own inner knowing.

Speaker:

As one of the students in

the course last year said,

Speaker:

"I got an answer to the question I

posed at the beginning of the course.

Speaker:

I had been trying to answer it for years,

Speaker:

and by the end of that five weeks I had

it." So if you're interested in that,

Speaker:

this online retreat is on sale

for 80% off until the new year,

Speaker:

and you can head over to my website,

asiasuler.com, to check it out.

Speaker:

Okay,

Speaker:

let's go ahead and get into the

forgotten Celtic Omen days because I

Speaker:

promise you, if you are a mystical,

Speaker:

magical oracle card picking person,

Speaker:

you are going to love this practice and

I'm excited to hear about what it opens

Speaker:

for you, what you see as you embark

upon this practice this year.

Speaker:

These days in December are

known for their magic and their

Speaker:

mysticism. In many different

cultures throughout the world,

Speaker:

this time surrounding the winter

solstice was one of the most holy

Speaker:

times of the year. So whether

you celebrate solstice, Hanukkah,

Speaker:

or Christmas, this time of the

year is known for its celebrations.

Speaker:

What if I told you that some of the

most mystical days of December are days

Speaker:

we've almost completely forgotten about?

Speaker:

If you're someone that likes to give

yourself a tarot card reading at the

Speaker:

beginning of every year,

Speaker:

or you're looking for a

divinatory look at the year ahead.

Speaker:

This is for you.

Speaker:

Also called the 12 Days of Christmas in

Speaker:

Brittany and Wales, these days of

December 26th to January 6th are

Speaker:

called the Omen Days.

Speaker:

I first learned about this Celtic

tradition of the Omen days through Caitlin

Speaker:

Matthews. The omen days are what

are called intercalary days,

Speaker:

which are days that are reckoned with at

the end of the year to catch the Roman

Speaker:

calendar up with the solar

calendar. So as such,

Speaker:

these days between December 26th

and January 6th are considered to be

Speaker:

time out of time,

Speaker:

almost like you've slipped the bounds

of the normal calendar and you're in an

Speaker:

in-between space.

Interestingly, in our culture,

Speaker:

the same is true.

Speaker:

That period between Christmas and the

first days of the new year tend to be a

Speaker:

very amorphous time,

Speaker:

a time where you very much feel like

you're in transition or in limbo.

Speaker:

All too often these days between Christmas

and starting up work again in the new

Speaker:

year get filled up with social

engagements or family obligations,

Speaker:

and we can miss out on the

specialness of this time.

Speaker:

In this Celtic tradition of the omen days,

Speaker:

one practice was to see each day as a

Speaker:

literal omen for the calendar year ahead.

Speaker:

So for each of the 12 days,

Speaker:

you have the ability to get a

preview of what might be coming in

Speaker:

this next year. So for example,

the first day of the omen days,

Speaker:

January 26th,

Speaker:

would represent what might

happen for you in January.

Speaker:

So with these omen days,

Speaker:

the invitation is to be in a

state of meditative awareness to

Speaker:

let go of bustle and planning,

Speaker:

and sometimes all the hustle that comes

around with the holiday time and just

Speaker:

open your perception to open your

mind to the possibilities of what you

Speaker:

might perceive on these

days. So with the omen days,

Speaker:

you want to use your metaphorical

mind to really look at the

Speaker:

story of each day as it

happens and be curious,

Speaker:

what omen were you noticing that

day? What events stood out for you?

Speaker:

So much of what makes these omen

days so vivid is if you bring

Speaker:

your intention to them.

Speaker:

So if you set the intention that you

would like to see a preview of each of the

Speaker:

12 months ahead in those 12 days and

then just be open to whatever it is that

Speaker:

comes and know that what you're

seeing is coming in for a reason,

Speaker:

it's helping you to prepare, orient,

Speaker:

and step into this new year feeling

grounded and resourced because you have an

Speaker:

inkling of what it might carry.

Speaker:

So my favorite ways to practice receiving

omens from nature is to go for a

Speaker:

walk every day in nature

during these 12 days.

Speaker:

So that might be a walk around your

neighborhood or down your block,

Speaker:

but it's a good idea to set a

timeframe. Like during this one walk,

Speaker:

this is when I'd like to receive my sign,

Speaker:

and then go back over the events

of that walk and see what occurred.

Speaker:

You can also decide to have the whole

day be an omen for that next month,

Speaker:

but definitely no matter what you decide,

Speaker:

take time at the end of the day and

just go over what it is you experienced,

Speaker:

and ask yourself,

Speaker:

how can this sign or how

can this experience be

Speaker:

revelatory?

Speaker:

How can this actually be showing me the

blessings of what might be coming so

Speaker:

that I can walk into this new year

feeling prepared and excited for what's to

Speaker:

come?

Speaker:

So if you really want to

reinfuse the magic back into your

Speaker:

celebrations this December,

check out my class,

Speaker:

Holiday Magic and Medicine Making.

Speaker:

In the class we talk about ancient

rituals and practices for bringing

Speaker:

the earth into your

celebrations at this time.

Speaker:

We also talk about specific

herbs and recipes that can

Speaker:

really infuse your season with

the magic of the natural world,

Speaker:

as well as crafts and other earth-led

practices to really enrich the

Speaker:

mysticism of these December celebrations.

