Shownotes

In this episode of Morning Motivation, we dive into the story of Samson — not the polished hero you may have heard about, but an impulsive, flawed man who God still used to fulfill His purpose. Samson’s story is a reminder that you don’t need to be perfect to make an impact; you just need to step into your calling. Even your weaknesses can become the very tools God uses to move you forward.

Have you ever read the story of Samson you know Samson Delilah you probably heard that the guy with the hair super strong cut His hair off he gets weak. Yeah If you read the whole story, there's a bit more to it So Samson was one of the judges of Israel judges were people raised by God to lead the Israelites To try to get right with God and here's the problem None of them could do it because they all had flaws, but let me tell you about this Samson guy This guy wasn't some kind of hero. He wasn't a great leader The only reason he was great at all is because God made him super strong But otherwise he was a womanizer. He had all the piety of a pile of dog manure He loved those Philistine women the Philistines You know the heathens who had taken over the Israelites kingdom and were holding on the subjugation He loved those Philistine women and he had a weak spot for them He was very easily manipulated by them They could make him do anything and he'd do it and it would not work out well But you know what happened when he did that when he got tricked he got mad He got big mad and he was big and strong so he would kill lots of Philistines That's what Samson did that was Samson strength. That's how God used Samson. This guy was dumb lecherous and angry and God wanted to kill Philistines So he took that guy that guy with basically no redeeming features and gave him a lot of strength and made him kill a lot of Philistines Why am I telling you this story besides the fact that it is fun to talk about? Because we look at ourselves and say what redeeming value do I have? I'm not strong enough. I'm not fast enough I'm not smart enough. I'm not connected enough I don't have the certifications the classes the degrees the whatever How could I possibly do anything meaningful? But here's the thing God needs you you for what he needs you for. Samson was worse than a loser. He was a menace. And yet, he made it into the book of Judges. Why? Because that's what God needed at the time, an angry, impetuous, disrespectful jackass. That's what God needed. That's what God used. You are probably better than Samson on a moral basis. You are probably more loyal, attentive, disciplined, and respectful of people around you. You probably don't make half the mistakes that he makes. And God can definitely use you. If God can put Samson to work, think about what he can do with you, your dedication, your focus, your desire to do good. Samson didn't desire to do good. Samson desired to do Philistines, if you know what I mean. You want to do good. You want to make a difference. You're 10 steps ahead of this guy and this guy is a quote-unquote Hero in the Bible so God can definitely put you to work. God can definitely take what you've got and do amazing things The question is what is he calling you to do? What does God need of you? What is God calling for you to make happen? How does God want you to use your gifts and your gifts to the good stuff? The stuff we think about maybe you're a good speaker or maybe you're charismatic or you're funny or you're right Well, you're artistic or whatever, but also Maybe your impatience is a gift.
