Speaker:

Hey, what's going on, everybody.

Speaker:

Welcome back to the elemental oven show.

Speaker:

Thank you all for tuning into this mini Monday episode.

Speaker:

So every Monday I do one of these mini episodes, which are more focused on

Speaker:

typically mindset, but they also dive into other types of health and wellness.

Speaker:

But mindset is so important because it really can help benefit our mental

Speaker:

health, which is definitely something that a lot of people need to improve.

Speaker:

Or are working on.

Speaker:

And so by being able to shift our mindset into a more positive One with a better

Speaker:

outlook, we can also help to shift our negative mindsets that can lead to these

Speaker:

detrimental forms of mental health.

Speaker:

So that's typically what these Monday episodes are about.

Speaker:

And that is what this one is going to be about.

Speaker:

Uh, today's episode is actually going to be on the quote of.

Speaker:

Life happens.

Speaker:

For you.

Speaker:

Not to you.

Speaker:

Now let's go ahead and start off with just dissecting this.

Speaker:

So when we say that life happens for you and not to you essentially.

Speaker:

It's looking, you know, think of the person who is like, Ah, you know, of

Speaker:

course this had to happen to me today.

Speaker:

Thanks God.

Speaker:

Thanks for giving me this, you know, or, or thanks to, you know,

Speaker:

whoever, you know, fill in the blank for giving me this hard life.

Speaker:

You know, I like.

Speaker:

Always happens to me.

Speaker:

Life is so tough, you know, and, and they always look like they're

Speaker:

just dealing with a result of life.

Speaker:

Like they are at the whim of whatever life throws at them, you

Speaker:

know, and they have zero control.

Speaker:

They're not able to.

Speaker:

You know, do anything and, and life is just always throwing something at them.

Speaker:

They're always victimizing themselves.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

Well, this is a very detrimental mindset to have, because if you

Speaker:

believe life is happening to you and you just have no control and you're

Speaker:

just taking beatings left and right.

Speaker:

This is creating a narrative around your life into just, yeah.

Speaker:

Essentially being a victim and not having the capability to grow from

Speaker:

life's hardships and, you know, become better and do better, or, you know,

Speaker:

not make the same mistake twice.

Speaker:

You know, these are really important things.

Speaker:

And so.

Speaker:

For example, the person who states that, you know, life is happening for them,

Speaker:

as opposed to happening to them, they are growing from whatever hardships may

Speaker:

arise or setbacks, setbacks may occur.

Speaker:

You know, if, um, your tire pops on the road one day and, you know,

Speaker:

Of course you can be like, oh, why did it have to happen today?

Speaker:

Geez.

Speaker:

He's like, life is just out to get me yada, yada, yada, you know, and just

Speaker:

have a negative outlook on it and let it just ruin the rest of your day.

Speaker:

Or you can look at it as a positive and see it in a way of look, my tire

Speaker:

popped and maybe, you know, it's because, you know, I meant to learn

Speaker:

how to change out a tire today.

Speaker:

If you don't know how to change a tire or, um, get some patches in your trunk so

Speaker:

that if this does occur again, you can.

Speaker:

Pop one of those in and be ready to go, you know, it can look at it as a

Speaker:

learning experience or, um, maybe it was meant to happen at this time, you know?

Speaker:

And, and it's, uh, preventing you from.

Speaker:

Being in a car crash later down the road or whatever it may be, you know,

Speaker:

you can always change the narrative around it and realize that life.

Speaker:

Is happening for you.

Speaker:

And this is just a mindset shift.

Speaker:

I mean, you can choose to look at life in whichever way you want,

Speaker:

because realistically, if you believe you're, if you believe

Speaker:

it's one way, then you're right.

Speaker:

If you believe it's the other way, then you're also right.

Speaker:

You know, uh, whatever your belief is is, is technically going to

Speaker:

be your reality and your truth.

Speaker:

So why not make your reality and truth one that is beneficial and

Speaker:

going to better you in the long run?

Speaker:

Right?

Speaker:

Allowing life to happen for you?

Speaker:

Like everything Conspiring for you to be the best version of yourself.

Speaker:

Every hardship that you're facing is just toughening your skin,

Speaker:

toughening your brain, your mentality,

Speaker:

Um, your work ethic to just be better and always constantly improve and grow.

Speaker:

Right?

Speaker:

Cause you can always look at hardships is, you know, life being out to get

Speaker:

you, or you can look At it as an opportunity to grow, you can look

Speaker:

at your problems as puzzles, right?

Speaker:

Puzzles that just need to be solved, not a problem, but a puzzle,

Speaker:

something that is going to be solved and make you better because the

Speaker:

next time you face that problem.

Speaker:

You'll now have the tools, the mentality, the mindset to go ahead and take on that.

Speaker:

And do a much better job at it, right?

Speaker:

You're going to be better equipped to handle whatever that may be.

Speaker:

So, this is really one of my favorite quotes actually.

Speaker:

I heard my fiance make this statement not too long ago.

Speaker:

Uh, she said that quote in.

Speaker:

And honestly just sparked a whole episode for me.

Speaker:

So, uh, that's why I'm here talking about it.

Speaker:

And I think it's so true and really important to have this type of mentality.