Speaker:

And however you decide

to celebrate this season,

Speaker:

know that there is all the

potential in the world for you to

Speaker:

mark this time in a way

that feels potent for you.

Speaker:

That feels life-giving,

that feels magical.

Speaker:

So now I would love to hear from you,

Speaker:

how do you plan to mark or

celebrate these intercalary days,

Speaker:

the days from December 26th to

January 6th? What kind of rest,

Speaker:

rejuvenation or magic do you want

to practice during these days?

Speaker:

And if you end up trying

out the 12 omen days,

Speaker:

I'm so curious, What

did you see for January?

Speaker:

So thank you so much for

watching and until the new year,

Speaker:

may all of your celebrations

this December be blessed.

Speaker:

So I will definitely be doing this

practice again this year because it has

Speaker:

become my favorite thing to do each year.

Speaker:

It really feels like it

infuses those 12 days with

Speaker:

so much extra magic, and I don't

know if you feel this at all,

Speaker:

but sometimes especially

after Christmas is over,

Speaker:

I experienced this slump in

energy where I feel like a

Speaker:

little disillusioned or just a little

low energy and then it builds up again

Speaker:

towards the new year,

Speaker:

and then the same thing happens

right after New Year's Eve. Well,

Speaker:

with this practice,

Speaker:

it's like that slump has just disappeared

because every day has this really

Speaker:

beautiful, focused,

intentional aspect to it,

Speaker:

and it just really helps me

stay connected to the magic.

Speaker:

I'm really feeling like this is going

to be particularly essential for me this

Speaker:

year,

Speaker:

as that time will be

my last couple weeks of

Speaker:

my sabbatical. So if

you're just tuning in now,

Speaker:

I have been on a writing sabbatical

for the last five months,

Speaker:

writing my next book. It has

been so incredible, so deep.

Speaker:

I have a lot to say about the

practice of taking a sabbatical,

Speaker:

how important it is. Everything

I've learned during this process,

Speaker:

and I'm just really looking forward

to having these omen days to integrate

Speaker:

before I'm back in the new

year with new sharings,

Speaker:

new openings, and new offerings.

So starting on Solstice,

Speaker:

we will be on a company-wide

break until the end of the year,

Speaker:

but I will be back on

December 31st with the

Speaker:

reading for January,

Speaker:

and then the following week I'll be back

with our yearly reading for the year

Speaker:

ahead, for 2026. That feels

very futuristic to say.

Speaker:

I cannot believe it is 2026 already,

Speaker:

but I will be back then with the

reading for the month ahead for January

Speaker:

and the reading for 2026 as

we launch into the new year.

Speaker:

So thank you so much

for being a part of this

Speaker:

whole experience this

past year. I launched.

Speaker:

Remember Why You Are

here almost a year ago.

Speaker:

I launched it last February and this

first year of the podcast has just been

Speaker:

beyond my wildest imagination.

Speaker:

It has been so incredible, so healing,

Speaker:

so connective. This is so much fun,

Speaker:

and being able to hear from

you has just meant the world.

Speaker:

So if you have ideas for episodes

that you want to hear in the

Speaker:

future or you have feedback or

you just want to leave me a little

Speaker:

holiday love note, then head

over to AsiaSuler.com/remember,

Speaker:

and you can leave me a voice note.

Speaker:

You can also leave comments wherever

it is you're listening to this podcast.

Speaker:

And if you want to give me a

Christmas gift, if you're like,

Speaker:

I really want to send Asia something

cute with a little bow on top

Speaker:

that she's going to put underneath

your tree and unwrap, then you can.

Speaker:

And here's how to do it.

Speaker:

You can leave me a rating or review

wherever you listen to podcasts.

Speaker:

I promise you this is the best gift

I could ask for. It means so much.

Speaker:

It helps the podcast so much.

Speaker:

Somehow every time five little

stars are left on this podcast,

Speaker:

it finds more and more people,

Speaker:

the algorithm deities decide to

show those podcasts to more of the

Speaker:

people who are meant

to be in our community,

Speaker:

who we are all meant to

be in connection with.

Speaker:

And I read each and every one

of your reviews and I save

Speaker:

them in a folder called

Remember Why You're Here,

Speaker:

which predated this podcast. This

is where this podcast came from,

Speaker:

was this folder where I would put these

messages that I received from people,

Speaker:

that really helped me remember,

Speaker:

away on my desktop so I could

tune in anytime I needed to.

Speaker:

So thank you for reminding

me why I am here.

Speaker:

Thank you for all of

your love and support.

Speaker:

This has just been such a beautiful

experience so far and I'm really

Speaker:

excited to launch into

season two next year.

Speaker:

So may the rest of your

holiday season be blessed.

Speaker:

May you receive so many

omens of blessings and

Speaker:

goodwill and wishes come true

on your Celtic Omen days this

Speaker:

year. And may this tip into the new

year bring you perspective and magic and

Speaker:

homecoming,

Speaker:

and may it help remind you of that thing,

Speaker:

that thing that we all need to remember,

Speaker:

that thing that is the most helpful

thing of all as we walk through this

Speaker:

world, remembering why you're here.
