When we are using a credit card we know at that moment it is both our money but we also treat it differently because we aren’t going to be truly paying for it at the moment. We are paying for it later on and byt removing the instantaneous nature of paying for something in cash feels more difficult than swiping a credit card, signing your name and getting a new bill in a couple of weeks. Credit cards encourage of to spend more, more quickly carelessly and more forgetfully than we usually would if we are using cash or when we are using our debit cards knowing the money will be immediately removed from our bank account.