Speaker:

If we start to look at life as being in our favor, Then that means that

Speaker:

everything life is throwing our way, whether it's good, whether it's

Speaker:

bad or, you know, in the middle.

Speaker:

Then it was meant for us.

Speaker:

It was meant for us to go through that, experience it and learn from it.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

Because they say, um, you know, a mistake or a, yeah, like a mistake is not really

Speaker:

a mistake if you learn from it, right.

Speaker:

If you learn from it and don't make the same mistake again.

Speaker:

A second time.

Speaker:

Then it was never really a mistake.

Speaker:

It was just a learning experience.

Speaker:

And we can look at life as that as simply that, you know, um, if you're at

Speaker:

work and all of a sudden someone has to call off sick or they quit or whatever,

Speaker:

and then you have to take on their work and you have to, you know, now double

Speaker:

down on all this work and it's stuff that you aren't normally used to doing

Speaker:

well, you can look at it as a moment to.

Speaker:

Basically learn from, from this hardship, you know, maybe they

Speaker:

were in charge of doing, you know, different tasks that you aren't.

Speaker:

Uh, customer doing, but then after, you know, having to do their work

Speaker:

and pick up their slack, now you're so much more capable at your job.

Speaker:

You're now a much, much more valuable asset to the company because you know,

Speaker:

way more information than you did, if you were just stuck and stable in your, you

Speaker:

know, in your, your common job in which you are technically not really growing

Speaker:

once you already have it down to a science and can do it without thinking, right.

Speaker:

But if you learn something else now you're so much more valuable to the company.

Speaker:

Maybe.

Speaker:

You get a pay raise, maybe, you know, now you're more qualified

Speaker:

to step up to a new position.

Speaker:

Uh, you know, you can always look at life as being in your favor.

Speaker:

Even these hardships, These setbacks, they can just be moments of learning.

Speaker:

And I think this is really valuable.

Speaker:

I think this can really help shift a lot of people's mindsets and even to a degree.

Speaker:

Uh, some mental health as well, because I think when people feel like

Speaker:

such a victim, You know, it's easy to get kind of depressed and down.

Speaker:

Like, man, I just can't catch a break.

Speaker:

But maybe you're not meant to catch a break right now.

Speaker:

Maybe you're meant to grow.

Speaker:

Maybe these next three months are going to be a hardship, but you're going

Speaker:

to come out of those three months.

Speaker:

Way ahead of the game, better than you were, you know, in the last five

Speaker:

years, you know, learning so much.

Speaker:

And, and I think that's so important to have, if we can just look at life

Speaker:

Really helping us to grow and not, you know, just a setback that's, you

Speaker:

know, a hardship and we have to deal with it and deal with the stress of

Speaker:

it, but rather just learn and grow in that moment and understand that.

Speaker:

Every hardship is an opportunity to learn, to grow and to be so

Speaker:

much better than you are now.

Speaker:

That is the only way you grow is when you get uncomfortable.

Speaker:

And when you go through something difficult.

Speaker:

You're going to come out on the other side.

Speaker:

Better equipped to handle whatever it is.

Speaker:

So anyways, that is today's topic.

Speaker:

It is.

Speaker:

Make the change in your mindset to life happens for you.

Speaker:

It doesn't happen to you.

Speaker:

And I think if you can make this mindset change, Is going to be so beneficial for

Speaker:

not only just you, but even the people around you, because they're going to

Speaker:

see how you handle stressful and hard.

Speaker:

Uh, hard situations.

Speaker:

And they're going to ask you, Hey.

Speaker:

How the heck did you keep such a good, you know, calm and, and, um,

Speaker:

good mindset about, you know, the situation that you were going through.

Speaker:

And you're going to be able to share this with them.

Speaker:

And I think that's very, very beneficial, uh, to grow us as a whole, you know, as

Speaker:

a whole society and, uh, make us better.

Speaker:

So anyways, I hope you really enjoy this quote as much as I did, it sparked such a

Speaker:

flame under me when my fiance stated it.

Speaker:

And I hope it does the same for you.

Speaker:

I hope it has got you.

Speaker:

Going, got you some Monday.

Speaker:

Motivation.

Speaker:

Got you ready to go tackle the day?

Speaker:

And if you're going through something very difficult and hard right now, then

Speaker:

just understand that it is temporary.

Speaker:

It will come to an end eventually, and it can be a learning opportunity for you.

Speaker:

Everything you go through has a message has a lesson in it.

Speaker:

You can always find some value in everything you go through.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

Look for it.

Speaker:

There's always, you know, it can always be worse and, uh, you know,

Speaker:

create that mental strength that we all have and are capable of.

Speaker:

So, anyways, I hope this all helped you out very That's going to be today's uh,

Speaker:

sorry, this week's, uh, exercise because I try to give you guys an exercise once

Speaker:

a week, and I usually do it in these episodes, and that is going to be simply

Speaker:

to look at your problems as puzzles.

Speaker:

Right?

Speaker:

Go ahead and see how you can grow from each thing.

Speaker:

I understand that you can look at life as working in your favor,

Speaker:

conspiring to make you the best strongest version of yourself possible.

Speaker:

Through all these hardships.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Try to have that mindset shift.

Speaker:

So, you know, become aware of the problems you're going through right now with

Speaker:

the hardships you're facing right now.

Speaker:

And try to find what is it that you're meant to learn through these hardships.
